Story
Sweet Pea needs a foster or foster to adopt in So Cal ASAP. She’s a 1 1/2 year old Dogo Argentino mix. She is very sweet dog. She does seem to be deaf or at least have selective hearing. She does need some time to adjust in a new home, but she loves people and seems non reactive with other dogs and cats. She can escape a fenced yard, so she will need to be kept inside unless you're outside with her. She's pretty good in a crate and we can provide one for a foster to use. She still needs to be spayed. That is included in her adoption. She loves the car and is pretty good on leash. Currently in need of new foster in So Cal or can be adopted anywhere in California. Adoption fee of $400 includes spay/neuter, core vaccines (DAPP and rabies), microchip, access to training videos. You must complete an application before we are able to accommodate any request for a meet and greet. Please apply here to adopt: Adoption Application or to foster apply here: Foster Application Thank you!

Story
Marley and Stella are a bonded pair of Dogo Argentinos that we rescued a while back. Both came from very bad situations previously and we stepped in to help. We were going back and forth over the last year or so debating if we could keep them or not as we already have two other rescues that are older. Marley and Stella love each other but do not get along with other same sex dogs. We keep them separate from our other dogs but this has become very challenging now that we have also welcomed our first born daughter into our lives. We are willing to keep them until a great home is found, but have decided that long-term this is not the best set up for neither us nor the dogs. Both are absolutely snuggly and love us, our daughter and 18 year old cat. Same sex dogs are the only problem for both of them. They are house trained and up to date on shots. A good and forever home is a must. We will also always take them back should things not work out.

Story
Meet Sweetpea! Sweetpea is the ultimate combination of gentle lovebug and cuddle queen. With her big, strong build and soulful eyes, she may look a little intimidating, but don’t be fooled—this girl is all heart. Sweetpea is a certified people-lover who never misses an opportunity to lean against you for snuggles or melt your heart with her sweet personality. Her signature move? Adorable little snorts whenever she wants attention—how can you resist? While Sweetpea adores her human friends, she’d prefer to be your one-and-only pet. She doesn’t get along with other dogs or cats, but with the right person or family, she’s all the love you’ll ever need. Sweetpea would thrive with someone who can offer her a consistent routine and positive training to help her shine even brighter. If you’re looking for a loyal, snuggly companion with a dash of “scary dog privileges” for those nighttime strolls, Sweetpea is your girl! Are you ready to give her the forever home she deserves? 🐾

How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on March 28th, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Buster! This sweet boy can be unsure of new people and will thrive in a quiet, low-traffic home with a patient adopter. He prefers to approach on his own terms, so giving him space and letting him initiate interactions is key. Once he's comfortable, Buster loves hanging out with his favorite people, leaning into you for some gentle pets! This goofy boy loves playing with his favorite toys, and has already mastered sit and down! Buster is looking for a home with children over 10, and all household members should be present at the time of adoption in order to ensure a good fit. With a calm, understanding family, Buster is sure to blossom and make a great companion! At SDHS:Buster has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.
