Story
Ingrid was a stray that was living on the streets in Channelview, TX. She delivered 7 beautiful pups 6 weeks ago. Ingrid is an independent girl who likes her alone time but we are finding that she is really starting to enjoy her people time too! Ingrid is definitely a Dobie mix with a hint of chow chow noting her almost solid purple tongue. Ingrid would do best as an only dog as she doesn't like to share. Story
Remington - Greater Swiss/Hound Mix - Male - 6 years - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Remington is an energetic 6-year-old Doberman/Greater Swiss Mountain dog mix (we think) who likes to play with toys and other dogs.  Remington is active and energetic, loves to play ball, is house and crate trained and walks well on leash. He is very smart, learns quickly and wants to please. Remington is looking for a dog-experienced home that can give him the guidance, training and exercise he needs and craves. He previously has had a bad experience with a trainer and an electric collar and takes some time to trust new people, he now doesn't like his collar grabbed. He likes playing with other dogs, but has to be reminded not to guard his resources, like toys and food. He loves his people but can be rude meeting new people. He walks well on leash and runs nicely next to a bike for exercise. He likes to follow his person throughout the house to make sure he's not missing anything, especially in the kitchen - he loves Ice cubes! As he's a large and somewhat pushy character, he's looking for an large-breed experienced home, with or without a similar sized balanced dog. He takes direction well and is fully crate and house trained. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***

We love Roxi, but shes not great with kids so we have to rehome her. She is super sweet, very loving and affectionate, and is a great guard dog. She loves to play, especially with her ball, and she is super healthy. She is fully potty/crate trained and has all of her shots and is spayed. We hope to find her a wonderful new home with someone who can love her as much as we do!

Story
Maximus came into the shelter as a stray on 1/25/24. We had high hopes of reuniting him with his family because he came in wearing a collar and had a microchip, but unfortunately he has not yet been reclaimed. He has a distinctive scar all along his back that has long since healed. No telling what happened to him to get it, but it adds to his rugged good looks. Maximus has the manners of a gentleman. He’s a great leash walker and already knows how to sit on command for a treat. He takes treats gently from your hand too. He can be aloof, but he’s always a good boy. He’s just very independent and self-sufficient. He takes his entertainment into his own paws! He’s not one to sit by your side and be pet for long. He enjoys squeaky toys a lot though! He has an average energy level.

Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS and is available for in-state adoption or adoption and transport to another state. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters has a $200 in-state adoption fee. His out-of-state adoption fee is $450 and includes the cost of ground transport, and he can be transported almost anywhere. within the continental United States. Rooster is fostered by our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted.
