Vadar has the following requirements for his future home:-Must be willing to let him be the one and only pet in the household so he can get ALL the loves.-Must be willing to accept his kisses and all the slobber that comes with them.-Must not be intimidated by his strength, and must be pretty strong yourself to keep up with him.-Must keep him in good supply of treats. He`s a dog who knows what he wants, and deserves to get exactly that! We know it`s a very specific type of household to meet all these requirements, and we need your help to find it! Vadar is a 3YO Dogo Argentino who came into the shelter as a stray on 1/20/23. He`s not his best self around other pets, so he`d need to be the only one in the household. He has a high prey drive and tries to pull you towards other animals when he sees them - and he`s very strong when he wants to be! If he can`t see any other pets he typically walks quite well on a leash with only a little pulling. When he does pull he`s such a big strong boy that only the strongest can handle him. His name is Vadar! May the force be with you!Vadar is such a sweet boy when it comes to people. He`s very loving! He loves to be pet and is very easygoing - he had no issue with us picking up his paws to put a harness on him. He enjoys eating treats and always makes sure to take them gently from your hand. He`ll sit on command for one, but you have to tell him to do it multiple times before he listens. He can work on it! He typically has an average energy level.

Howdy! My name is Big Rock, but you can call me Rocky. I am a Dogo Argentino Mix weighing in at about 100 lbs. I am looking for an adopter that has experience with my breed and handling needs. I will need someone willing to train me to my best potential. I do have my basics down, like being fully crate trained, house trained, and I walk pretty well on a leash. I am currently in a foster home with small and a medium sized dogs, and am doing well! However, a slow introduction is highly recommended. Due to my size, older/considerate kids only please. No cats as I am not the biggest fan. I am truly a big goof ball and I love playing in the water. The tech’s at my vet office call me a lover boy, as I truly am as sweet as can be. I am neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. My adoption fee is $200 locally in Houston, TX and $550 out of state (includes health cert and travel fee). He is extremely sweet! He needs a little love and training. Rocky is crate trained and working on potty training. He’s up to date on vaccines, heartworm & flea prevention, and is neutered. He is so full of love for the right family. Due to his jumping and high energy, I would likely not recommend him going to a home with children under 12.
