Story
Dennis the menace was a pretty cute kid. Therefore I am cute too! I am an adult, with puppy-like exuberance for life and food! I arrived at the rescue with my wife (Dee Dee) and our kid (Donna) after being left in our backyard when our "family" moved. Can you imagine? I gave them 3 years of devotion, and they just leave me like an old newspaper..... So, enough about my sorted past, let's look at my BRIGHT FUTURE!!! I am a handsome guy, full of love for life. I love female dogs, male dogs are more challenging because I am an alpha sort of dog, with the females I am fine- even dominant females like my Dee Dee. I am a good 60lbs, I'm such a big boy who makes for great cuddles! I am a good protector of your home and my people. I won't let those pesky neighbors over, unless you invite them ;) I have lots of fun running and playing and I would be a great outdoor adventure buddy! Let's get on the trails and go! Dennis can only be adopted in the local area. Local adoption fee is $200.

Good With Dogs: Yes Good With Cats: unknown Good With Kids: unknown Kennel Trained: Yes Age: Approx. 3-1/2 Years Adoption Fee: $ 450 Fee Includes: Current vaccinations, microchip If you want to be considered for adoption, fill out an application at emotionalrescuedogs.org Amara has been in Rescue for two and a half YEARS, looking for her special family! Be still my heart, Amara is a big, sweet, loving, Deaf Dogo Argentino. She's a Pandemic Puppy with a birthday around June, 2020. She came to rescue over two and a half years ago with her deaf brother after they were dumped by their owner. They had each other but didn't know that humans could communicate with them. Seeing the light bulb come on has been so fun! Amara knows sign language for " Come, Kennel Up, and Sit" but everything else, she reads from her foster mom's body language. She is happy to please and leans in for love! Amara loves to go for car rides, play outside with her brother and smell all the smells. She likes to have toys too. So many toys! She has a wonderful relationship with Angus, her brother. We would love to see them adopted together but that isn't mandatory. We recommend that she be the only other animal in the home (except for her brother), just because there's a learning curve for other animals about how to make their presence known so deaf dogs aren't "snuck up on". This big girl is a cuddler. When she's all snuggled in, she has the sweetest snore. Once she is adopted and settles in, you'll wonder how you ever survived without her. She's the missing piece of the puzzle your life needs. A fenced in yard is required so Amara can be free to explore and smell all the smells and explore to her heart's content without needing to keep you in sight so she can "hear" you. Seeing the light bulb come on has been so fun! Angus knows " Come, Kennel Up, and Sit" but everything else, he reads from his foster mom's body language. Angus loves to play outside with his sister and smell all the smells. He loves to have toys so much that he'lloften race inside so he can gather up all the toys (especially from his sister's kennel before we notices) and hoard them in his kennel. He has a wonderful relationship with Amara, his sister. It would be nice if they were adopted them together but it's not required. We ask that he be the only other animal in the home, except for his sister, just because there's a learning curve for other animals about how to make their presence known so deaf dogs aren't "snuck up on". Angus does not have a mean bone in his body but he's a bit of a bull in a China shop kind of boy! He just likes to run fast and slide through his turns! A fenced in yard is required so Angus can be free to explore and smell all the smells. This boy will steal your heart the minute you meet him. He's always happy and greets you with a smile on his face. ##1971033##

Story
Meet Kenny! Kenny is everything you would want in a dog. He is extremely friendly with every person and pup he meets. He loves to go for walks and then snuggle on the couch afterwards. While he is a big dog, he doesn’t realize it and loves to be on your lap (well as much as he can fit). He is wonderful with his foster family’s toddler. He likes to greet him every morning with a kiss! He is also house trained! Recently Kenny spent some time at Lucy’s Doggy Daycare and he did amazing in the big pups park! He’s also good with small dogs and cats. While Kenny can be crated while you are away, he is not a fan of being in the crate while you are home, which is alright since he is not a destructive dog unless it’s a good chew toy! Kenny is a boxer mix about 2.5 years old and 65 pounds.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Story
Meet Ruthie! She is 8 years old and weighs about 43 pounds. I think she looks like a Dalmatian mix but she has double dew claws like a great Pyrenese! We know from seeing sooo many DNA tests that she’s probably 10 breeds but if you want my best guess, there it is! Ruthie was found stray and came to us about 3 weeks ago. She was super shut down at the rescue and we thought maybe she didn’t feel well so she went to the vet and her bloodwork came back great! She’s healthy, but she was sad, so I brought her home to foster her. She has been SO GOOD with all of our other 7 dogs, boys and girls, large and small, PLUSSSS she’s GOOD WITH THE CAT! She hasn’t had a single accident and we’ve left her out for short periods of time while we are gone and she’s been perfect! She loves to sleep and snuggle and she’s way happier here in a home with people! She would make a very easy addition to any family!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Wondering how I’m still available?  Me too!  I might seem high maintenance being I need a fenced yard and another dog to play with in my forever home but I see it as making it easier for you.  You can just open the door and out we go to potty and play! You’ll find me to be super playful and incredibly sweet.  I enjoy cuddling with both people and dogs.  I’ve not quite gotten brave enough to check out the cat that is here.  So far the closest I’ve gotten is a sniff in the air. I’m potty trained (unless you rely on using a leash, where I’ll hold it until I’m back inside, which is why I’m asking for a fenced yard). Perhaps we can work on using a leash together as I have a tendency to pull.  But I do know some commands, such as “sit, kennel and outside.”  Speaking of which, I know how to use a kennel but I’m not a fan of one.  I also have been known to bark at strangers out the windows and when you come back home.  I don’t count the times I bark when other dogs start it.  I’m just playing along.  Here is a summary of what foster-mom says: “She's absolutely perfect. Still young and playful but loves to be a couch potato and cuddle. She loves to get super close and tuck her head into your neck. She loves other dogs but needs to take it slow with dogs who are over friendly and get in her face. She does warm up eventually though. She's eager to learn and would benefit from training, especially good recall training as she does love to run.” Do you think we would be a good fit? *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs.
