Story
Babie is a Boxer/Greyhound/Pitbull mix, born appx June 2021. Babie is a sweet and friendly girl. She is housebroken and crate trained. She is an athletic girl, enjoys being active and needs a fenced yard with a TALL fence - no short 4' fences for this girl! Bonus points if you have a large yard with room for her to run and stretch her legs! She is also leash trained and would love it if her person enjoys being active just as much as she does. Sometimes she can be reactive to other dogs while out walking. Babie gets along with kids, but sometimes she is not too sure of them. She has too much energy for little kids and would probably be okay with age 6 and older. Babie does not like to share her food. She needs her own personal space for meals so she feels comfortable. Help us find Babie a new home! The suggested adoption donation for Babie is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Before applying to adopt Babie, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. This will also allow you to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers.       Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Layla is an adult Boxer (born 2021).  Layla is eager to be loved and is a great snuggle partner when it's time to wind down or go to sleep.  She's housebroken, crate trained and friendly with other dogs. Layla needs a family of adults who are energetic and able to help Layla burn off all her energy and provide mental stimulation for her.   Her new owners must be patient and willing to work with Layla as she learns how to control her energy.   She doesn't understand yet that she can't be rough when playing with younger people.  The perfect home for Layla would have no children (or possibly older kids age 13+) and a fenced yard to run around in.    Layla does like to bark or nip when excited or when she's being protective of her family.  She will sometimes seem nervous or stressed.   The suggested adoption donation for Layla is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Banjo is a sweet Boxer mix, born May 2024.  He was surrendered by his owner because he had Parvo.  This resilient puppy beat Parvo and is ready for the next chapter in his life!  He has a very loving demeanor, but needs to be the only dog in the home.    He is crate trained, potty trained, walks great on a leash and knows sit, stay, and shake.    The perfect home for Banjo will be with a family that enjoys an active and fun day of playing, walking and snuggles at the end of the day.  He gets along well with older kids (age 10+). Banjo LOVES his people and is very eager to please.  He is such a sweet boy!   Who wants to be part of Banjo's new lease on life? The suggested adoption donation for Banjo $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Sage is an adorable pup (born Feb 2025) with a sweet and loving personality. He is a Boxer/Husky mix.  Sage is a happy, playful pup who loves spending time outdoors, especially playing with sticks! Sage is great with other dogs and enjoys romping and playing with the resident dog.  Due to his having always been with another dog and his preference to have a playmate we are looking for a home with another dog his size or larger. He adores toys - rope toys are his favorite! Sage is kennel trained and making great progress with potty training. While he may be a little shy around new people at first, he quickly warms up and shows his affectionate side once he feels comfortable. Sage also loves being in the kitchen while you’re cooking and has a particular fondness for vegetables! He is good around kids, though he’s still learning and doesn’t yet distinguish between dog toys and kid toys. He has a sensitive stomach and is currently on a Pro Plan EN Gastroenteric food. Car rides can also upset his tummy. Sage is a loving, playful, and loyal companion ready to find his forever home. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  [Muddy Paws can also suggest a vet with a reduced cost for alters.]  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2351349##

Story
Sadie is a young Pitbull Terrier (born 2022) who is hoping for a new family who will play with her and teach her new things.  She is friendly with people of all ages as well as other pets.  The perfect home for Sadie would be with a family who has time to spend with her and give her the appropriate training that she needs.  She is leash trained and knows some commands.   Sadie does well in a crate, but may need a little help with potty training.   She won't make messes in her kenneI and if she's able to go outside within 30 minutes after drinking water, she'll be OK.   A fenced in yard is needed in her new home, she has lots of energy and would love to be able to run around and play outside.  When she comes inside, she'll be very happy to rest in your lap and give kisses! The suggested adoption donation for Sadie is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Story
The Boy Who Lived: Meet Harry Potter Age: 21 Months | Weight: 50lbs | Special Power: Parvo Survivor & Professional Cuddler They say some of the best things in life take a little extra time and patience. Harry Potter has been waiting for his "forever home" for over a year—that’s over 400 days of wishing and hoping. A True Survivor Harry isn’t just a handsome, slate-gray charmer; he’s a miracle. Having survived the deadly Parvovirus as a tiny pup, he has a zest for life that is absolutely infectious. He conquered the odds once, and now he’s looking for a partner to help him conquer the world. Best of all? Harry is already house trained and crate trained! He treats his crate like his very own Gryffindor Common Room—it’s his safe, quiet space where he goes to relax and recharge. Because he’s already mastered the "magic" of house manners, you can skip the puppy accidents and go straight to the fun stuff! The Ultimate Tri-Wizard Athlete Are you looking for a reason to get outside? Harry is your guy! He’s a high-energy athlete who thrives in the fresh air. His Quidditch Pitch: A big, fenced-in yard where he can zoom to his heart's content, no broomstick required. His Motivation: He is extremely food-motivated. If you have a treat, you have his undivided attention (and his big heart). His Growth Potential: While he’s a strong boy who currently thinks "leash walking" is an Olympic rowing event, his love for treats makes him a dream to train. Since he’s already mastered the crate, you can focus all your training "charms" on helping him become a leash-walking pro. A Soulful Connection Harry is a "velcro dog" in the making. While he can be a little shy or "Muggle-wary" around strangers, once you are in his inner circle, you are there for life. He is looking for a patient soul who understands that the best friendships aren't built in a day, but are well worth the wait. Harry’s Wishlist: An Active Lifestyle: Someone who loves long walks or backyard play as much as he does. Patience & Training: A human who sees his "counter surfing" as him just looking for the Marauder's Map (or snacks!) and can use positive reinforcement to help him become a polished gentleman. A Quiet Start: A home where he can settle in at his own pace. The Only Apple of Your Eye: Harry is dog-selective and hasn't met cats, so he’d prefer to be your one-and-only or meet a very compatible canine sibling. Ready to be Harry’s Hero? Don’t let this survivor wait another day. If you have a fenced yard, a pocket full of treats, and a heart ready for a loyal, house-trained companion, Harry is waiting for you. Harry has spent half his life in rescue. He has the strength, the spirit, and the love—he just needs his "chosen one."   The suggested adoption donation for Harry is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
