Story
Dennis the menace was a pretty cute kid. Therefore I am cute too! I am an adult, with puppy-like exuberance for life and food! I arrived at the rescue with my wife (Dee Dee) and our kid (Donna) after being left in our backyard when our "family" moved. Can you imagine? I gave them 3 years of devotion, and they just leave me like an old newspaper..... So, enough about my sorted past, let's look at my BRIGHT FUTURE!!! I am a handsome guy, full of love for life. I love female dogs, male dogs are more challenging because I am an alpha sort of dog, with the females I am fine- even dominant females like my Dee Dee. I am a good 60lbs, I'm such a big boy who makes for great cuddles! I am a good protector of your home and my people. I won't let those pesky neighbors over, unless you invite them ;) I have lots of fun running and playing and I would be a great outdoor adventure buddy! Let's get on the trails and go! Dennis can only be adopted in the local area. Local adoption fee is $200.

His birthday is around June of 2020, a pandemic puppy! He came to rescue over two years ago with his deaf sister, Amara.. They had each other but didn't know that humans could communicate with them. Seeing the light bulb come on has been so fun! Angus knows " Come, Kennel Up, and Sit" but everything else, he reads from his foster mom's body language. Angus loves to play outside with his sister and smell all the smells. He loves to have toys so much that he'lloften race inside so he can gather up all the toys (especially from his sister's kennel before we notices) and hoard them in his kennel. He has a wonderful relationship with Amara, his sister. It would be nice if they were adopted them together but it's not required. We ask that he be the only other animal in the home, except for his sister, just because there's a learning curve for other animals about how to make their presence known so deaf dogs aren't "snuck up on". Angus does not have a mean bone in his body but he's a bit of a bull in a China shop kind of boy! He just likes to run fast and slide through his turns! A fenced in yard is required so Angus can be free to explore and smell all the smells. This boy will steal your heart the minute you meet him. He's always happy and greets you with a smile on his face. ##1971033##

Be still my heart, Amara is a big, sweet, loving, Deaf Dogo Argentino. She's a Pandemic Puppy with a birthday around June, 2020. She came to rescue over two and a half years ago with her deaf brother after they were dumped by their owner. They had each other but didn't know that humans could communicate with them. Seeing the light bulb come on has been so fun! Amara knows sign language for " Come, Kennel Up, and Sit" but everything else, she reads from her foster mom's body language. She is happy to please and leans in for love! Amara loves to go for car rides, play outside with her brother and smell all the smells. She likes to have toys too. So many toys! She has a wonderful relationship with Angus, her brother. We would love to see them adopted together but that isn't mandatory. We recommend that she be the only other animal in the home (except for her brother), just because there's a learning curve for other animals about how to make their presence known so deaf dogs aren't "snuck up on". This big girl is a cuddler. When she's all snuggled in, she has the sweetest snore. Once she is adopted and settles in, you'll wonder how you ever survived without her. She's the missing piece of the puzzle your life needs. A fenced in yard is required so Amara can be free to explore and smell all the smells and explore to her heart's content without needing to keep you in sight so she can "hear" you. Meet Rosie, a super sweet girl with a heart as big as Texas! Rosie had a bit of an adventurous stint as a stray, but now she's all set to find her perfect forever home.Rosie is a furry socialite who gets along wonderfully with her fellow doggie pals. However, she does have one little quirk—cats and Rosie aren't exactly a match made in heaven. Those frisky felines tend to trigger her playful chase instincts! When it comes to humans, Rosie is a total cuddlebug. She's convinced she's a lap dog and won't hesitate to hop right up for some quality snuggle time. But here's the fun part: Rosie's got a spirited teenage attitude. When she's told "no" or caught doing something she shouldn't, she's not one to back down quietly—she'll talk back with all the sass!If you're ready to bring a sweet and silly addition to your family, Rosie is more than prepared for her forever home. And yes, she's absolutely transportable, so don't let the Texas distance discourage you, transport only costs $230. Apply today and let the fun begin!*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Story
PUPDATE 9.16.23 Ferguson here checking in from MNBR. My Foster mom likes to call me Fergs, Fergie, Ferg, I don’t care because I can’t hear her as longs as she doesn’t call me late for dinner. I really don’t like it when other dogs walk up on me from behind me. Because I can’t hear them coming this tends to scare me and I can react. I love food and have some food and attention aggression. If I think another furbaby is getting more than me, I can get jealous. It says I should be in a home as an only dog; however, I have been living with a foster brother for about a month and doin’ pretty well. As long as you keep your eyes on me and know my signs, I think I could live with another fursibling. I love to cuddle and give love. When you start petting me, I will not let you go until I am ready. I will let know this by a couple of friendly barks AKA reminders.  As my foster from Kentucky said I love to play, and I have been having a great time with my foster brother. I haven’t really been interested in toys, but this could change. Sometimes I get so excited I become an ankle biter, but if you grab my attention, I know I need to calm down.  I was able to make it to Forrest’s Garage Sale and meet a lot of new people. I did really good. I got to meet a couple kids and was a perfect gentleman!! I love going for rides, and do great in cars. I have the “lean” down while going around corners:) My Foster mom thinks this is funny.   Jaymi Heimbuch once said “Every white hair is one day of experience in being the very best friend you’ve ever had.” I got a lot of them and ready to be YOUR BEST FRIEND!!!  NEW TO RESCUE 8.18.23 I've been in foster care in Kentucky while I wait for my ride to MNBR. I'm the sweetest, goofy fellow who just wants to be loved and cuddled. I dance when I'm excited! I need to be the only dog. I get jealous with sharing attention. I would love playdates and walks with friends though! I don't do well with the cats - I tend to chase them. I'm free roam and fully housetrained. I like to play with toys! I do get into the garbage every once in a while. I will counter surf because I'm very food motivated. I love to snuggle in need with you. I would do best with a fenced yard. I'm good with kids, but respectful kids of course. I'm perfect on a leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2024, 7:34 pm

Story
Pupdate- 4.16.24 Hey friends, I'm Cooper! I'm an awesome boy with quite a story.  I will start with telling you a little about the amazing progress I have made in a short amount of time.  Pull up a chair , I can’t wait to tell you about myself…   Mr. Cooper LOVE people and affection. If you are interested in having  someone  be your loyal shadow, this guy is for you! He is an extremely strong and muscular dog weighing in at a solid 62 pounds. You should note that I eat about 3.5-4 cups of food a day. I do seem to have some digestive issues (toots), so we stick to chicken or  beef based  dog food.  I am very food motivated, so you can use food as treats…I don’t seem to know the difference ;)  When  I  first came to  my  foster mum ,   I  was: not house-trained, not crate-trained, couldn’t walk on a leash,  has some  skin issues and sores on  my  feet. But in a short 6 weeks …guess what…   I am  INCREDIBLY excited to share that  I have overcome all of the skills just listed!   I do  fall into  my  old habits of being mouthy, at times when engaging in play.  I’m not being  aggressive ,  just very excited and a lot of energy  makes me overly excited. From my foster mum:  Although Mr. Cooper LOVES kids, he does not remember his size. This paired with his energy can lead to jumping and possibly knocking over any children. Teenage children or older is recommended. Mr. Cooper also loves other dogs.  Mr. Cooper LOVES to be outside. This includes just lounging in the sun or running zoomies in the yard. His foster mum “highly” recommends a house for him “not” in the cities but instead a quiet area. He currently lives on 4 acres on a quiet dead-end cul-de-sac. He has jumped a fence in the past and his foster mum believes he would still be capable of this, so a fence is not a confinement solution for him long term. He currently runs on a 50 ft. leash lead and this seems to work well. He has stubborn streaks and will not listen if he is determined or focused on something.  He seems to have a “very” high prey drive! Although he lived with a small dog in the past, his foster mum doesn’t know how he would do. There are two small  dogs in the neighborhood now and he seems very eager to meet them but he needs to continue practicing his manners prior to meeting them (they are quite small).  Although he doesn’t bark when people knock at the door, ring the door bell, or stand in the open glass; he will stand gazing eagerly at the individual on the other side. But he doesn’t seem to bark. He  does  bark when foster mum leaves the house, so he should not in a home with any shared walls.   Cooper does not like the cold or to be cold. He LOVES to snuggle in foster mum’s softest blankets and cuddle next to her all night long. I love to lay wherever you will let me but know that I can only go where my basketball blanket is placed.  *Cooper will come with transition sessions with his trainer to help make sure he has a successful transition to his new home as well as being able to communicate with the trainer before meeting Cooper. We love him and are ecstatic he is ready to find his forever family! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2024, 7:34 pm
