LAB MIX AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION Ozzy came to Kiko a short time ago after his owner passed away. He was adopted in July, but it wasn’t the right fit and he was recently returned to our care. Ozzy is 3 years old, mostly Lab with some Poodle we’re told, and weighs about 65 pounds. He’s housetrained and can be left loose when his people go to work. Ozzy is calm in the house and enjoys hanging out with his people. He loves playing fetch (a lot!), so a fenced backyard for safe playtime is a must. Ozzy would be a great hiking or running companion, and he’s also a perfect passenger in the car. Ozzy’s ideal adopter could be a single, couple or family with children aged 14 and up. He has lived with other dogs and a cat, but he also wouldn’t mind getting all the love and attention himself. Story

SPECIAL HOME NEEDED FOR GOLDEN / POODLE MIX Jamie first came to Kiko in February 2025 as an unclaimed stray at a rural pound. It quickly became obvious that he had never lived in a home or been a loved pet, and that he had likely been used for breeding. Jamie has come a very long way since then. After a stint in foster care, a nice couple with two lovely calm dogs opened their home to Jamie last November. With monthly trips to the spa and lots of TLC, he was very well taken care of. Unfortunately, an incident involving a barking Doberman on the other side of the fence brought him back to Kiko in July with original foster mom Line. Jamie is almost 5 years old and weighs around 50 pounds. He’s incredibly sweet but still timid and will need a calm environment in a rural or semi-rural setting. Jamie has not mastered the art of leash walking, so a fenced backyard is a must as he is now housetrained. Jamie is sharing his foster home with cats and particularly enjoys hanging out with his friends Henry and Gerry in his safe corner. The company of a well-mannered dog as a role model would also be beneficial for him. Jamie has continued to impress us with his progress. We don’t know what trauma he may have endured but there is hope in his eyes and love in his heart. GERMAN SHEPHERD AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION We truly hope that third time’s the charm for sweet Finn. Originally adopted as a pup in 2018, his first owner had a serious accident in 2025 necessitating a move. Finn then found another family where he was much loved and well taken care of, but he was recently returned to our care due to changes at the home. Finn is friendly and enjoys nothing more than being with his people. He’s great in the house and is good on walks and in the car. Finn has lived in both the suburbs and on a farm with no preference for either, but a fenced yard for taking in the outdoors is a must. He’s a chill guy and would be happy as either an only pet or with an adult female pooch with a similar demeanor; and no cats please. Finn would be suitable for a single, couple, or a family with children aged 12 and up. SMALL MIXED BREED PUP AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION Meet Roxy, an energetic little 10-month-old that had been kept crated in an apartment before fosters Angélique and Yan picked her up. After never even having gone outside, Roxy sure is enjoying her newfound freedom! Roxy was born in November 2025, weighs 14 pounds, and not likely to get a whole lot bigger. Her mix is unknown, but she has the appearance of a wee Lab in a Dachshund body. Roxy’s fosters describe her as a quick learner and super affectionate. Following foster brother Buck’s lead, she has already learned to do her business outside but will also use a pee pad for emergencies. Roxy is not a big barker and can be left loose in the house when her people are at work. She’s got a spot on the big bed at night (she doesn’t take up much room) and in addition to Buck, Roxy also gets along well with the foster’s cat. She got a clean bill of health at her recent vet exam and will be going back soon for her spay and microchip. Roxy’s ideal adopter will be an active single, couple or family in a house with a fenced yard. She loves to run free and be outdoors, and it’s no wonder after how she spent the first nine months of her life. Roxy has been in foster care for five weeks and has adapted very well to her new lifestyle. She’s still a little shy when first meeting new people but soon warms up. YORKIE MIX AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION This little 10-year-old Yorkie mix came to Kiko due to barking complaints from other residents in the condo building. Upon intake, we discovered that Coco had a mass and cataracts. She had a successful spay and mass removal surgery and is now ready to move on to her forever home. Since her arrival, Coco has shown us that she’s a spunky little gal. Her limited vision did not slow her down at all as she quickly learned her way around the foster home. Coco is a bit of diva and will let you know when she wants something, whether it’s to go outside, have a snack, play or go to bed. Coco has a great love of the outdoors and will happily watch you garden and accompany you on long walks. She likes meeting new people and is friendly with cats and other dogs. Coco’s foster mom describes her as “spicy” and “endearing.” She would be perfect for someone who’s home a lot and is looking for a small older dog to love and spoil. At just 10 pounds, Coco doesn’t take up much room on the big bed. She’s playful and active, enjoys a good game of fetch, and always ready to learn something new. BOXER MIX AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION This is Jimmy, an easygoing 9-year-old ready for a new beginning. A move out of the country brought the 60-pound Boxer mix to Kiko. Jimmy has been doing well since coming into foster care. He gets along with the two resident dogs but would also be happy going solo. Jimmy likes his daily walks, yet he doesn’t have high exercise needs and is looking for a like-minded adopter. This gentle boy loves being with his people and can also be left at home alone. Jimmy is a calm and intelligent fellow, not a big barker, knows commands and is a polite houseguest. He’s used to living with teens and is reported to be comfortable during the occasional interactions he had with dog-savvy younger children in the past.
