Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Ali & Tyson – Available for Pre-Adoption! FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY… STOMP LIKE A BOXERDOODLE! Meet Ali and Tyson – two rambunctious, affectionate Boxer BoyZ who are half Boxer, half Standard Poodle, and 100% ready to steal your heart. They can be adopted together or separately! These smart, playful pups are full of charm and energy. We expect them to grow to about 50-70 pounds when full-grown. According to them, they’re “young, handsome, and fast” – and clearly “the best that’s ever been!” Perfect for an active family, these boys love tug-of-war, zoomies, snuggles, and making new friends—both human and canine. If their wrestling matches are any indication, they’re definitely contenders for “Kings of the Ring!” Health & Adoption Details: • Have already received wellness exams, oral Bordetella, and their first set of vaccines • 2nd & 3rd sets of shots, Rabies, neuter, and microchip will be provided by the rescue at one of our preferred vet clinics in Brandon, Riverview, Sarasota, or St. Petersburg, FL so we prefer applicants within 100 miles of these areas. Apply today at 4luckydogs.org and bring home your new champ(s)! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 16, 2025, 11:19 am

Story
Contact: Alisa12/1/2024 -  Zara completed her board and train, and she is ready to adopt or foster!   Zara has graduated from training! She is a 2 y/o female with lots of Boxer energy. She loves to run in her yard, play with her toys and still has more in her engine to complete zoomies for the day!   Look at those eyes! Zara exhibits the typical Boxer love and energy they are known, and loved for. Zara is a sweet girl, and she needs to be the only dog at the moment. She has no problems being near others but still needs some corrections when interacting. She has no problem walking next to each other or passing them on a walk.     As a foster or adopter, you will need to continue socializing and always advocate for her. Help her make great decisions. It will be crucial for the foster or adopter to provide sufficient guidance and structure for her.   She is very timid when she meets new people, but with continued training and slow introductions, she will be fine.   Our trainer will continue to assist you and Zara to be successful.   Age: 2 y/o  Wt. 60 lbs. Any boxer lover would be lucky to have him and he would be a great addition to any family.    1/20/2025 - Age: 8 y/o  Wt: 70 lbs  Bio: Tur was surrendered with a female English bulldog to a local shelter. Story
Contact: Sandra 4/5/2025 - Age: 7 ish  Wt. 57 lbs.  Bio:  Hi, my name is Macaw, but my foster mom and dad call me Tucker.  I’m somewhere between 3 and 7 years old.  I have a little gray on my muzzle, but I play like a puppy. I’m a very sweet boy and like most other dogs.  Cats-not so much.   I don’t like being alone, but I’ve gotten better.  I’ve gotten really good at going to outdoor restaurants!  I like French fries. People always come over to pet me and tell me what a good boy I am! I love long walks, and long naps. I love cream cheese, but haven’t developed a taste for peanut butter. My soulful eyes and ability to cuddle for long periods of time are my best traits!     April 6, 2025, 12:20 pm

Story
Contact: Nancy 4/5/2025 - Age: 12 y/o  Wt.  55 lbs.  Bio: Louie is great with both large and small dogs.  He loves all people.  He does not bark much and makes adorable whining noises if you take too long getting his dinner ready.  He is not very active but has bursts of energy when everyone in the house gets up in the morning or comes back home.  He is minimally playful with other dogs and occasionally plays with toys.  He loves to lie next to you on the couch and be petted.  He is house broken but will occasionally excitement-pee. He is a good passenger in the car and always excited to go.  He needs some assistance getting up into the vehicle.  He is not a picky eater at mealtimes but doesn’t seem to know what to do with a treat.  Maybe someone can make it more interesting. EVALUATION HOLD: 3/3/2025 - Louie is under our mandatory evaluation period, and is not available for adoption at this time. Story
Jasmine is a young pup who was brought to us as a stray. She was diagnosed with hip dysplasia but does not need surgery. She just needs regular exercise and we are waiting until after her first heat cycle to have her spayed. The spay is paid for by our shelter but the adopter would have to bring her back to our vet in Brandon for the procedure. She is super sweet, playful and loves toys. She is athletic and would love an active family. The first step is to complete the application on our website at https://www.rainingcatsanddogsshelter.com/adoption. Once your application is approved, our adoption coordinator will reach out to you by email. You can also follow up by email with our adoption coordinator at rainingcatsanddogsvolunteer@gmail.com. We appreciate you being patient with us as we are all volunteers and many of us have full time jobs. We will get back with you as soon as we can. We hope to be able to match you with a new fur baby!

Story
Sweet, Shy Betty was found in a ditch in a Strawberry Patch in January 2022. She was very thin, was covered in fleas and loaded with worms. Betty is healthy, heartworm negative and is now fully up to date with vaccinations. Betty is a timid lady, she requires some time to decompress in a home. We have been working with her and she has done wonderful in her foster - really coming out of her shell. She is still a little afraid of new things but walks well on a leash with proper equipment, is crate trained and housebroken. Betty is 9 years old and 55lbs. *She will need a secure, fully fenced yard* We recommend no kitties for her and no other dogs. Betty attended obedience classes and learned how to sit / stay. Located Tampa, FL ~ Adoption fee $200 Apply at www.secondchancefriends.org
