Story
Gypsy is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Gypsy is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy does well with all dogs but gets along best with male dogs. She is normally good around small dogs but occasionally mistakes one for a toy when she is over-excited. So she is not recommended for homes with small dogs. She is not too fond of puppies getting in her face either. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. She could perhaps use more obedience training with someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is very sweet. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She must be in the house as a loved family member, and she needs a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited and we now know that comes from the Boxer in her. Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds (she only weighed 35 pounds when we got her). Gypsy is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. We used the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain this) and she is now negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Columbus, Cincinnati, or Akron Ohio. She is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted.
