Bruno is a great dog, active and loves to play, go for walks, and run around. He has gotten into several fights brought on by other dogs aggression. Otherwise he is very gentle, likes people and dogs that are not aggressive.

Story
Hi, I'm Eloy, a big 92 lb. double pirate Dogo Argentino currently chilling in Tampa, FL with a heart full of love and some rough patches behind me. Mid-October, I was rescued from the countryside around Ft. Meade, FL, after a kind family found me wandering and took me in to make sure I was safe. I wasn’t in great shape—I could barely open my eyes because they hurt so much. Turns out, I had bilateral entropion, which meant my eyelids were causing me pain and damage. It got so bad I didn’t feel like eating. Thankfully, the vet rushed me in for surgery, and I’m already feeling so much better. I also found out I have heartworms, which wasn’t a surprise, but the good news is I’ve already started my treatment. It’ll be a few months of taking it easy, but I’m already on the road to recovery. Now that I’m safe and more comfortable at the farm kennels, my personality is starting to show. I’m around 5 to 6 years old, quick to learn, and I’m definitely a big fan of affection! Scratch my ears, rub my belly, and I’m a happy guy. I just started giving out kisses and showing off my big bear hugs, too! So far, I’ve been pretty calm around the other dogs at the kennel. I’m not looking for trouble like some do and, honestly, just taking my time getting used to everything while my body heals. My vision’s still a bit blurry, but it seems to be improving every day. I love my walks, mealtimes, and treats—and I keep my kennel neat and clean (unlike some of the other pups here, if you know what I mean). I’m expected to fully recover from my eye surgery and beat the heartworms, too, thanks to early treatment. Just six days after surgery, I’ve already got great energy! For the next few months, I need to keep it low-key as I heal, so I’d love a calm home where I can chill, go on walks, and explore a little. The team here thinks I might have been a hunter before because I perk up when I catch a whiff of wild boar! But mostly, I’m just your typical awesome Dogo Argentino looking for a place to call home. I have basic training and get along with older kids. If you think you could be that special foster or forever home for me, I’d love to meet you!

Story
**Hey There! Sting Here: Your Future Bestie!** Hey, I’m Sting! Currently living the dream in sunny Tampa, FL, and loving every minute of it. I’m about 4 years old and, believe it or not, I started as a stray in Miami. Yeah, Miami – where strays seem to be as common as beachgoers. Luckily, a kind human scooped me up, kept me safe, and made sure I was well-fed. Big shoutout to them! So, we did a DNA test just for kicks and guess what? I’m 50% Dogo and 50% other bully dog breeds! But let’s be real – I’m 100% awesome. I’m a fun-loving guy who entertains myself by running around the yard like a goofball. One thing’s for sure, I adore a soft bed – so much so that sharing is not on my agenda. I’m okay with some dogs, but honestly, I’d prefer to be the king of my own castle. I play nice with the girl dogs through the fence, but when it comes to my stuff, sharing is a no-go. I’m the perfect companion for someone or a couple who wants a buddy to take on walks and chill with at home or on the road. I’m a pro at car rides and love exploring new places. Plus, I have this fantastic ability to entertain myself – you should see me toss toys around. It’s a one-dog show, and it’s epic! Now, let’s talk about my favorites: belly rubs and hugs. I’m a staff favorite at the kennel because I give the best hugs and absolutely melt for belly rubs. I flop over, ready for a good rub down, and practically go into a blissful coma. I’m super easygoing, don’t bark at everything like some other dogs, and I’m just a big sweetheart. I’ve got some good news too – I was heartworm positive, but I crushed my treatment in March 2024 like a champ! Did I mention I love belly rubs? Seriously, I’m the king of belly rubs. Can’t get enough of them. So, if you’re looking for a fun, loving, and all-around awesome dog, I’m your guy. Let’s make some great memories together – I can’t wait to be your best buddy!

Story
**Hey There! I'm Liza: Your Future Comedic Companion!**  Also, I am the DC Dogos Rescue COVER MODEL for our 2025 Calendar! I will do autographs by request :) Hi, I’m Liza, and let me tell you, I’m one hilarious, young, and healthy gal! At just about a year old, currently in sunny Tampa, FL, I’m bursting with playful energy and, well, still learning my manners. But hey, who needs manners when you’re this cute? I’ve already mastered the art of giving you my paw for hotdogs or other tasty treats. I’m working on meeting new friends and, oh boy, am I smitten with Simon! He’s just as wild and fun as I am. My humans are helping me socialize with other dogs, and they think I’ll do great. They recently gave me this weird ball that makes noises – I kicked it around like a soccer pro! My zoomies, especially in the mornings, are a sight to behold. I’ll run straight at you and then punk you out at the last second! I’m super fast, so a yard would be perfect for me to stretch my legs. I need an active home that’s ready to keep up with my energy and help me with my training. I love going on leash walks now – I used to be like a fish out of water, but now I’m a dream to walk! My current humans think I’d be awesome at agility work. I’m athletic and would thrive with someone dedicated to my training. I’ve come a long way since they found me, and a dog friend would be great for me too. I have so much fun with Simon, and I’m sure I’d love another buddy just as much. When I first met men, I wasn’t a fan, but with some training and patience, I’ve started giving them kisses! That was a huge step for me, and I keep hitting new milestones every day. I’m pretty incredible, if I do say so myself. I was one of five dogs found dumped in Naples, FL, and the shelter picked us all up. We don’t know if we were from the same person or related, but I’m so grateful to have a second chance at life. My past is behind me, and I’m ready to start a new chapter with a loving family. So, if you’re looking for a playful, funny, and affectionate companion, I’m your girl. I can’t wait to meet you and make you laugh every day!

Story
Marvin is absolutely amazing!! He is currently living in Tampa at the farm kennels and just the happiest dude on the planet. He loves the excitement but he also loves to chill and get lovins'. He seems to have a solid temperament and doesn't like to cause any trouble like some boy dogos tend to do! When challenged by the other blockheads through the kennels he laughs and runs off to do something else. This boy is a dream and quite possibly a unicorn dogo. We will keep you posted on how his dog intros go! Dogos are a wonderful breed but we urge anyone interested to dig in and do a lot of research before deciding if they are a good fit for your home. They require a lot of attention and training with them never ends! Boundaries must be enforced and they often need reminders as they push past boundaires you set! Dogos are loving, kind and gentle but don't mistake that for weakness because they are equally powerful and intense as well! Everyone in the home must be on board with having a dogo and play a major role in their daily routines and training. Yes it is work, but the rewards are ten-fold! Lazy homes don't work for dogos as they need stimulation, exercise, and lots of attention too during their younger years. Our goal in rescue is to be as transparent as we can about each and every dog plus make sure new families really understand the needs of a dogo!

Story
**Greetings from Brooke: The Fabulous Femme Fatale!** Hello, darlings! I’m Brooke, and let me tell you, I am one incredible girl! I’m currently living the good life in Tampa, where it took me a little over a week to come out of my shell and decompress. When I first arrived, I was so terrified that it took three days of gentle coaxing to get me out of my kennel! My rescuers even put a grass pad in there so I could do my business without stepping outside. Talk about VIP treatment! All anyone knew about me was that I was found off a rural road in South Miami, a hotspot for many of our rescued females. What I went through is anyone’s guess, but trust me, I’ve got a story to tell! I have a few scars from some sort of trauma or accident, but guess what? I’m relentless! I’ve put the past behind me, and my resilience makes everyone so proud. Now, let’s talk about my social life. I absolutely adore hanging out with my crush, Marvin. We run around the yard and have the best time together. I’d do great in a home with a friendly male dog to keep me company. Female dogs, on the other hand, are a no-go for me. Maybe it’s because I don’t want to share my man, or maybe I just like being the BOSS B! Either way, female dogs can find another yard to run in. My energy is fabulous, and my vibrant personality lights up the place. I’m a kisser, and I love so hard, you better watch out! I want to shower you with affection and just can’t control my emotions when it comes to showing love. Trust me, you’ll fall head over heels for me from day one. I weigh about 92 pounds, and let me tell you, I love to eat and get treats. We’re not sure how I’d do with cats, but let’s just say a cat-free home might be best. I haven’t been around kids yet, but since I love so intensely, no young children for me, please. I’m not sure if I’m housebroken, but I do keep my kennel space clean and love a soft bed and blankies.Although I've been pretty bored at times and tore up my bed and blankie then I actually ate the Blankie! So anyway, maybe I can't have blankies again until I have a place of my own one day. I’m ready to find my forever home, and I just can’t wait to meet my new family. Get ready to fall in love with me (and my hubby Marvin!) – I’m Brooke, and I’m ready to bring joy and love into your life!
