Story
WE HAVE PUPPIES! Pretty Bella and her seven puppies born on March 7 came into Kiko’s care when they were just three days old. We have very little information on Bella, but she’s about 50 pounds and appears to be around a year old. The puppies’ father, we are told, is also a medium-sized dog of unknown breed mix. The puppies will be available for adoption in mid May. They will have been examined by our vet, dewormed, and received their first vaccination. Microchipping and sterilization, when they are old enough, are also included in the adoption fee. We are not yet sure how many of each gender there are. Bella will also be available for adoption. Puppies require a lot of work and a long-term commitment. If this is something you’re prepared for and would like to be on our list of potential adopters, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.kikodogrescue.ca. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas, and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us.

Story
POTCAKE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! We recently welcomed Abaco, who originally hails from The Bahamas. He’ll be 4 in February and is a nice size at about 45 pounds. We’re still getting acquainted, but we do know that Abaco is a sensitive soul. A home with routine and predictability will help him feel more confident. Abaco is energetic and loves to run off leash but is very calm and relaxed in the home. He enjoys interacting with his people and will also play on his own with his plush toys or chew on bully sticks. Abaco is compatible and playful with other canines. Young children make him uncomfortable, though; an adult home would suit him best. Abaco is housetrained and not destructive when left alone. If you’re interested in offering Abaco a forever home, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us.

Story
FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT URGENTLY NEEDED! Our partner shelter is once again overcrowded and has reached out to us for help with a sweet German Shepherd that is very stressed at the shelter. Sierra is 6.5 years old, spayed, vaccinated, 70 pounds, and in good health. She has been with several families in the past and has lacked stability, but we’re aiming to change that. Sierra was mainly used for breeding by people with bad intentions. Despite this unhappy past, she is adorable with humans, very sweet, docile, obedient, and housetrained. Sierra can live in the city if she gets to go out for walks every day. She may bark a little to warn of visitors but is not overly vocal and is able to stay home alone. Sierra has never lived with cats and gets excited around them but could possibly adapt if she's introduced very gradually and with cats who are used to big dogs. She accepts other male dogs who are gentle and respectful of her space, however, is less patient with young dogs who are too excited and just want to play all the time. If you’re interested in fostering and potentially providing Sierra with a forever home, please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. If you would like to offer to be a temporary foster only, please complete the temporary foster home questionnaire. You can also send us a PM or email us at info@kikodogrescue.ca with any questions you may have. When fostering, food and other expenses are paid for by Kiko. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas.

Story
ADULT FEMALE HUSKY AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION Luna is a beautiful 7-year-old female Husky with a gentle soul and a playful spark. She finds herself in need of a new home following a move to an apartment where dogs are not permitted. Luna is in her wonderful “grown-up but still fun” stage of life — past the puppy chaos, but still full of personality and love. She enjoys walks, cozy naps, and spending time with her people. Luna is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she’s part of the family. Smart and playful, Luna listens well and is friendly with other dogs. She’s housetrained and can be left alone loose in the house without being destructive. Luna would do best in a home that understands the Husky breed and can give her regular exercise, mental stimulation, and lots of companionship. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady companion who will brighten your days and warm your heart, Luna might just be your perfect match. If you’re interested in offering Luna her forever home, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us.

Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Our 50-pound, 4.5-year-old Schnauzer mix River is extremely loving and affectionate with his own people, but it’s a different story with visitors. Negative behaviour was created as a result of having been put in a room when visitors arrived. Because of this, River needs an experienced adopter who is prepared to work with him with a basket muzzle to help manage and overcome this reaction when people visit his home. LIFESTYLE: River needs a calm single or couple with a quiet lifestyle and few visitors. A semi-rural or rural environment would suit him best. River would not be suitable for apartment life, and no dog parks or children please. ACTIVE: River is playful and moderately active. He enjoys walks when there is not a lot going on around him, but responds well to redirection and positive reinforcement. OTHER PETS: River would be fine as an only dog, but a well-behaved female canine role model may be beneficial. Don’t be fooled by River’s cuteness. He needs a dedicated pack leader to show him the way. If that sounds like you, a very loving companion awaits. If you are interested in offering River a forever home, we ask that you please visit us at www.kikodogrescue.ca to fill out an adoption questionnaire. All Kiko dogs have been examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, dewormed and tested for heartworm (if deemed necessary), microchipped, sterilized, and require an adoption fee of $475 and an adoption contract. Story
**Note: Camper is currently in Korea and will travel to Montreal once adopted. His adopter will need to come to Toronto to pick him up. 🐾 Background This handsome boy was rescued from a slaughterhouse in the summer of 2022 in Daegu, Korea. After his rescue, he lived in a local shelter for three years but couldn’t find a home in Korea. After hearing his story, we brought him to our boarding house, knowing that a loving family is waiting for him in Canada. His forever home is out there, and he is ready to find it. 🐾 Personality & Behavior Camper is a wonderful Border Collie with a sweet and gentle personality. He has medium energy, much calmer than a typical Border Collie, making him well-mannered and easygoing. He is social and friendly, not shy around strangers, and he gets along beautifully with other dogs. Camper is never dominant or aggressive; he is always polite and affectionate. Among people at the shelter, he is one of the sweetest and most popular dogs, loved by volunteers for his friendly and gentle nature. 🐾 Daily Life & Habits Camper is well-behaved both indoors and outdoors. He goes potty outside and is easy to care for. He handles bath time and car ride well, and walks nicely on leash, though he sometimes gets excited by new sights during walks. He does not like being caged but has shown no signs of separation anxiety or destructive behavior. Camper is simply a sweet, well-mannered boy who makes life easy and enjoyable. 🐾 Health & Diet Camper has been on regular parasite prevention since his rescue and has had full veterinary checkups. He is dewormed, microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. He is healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home. Camper eats kibble twice a day and has shown no food allergies. 🐾 Ideal Home Camper is smart, quick to learn, and very sociable. He will thrive in a home that enjoys spending time outdoors. While he does not require excessive exercise like some Border Collies, he enjoys daily walks, playtime, and outdoor adventures. He will happily balance activity with relaxation and is a perfect companion for a family who loves to include their dog in their outdoor lifestyle. Whoever adopts Camper will be very lucky to have such a gentle, affectionate, and loyal friend. ⬇️ Become Camper's family today through link below: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/camper/
