Story
FOSTER UPDATE: Three cheers for foster parents! Welcome to a little "magic moment" of rescue... Nova Lee's foster mom has been working with her on "stay" for some time and we are happy to share that it's been worth every minute. Nova Lee is no longer a door bolter! This smart girl is heading on to her next command "place," so her future family can look forward to a very smart, well-behaved sweetheart that's probably better trained than any teenager in the house... Nova Lee is a fun-loving Boxer Terrier who was born in April of 2016!  Nova Lee is a smart, busy girl who loves playing fetch, long walks, squirrel watching, and yard games; she's also quite the explorer so will need a backyard with a 6' fence to keep her close to home. She is a friendly girl who gets along with all people but she does NOT enjoy sharing her space with other dogs or cats.... as far as Nova's concerned she's the only 4-legged friend you'll need! She knows basic commands like "sit," "shake," and "ball," but her future family might be interested in working on "stay" --  Nova has learned indoor manners and is perfectly content keeping your spot on the couch warm while you're away from home. Because of these good manners she is not kenneled regularly, but on the rare occassion when she is (out of town visits with family, for example) she pouts for a bit but settles down on her own. Nova is 100% housebroken and will whine to indicate that she needs to go outside to potty. Nova is working on her leash manners... she gets excited and pulls but is working through it with her foster family. According to her foster mom, Nova growls when you play tug of war with her but in a playful way; however, due to her high energy and playful personaiity we think that any kids in her future home should be over the age of 15. Recently, her foster mom discovered that Nova has taken a liking to a particular house slipper... she says that Nova doesn't chew on it she just carries it to her bed and sleeps with it like a stuffed animal! This sweetheart is eager to find a family that will give her the attention, love, and all the birthday cake she deserves! NOTICE:  Nova is dog reactive and is working with a trainer on this behavior.  However, she WILL REQUIRE adopter to work with a trainer free of charge to provide a continuity to her training and help her transition to a new home. The suggested adoption donation for Nova Lee is $265. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Say hello to Ronan (b. 10/2021) a box/pit mix.  Ronan is a loving and sweet energetic pup. He loves to play hard with his foster sister, but equally loves to cuddle up on the couch with her and me afterwards. Ronan is a very happy/good natured pup - he always walks with a pep in his step and has the biggest smile on his face no matter what he is doing. He is high energy. He does not yet realize how big he is (almost as tall as me on his back legs - I am 4’11) and sometimes struggles to control his energy when he is excited, but has been making great improvements with training. He learned sit, shake, and stay very quick and is working on lay down and jumping when he is excited now.  The suggested adoption donation for Ronan is $375.  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2020 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $241,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter to take the pet to be altered at NHS free of charge. Alterations are REQUIRED for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The contract states the alter must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or adopter will be in breach of contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alter to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately after the procedure is complete. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. Say hello to Diesel and Max - these two don't go far without the other being nearby!  Diesel is a Boxer/Pit mix and was born approximately July 2018.  He loves to cuddle and enjoys anyone who will give him attention - especially kids and babies!  He likes to wrestle with Max, play with dog toys and go on short walks.  He will follow some commands, such as "sit", "down" and "shake".  They don't need a lot of space inside the house because they'll probably be as close to you as possible!  They would enjoy a fenced yard with a little room to stretch their legs now and then.   The suggested adoption donation for Diesel and Max is $500, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. Story
Rasta (b 7/2021) a Boxer/Pit mix.  Rasta is looking for his furever home.  He would like a home with a fenced in yard, preferably a 6 ft fence, he can jump shorter ones. He loves to cuddle. He’ll do just about anything for food and expects a treat and bone when he goes in his “house” (crate). Loves bones and ice cubes. Great swimmer and loves sprinklers. Trained to sleep in his bed on the floor. He gets cold in the winter so enjoys sweaters. He nibbles with his front teeth when excited. Does not like his nails trimmed, high pitched noises, sudden movements. Does not like negative tones in voices. He is good with small dogs.  Because of him not likely sudden movements or high pitched sounds older children would be best.  A perfect home for Rasta would be with someone who can work with him regularly and be home with him. He also enjoys car rides, chewing on sticks, walks and swimming.  Are you Rasta’s furever home? The suggested adoption donation for Rasta is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Story
Gracie is a very sweet 4 year old Boxer in need of a loving home with lots of room to run & play & be active. She is extremely active but is kennel trained & will be obedient for the right owner. She has a nervous energy about her & a dominant personality so would be best alone or with a very submissive housemate. We are rehoming her because our house has gotten to be too active for her nervous energy & she is competing for alpha position with our male so they have been fighting & neither will back down. We have a 9 year old son & don't want him (or anyone else) to get hurt. Please reach out with any questions about our girl.

Lucy is sweet & playful. She is extremely friendly & loves children. I drove all the way to Greenville, SC to pick her up & bring her back to Nebraska for a better shot at finding a forever home. She's been out in the elements her entire life & deserves to be inside, cuddled up in a warm doggy bed this winter. Lucy is up-to-date on her vaccinations and is also microchipped. I am currently potty training and crate training her at my home so that her new parent will have a head start. If you love being loved & adored, then Lucy is the right pup for you. She is extremely affectionate, so I'd love it if her new parent possessed that same character trait. She has a brand-new crate, toys, a water & food bowl.

Bernadette is wondering where oh where can her family be. Bernie is such an incredible girl. She loves long walks and sniffing game trails for hours on end. Bernie is a very smart black nose cur mix that’s just over 3 years young. She is always looking for attention and love, she wants nothing more than to kiss faces, love on her people and play with them too. She’s known for her hilarious sploot lay down position. She is an energetic and lively young lady and she deserves all the love and care in the world. We thought Bernie needed to be the only dog but we have discovered she can be in a home with a submissive, low key dog but no cats. She has play dates with a couple of the dogs at the shelter and has a blast. She loves treats of all kinds and she will do whatever is asked to do for a food reward. If you think this intelligent young baby is right for you, please apply at https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org The adoption fee is $250 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission, we then choose the best applicant for our dog.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an application found at www.townandcountryhumanesociety.org or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Story
Ruger is a Boxer mix, born March 2023.  He is a sweet little man who loves his soft beds and wants to be near people. He came to his foster home as a stray and has discovered that he loves playing in the yard and exploring. Ruger loves chewing on his toys and is working on not nipping/biting when playing with people. He is a smart boy who sits on command and listens well. Crate training comes naturally to him, he doesn't mind going into his crate and he sleeps through the night. In the morning he likes to take his sweet time waking up which is pretty cute! Right now, Ruger is on antibiotics and isn't fully vaccinated yet so he hasn't been introduced to other dogs but his sweet demeanor makes us think that he will get along fine with other dogs. If Ruger seems like your kind of guy, fill out an application today! The suggested adoption fee for Ruger is $365.  Bullies-N-Beyond ResQ Inc. is a 501(c)3, non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption donation fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR will have been administered their age appropriate vaccines which may include DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. All dogs will also be adopted out as already altered if of age, for those not of age, a voucher will be provided. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. BNBR does not adopt on a first serve basis. Story
Melvin is a young, friendly, Pit Bull Terrier who was scheduled for euthanasia in a Missouri shelter. Thankfully this sweet, goofy boy found his way to rescue and is learning all about the good life!  Melvin loves the company of people, including children, and looks forward to visits from the grandchildren in his foster home! Melvin enjoys the safety of family life and likes to be close to his humans. He's an active boy who likes playing fetch, tug, and taking brisk walks in nature or, hey, around the neighborhood works too! While Melvin is a young guy with energy to match, he also appreciates a lazy evening of couch snuggles after a busy day of play. Melvin is a quick learner and knows several commands; he also knows appropriate bathroom behavior (take it outside!) and he's comfortable using a kennel. Melvin doesn't always appreciate the company of other dogs (or cats) and will need to be the only animal in the home. As an active, smart boy, Melvin will need a 6' fenced yard to keep him safe and close to home. We think Melvin's furever future includes an active family with children over the age of 8, who are curious about the world and want to offer this handsome boy the best life has to offer!   Before applying to adopt Melvin, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. The suggested adoption donation for Melvin is $265. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter for a free spay/neuter procedure at Val Verde Animal Hospital. Spay/neuters completed elsewhere will be reimbursed $80/dog or $55/cat once proof of alteration has been received by Muddy Paws. Alterations are REQUIRED for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The adoption contract states alters must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or the adopter will be in breach of the contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alteration to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately following the procedure. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.  ##1196657##

Story
Say hello to Quinn/Gurl, a Pit bull Terrier mix born approximately on October 12, 2021. This pretty girl prefers to go by Quinn and loves to be by her people and is the perfect "velcro dog". Quinn loves to play with her foster siblings and her foster thinks she would thrive with another dog in the home. Older children would be a great match for Quinn's energy! Now don't let her fool ya, this girl has got hops so a 6-foot fence would be best for this girl to be able to run around in the backyard. So who is ready to adopt this sweet girl and be the best part of her new ticket in life?  The suggested adoption donation for Quinn/Gurl is $325. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Before applying to adopt Quinn/Gurl, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.
