Story
Gabby is a cute, lovable tripod, but she doesn't need any sympathy. She's a confident and headstrong girl who needs a confident handler/adopter. Gabby has been trained with rules and boundaries and she thrives to her best potential in that environment. It helps keep her prey drive down when she sees cats or squirrels and interestingly enough, she doesn't bark at them. She has been staying with her trainer, who has taught her to group walk with other dogs of different sizes, though small dogs are still best kept separated from Gabby. One of her favorite things to do is play tug of war. During the exercise, commands are used such as "heel", "side", "middle", and "front". She will fetch a ball. A large 10" or larger Jolly or Giggle ball is used, so she doesn't have to bend too far to pick it up. She has also learned "place" which comes in handy for many situations. Example: "place" command when a visitor comes over. Gabby is not allowed on the furniture, but if it's something you condone, recommend only allowing it on cue (with permission). Gabby has acquired the ideal indoor etiquette- chilling out. She likes to chew on hard, safe toys. Even though she has some male doggy friends at the trainer's home she likes to rough house with, we want to set Gabby up for complete success and recommend she be adopted into a home where she is the queen bee, only pet. Set your rules and stick to them, and Gabby will be a joy to have, providing loyal, affectionate companionship the rest of her days.

Story
Biggie is a gentle giant who loves to be around his people. He will happily accept many pets and cuddles all day every day and is looking for someone to give him all the love he deserves. This boy enjoys going on walks and likes to play with a variety of toys. Biggie is not a fan of small children, but would do great in a home with older kids (older teens) and adults. If you think Biggie would be a great addition to your home, please stop by the shelter to meet this lovebug. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Weight: 85 Age: 5yrs 5mths 2wks

Story
Special adoption-- MEET ROCCO! It’s not often that a veterinary hospital has a dog up for adoption, but Rocco is a very special case — and he’s ready to find his forever home. Rocco is a 1 year, 7 month old neutered male Dogo Argentino, weighing around 80 lbs, with a heart just as big as his size. He is truly a big ball of love and energy who just wants someone to give him the time, guidance, and affection he deserves. We have known Rocco since he was just a baby, and over the past 4 months we have done extensive rehabilitation work with him. During that time, we have: • Neutered him • Updated all of his vaccinations • Helped him heal several wounds • Worked to get healthy weight back on him • Started basic training He has come such a long way, and we are so proud of his progress. While we have started working on training, he will need continued structure and guidance to help him become the perfect pooch. You may notice in some pictures that his left rear leg looks slightly different. When Rocco was about 8 months old, he broke his leg. An orthopedic surgeon repaired it, but as he grew, the bone didn’t heal perfectly straight. The good news? It does not slow him down one bit! He runs, plays, and lives life like nothing ever happened. He will need to stay on a daily anti-inflammatory/pain medication, as he can get a little sore at times — but it doesn’t stop his zest for life. The ideal home for Rocco: • Someone committed to loving and continuing to work with him • Older kids (he doesn’t realize he’s not a small dog!) • A home comfortable with large, energetic breeds • He does well with other dogs but may need reminders to play gently Rocco truly deserves a forever home where he will be loved and given the stability he needs. He has so much love to give — he just needs someone willing to give him a chance. If you’re interested in adopting this sweet 80-lb love bug, or know someone who might be, please call our clinic at 214-547-8387 to learn more. Let’s help Rocco find the forever home he deserves. Disclaimer: Rocco is participating in the iRehome program. All iRehome dogs are being rehomed by their current owner. All iRehome behavioral and medical information is provided by the dog's current owner. TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with the current owner prior to completing the adoption process.

Story
✨ Meet Cleopatra ✨ Cleopatra is a female, approximately 1-year-old sweetheart who was found as a stray. Thankfully, we were able to secure a foster home right away so she didn’t have to enter a shelter—and she’s been blossoming ever since. 💛 Cleopatra prefers slow, thoughtful introductions, but once she trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate and eager for love. She’s settling in beautifully and continues to show just how special she is. What we’ve learned about Cleopatra so far: 🐾 Not microchipped (lost dog update) 🐾 Very affectionate and seeks pets and attention 🐾 Not food aggressive 🐾 Knows “stay” 🐾 Does great staying home alone 🐾 Pretty good on leash 🐾 Loves car rides (so much she’s hard to get out of the car!) 🐾 Loves to play — especially with her stuffy 🐾 Not a fetch fan, but playful and curious 🐾 Prefers being indoors 🐾 Not treat motivated (she’s more about experiences and connection) Cleopatra’s behavior and play style suggest she is very young at heart. She is absolutely fascinated with all things water—from chasing sprinklers (no matter how cold or wet!) to carefully supervising pool work like a tiny lifeguard. 💦🐶 She recently went on a calm car ride through the park to observe other dogs. She handled it very well, only letting out a couple of soft whimpers when dogs got close, and stayed relaxed and curious the entire time. Overall, a wonderful confidence-building experience for her. 🚨 Health Update: We are currently working to get Cleopatra fully vaccinated and spayed. 🏡 Ideal Home: Cleopatra will thrive with an adopter who is patient and gentle, giving her a few days to build trust. Offering encouragement and opportunities to grow her self-confidence will help her shine in any environment. 💕 If you’re willing to move at Cleopatra’s pace, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal, loving companion. 👉 Adopt Cleopatra: https://linktr.ee/pawprintsofhoperescue #AdoptCleopatra #RescueDog #AdoptDontShop #FosterSaved #YoungAndSweet #PatientLove #WaterDog #ForeverHomeWanted #RescueIsMyFavoriteBreed
