Story
I started fostering Rosie and her 7 puppies June 20th. She was in very bad shape, she was so skinny you could see her spine and ribs and I knew if I don’t help her and her puppies they weren’t going to make it. I love animals and I had to help. We almost lost a couple of the puppies but they pushed through and all 7 puppies have homes and now we are trying to find this sweet and smart momma a forever home. She loves to be loved on and hanging out on the couch she loves to go for walks. She’s great around kids!! She knows how to use a doggie door. Please help me give her a change to have a wonderful life that she deserves. Thank you!!

Story
Fitzgerald came to us as an owner surrender. It wasn’t that his family didn’t love him, they definitely did. But Fitzgerald’s human sister had severe allergies that couldn’t be controlled and his family had to make the heartbreaking decision to give him up. Fitz would do best in a home without young children or other pets. He is an affectionate, loyal dog once he warms up to you. But he needs a structured home and a savvy adopter, experienced with his breed, that is willing to work with him. He is so much fun and loves to explore and to play.

Story
Fletcher has been in the shelter for so many years. We think it's because he is a black dog and he is a very big boy. He is such a goof ball! He is playful, but because he has been in the shelter for so long he needs an experienced person to work with him on manners. He isn't a fan of other dogs which will require him to be the only dog in the home. His Adoption fee has been donated.*****Adoption fee waiver for Senior dogs over 8*****If you are interested in adopting this pet, please visit carams.org for information on our Adoption Process and to fill out our online adoption application.*****Breed identification by visual means is unreliable for most dogs. We are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. Each dog at CARA is an individual and we do our best to describe each animal based on personality, not by breed label.

This sweet boy came to us with his fur sister through no fault of their own. Owner cited personal issues and needed to surrender pups. Buddy is good with dogs and kids. Not good with cats, as he plays much too rough with them. Buddy is housetrained and was an indoor dog.

Story
Sweet Dalton is just a big ol' lap dog 🙂. He has been in a shelter for most of his life and until recently, has had no interaction with other dogs. Shelter staff from years ago labeled him as not good with dogs, though there was no socializing back then. We have recently attempted to socialize him with other dogs, but we haven’t been successful. What he is is a people dog. He loves to play ball and is so eager to please people. But perhaps his favorite activity is being doted on by the humans he loves. Dalton gives the best big bear hugs! He just needs a chance to show how awesome he is!Dalton does guard his resources such as food and toys so probably would do better in a home with older children and no other pets. Please apply to meet Dalton. Once your application is approved we'll contact you to come visit him!

Story
Jax, is a rather large, strapping, young man who is just finding his groove as an adult. He loves to learn and works well on a lead. He is cordial when meeting other dogs and people. With a moderate energy about him, he isn't quite the couch potato. However, he will make a wonderful friend to someone who is both active and enjoys loafing in a park. He's not really a fan of being in a kennel but he does respond very well to treats. He's waiting for you to visit!NOTE: Jax had a tumor removed and is well now. Vet said it could possibly return some day.
