Story
Babie is a Boxer/Greyhound/Pitbull mix, born appx June 2021. Babie is a sweet and friendly girl. She is housebroken and crate trained. She is an athletic girl, enjoys being active and needs a fenced yard with a TALL fence - no short 4' fences for this girl! Bonus points if you have a large yard with room for her to run and stretch her legs! She is also leash trained and would love it if her person enjoys being active just as much as she does. Sometimes she can be reactive to other dogs while out walking. Babie gets along with kids, but sometimes she is not too sure of them. She has too much energy for little kids and would probably be okay with age 6 and older. Babie does not like to share her food. She needs her own personal space for meals so she feels comfortable. Help us find Babie a new home! The suggested adoption donation for Babie is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Before applying to adopt Babie, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. This will also allow you to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers.       Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Layla is an adult Boxer (born 2021).  Layla is eager to be loved and is a great snuggle partner when it's time to wind down or go to sleep.  She's housebroken, crate trained and friendly with other dogs. Layla needs a family of adults who are energetic and able to help Layla burn off all her energy and provide mental stimulation for her.   Her new owners must be patient and willing to work with Layla as she learns how to control her energy.   She doesn't understand yet that she can't be rough when playing with younger people.  The perfect home for Layla would have no children (or possibly older kids age 13+) and a fenced yard to run around in.    Layla does like to bark or nip when excited or when she's being protective of her family.  She will sometimes seem nervous or stressed.   The suggested adoption donation for Layla is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Story
Banjo is a sweet Boxer mix, born May 2024.  He was surrendered by his owner because he had Parvo.  This resilient puppy beat Parvo and is ready for the next chapter in his life!  He has a very loving demeanor, but needs to be the only dog in the home.    He is crate trained, potty trained, walks great on a leash and knows sit & stay    He also doesn't need to be kenneled when his foster mom is at work. The perfect home for Banjo will be with a family that enjoys an active and fun day of playing, walking and snuggles at the end of the day.  He gets along well with older kids (age 10+). Banjo LOVES his people and is very eager to please.  He is such a sweet boy!   Who wants to be part of Banjo's new lease on life? The suggested adoption donation for Banjo $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, the adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.   ##2187095##
