Gunner is a very sweet and attention craving companion. Unfortunately, our son has started showing signs of an allergy after he's been playing with Gunner. Also, with our son being so young it has been hard to provide Gunner with the attention and training that he needs. Gunner loves playing outside even though he hasn't quite gotten down the whole fetch concept because he would rather you chase him for the ball after he retrieves it. Cairo is a beautiful and loving 3 year old Dogo Argentino Mix Dog (Male). He is energetic and requires a yard with a high fence. He loves attention and will cuddle with you always. He is very protective of his adults and would be a perfect dog for a big family with lots of love and attention. He is very strong and big, potty-trained. Unfortunately, he is not the best dog to live in an apartment because he requires constant movement. He also gets too excited around other dogs thinking all of them want to play with him.

Lily and her two sisters were found on a school playground last December. We brought them home and rehomed the sisters but kept Lily. Lily is such a sweet dog and loves to sit in your lap and cuddle. She is motivated by food, but can sit and wait patiently for the command to eat. We have three female dogs in the house and now that Lily has matured, she does not get along with one of them. She needs a home with either a male dog or no dogs. She is a gentle soul that will steal your heart.

Meet Guin Some of you may remember the two sisters (Rory & Lorelai) from DeKalb County Shelter in Georgia who were once posted in search of foster homes. They came into the shelter as strays, both were emaciated and in a neglected state. Although no foster offers came through at the time, both girls were eventually adopted by the public. Recently, Lorelai now lovingly called Guin, was surrendered to us when it became clear she wasn’t the right fit for her adopter’s pack. Guin was the more reserved of the two sisters and often relied on her sibling for reassurance, so being without her was understandably difficult at first. She spent time in temporary boarding, where she was met with patience, kindness, and love. During that time, Guin began to decompress, settle in, and form a trusting bond with her caretaker. Shortly after, she transitioned into a loving foster home, and that’s when her transformation truly began. This beautiful girl has blossomed far faster than we ever imagined. Once shy and unsure, Guin is now a happy, increasingly confident dog who is coming into her own. Guin is thriving in her foster home, where her canine siblings have helped show her the ropes. She approaches new experiences with growing confidence, and her sweet personality shines brighter every day. Her foster parents adore watching her learn how to be a dog and genuinely enjoy life, she has a gentle, soulful heart. We estimate Guin to be around 3 years old. Guin has formed a special bond with her male Dogo foster brother and would do best in a home with another friendly dog, preferably a male. She’s wonderful with children, walks nicely on a leash, and is both house and crate-trained. Her history with cats is unknown. Julian’s story is one of heartbreak and resilience. He and his siblings were abandoned by their breeder as young pups and left to survive on the streets for over a year. The neighborhood became their lifeline, kind residents left out food and tried to help, and over time the dogs slowly learned to trust the people who kept them alive. Everyone knew these pups and hoped they would one day find safety and love. Once animal control picked them up, we stepped in right away and brought Julian and his brother into our rescue. To no surprise, both boys tested positive for heartworms, but they’ve since completed treatment and are now healthy, safe, and ready for forever homes. ________________________________________ About Julian Julian is an incredibly sweet, affectionate Velcro boy who loves being close to his people. He’s smart, eager to please, and already learning basic obedience. He walks nicely on a leash and is both crate-trained and house-trained. We estimate Julian to be around 1.5 – 2 years old. He’s vocal in the cutest ways, he’ll let you know when he needs to go out or when he’s asking for attention. Julian has a calm, easygoing temperament and would do best in a home with a consistent routine, daily exercise, and mental enrichment. He does well with friendly female dogs and has shown neutral behavior toward other dogs while at the shelter, though he hasn’t had full interactions due to his heartworm treatment recovery. Like most Dogos, he would do best in a home with the opposite sex. Because we don’t know his history with children, he’ll need a home without young kids. ________________________________________ Julian has survived the hardest chapter of his life.
