Story

Sheila is a funny, playful, affectionate 8 month old Doberman Pinscher/German Shepherd mix puppy who is full of spunk and personality! She can be a bit timid with new things at first, but her true self comes out within minutes! Sheila weighs about 45lbs currently and will likely be about 55lbs fully grown. Sheila was found as a stray and brought to our local high kill shelter where she was placed on the euthanasia list for being scared. Shy, scared dogs usually face a bleak outcome at our severely overcrowded shelters, and that's the way it was looking for poor Sheila. Luckily, we were able to rescue her and have gotten to see what a sweet girl she is! Sheila has a lot of that standard puppy energy you see in dogs her age, but she knows how to reel it back in if she's starting to get too crazy. Being part Doberman and German Shepherd, Sheila is a very intelligent girl and learns quickly. She is a goofy and affectionate little girl and loves to cuddle and be pet! Sheila plays very well with other dogs and seems to get along with just about everyone. She can be a little forward sometimes which can be intimidating to some dogs, but she takes corrections well and is learning to be calmer around the dogs who are more shy. Sheila is crate trained, mostly potty trained, walks fairly well on a leash, is good with other dogs, kids, and people of all kinds. She would prefer to have a canine sibling in her new home, but this is not required for her to love her happiest life. All she really needs is a family to call her own and lots of love! Sheila is located in Houston TX but can be transported to most US states for adoption.

Story

Josie came from the shelter a few months ago at about 9 months old. We were told she was 2 years old at adoption, however the vet soon confirmed she was significantly younger. Josie is fun and sweet, and wonderful with people, including children. She’s very affectionate and really seems to think she’s a lap dog. She does not get along well with other dogs, though, and this is the problem. We love Josie, and we have done everything we can to try and keep her. She spent a week with a trainer and came back much calmer and more attentive, and she’s great with all the basic commands, however she is still reactive when it comes to other animals. We have three older dogs and have to keep Josie separated from them, when this fun-loving, young dog really should have the ability to roam freely throughout the house and yard. She needs to be the only pet in a loving, engaged household. Josie will come with her vet records as well as her supplies, such as food, harness, and kennel, if desired.
