Story
Zane is a gentle giant, whose trademark is to be lazy, quiet, and chilling all the time. He is perfect for a laidback family, as they will find him laying next to them, and being velcro.
This 3.5 year-old boy is the full package — sweet, affectionate, calm and full of love!
Whether he’s goofing around with his friends, soaking up attention, or showing off his happy tail wags, Zane is pure sunshine in dog form. ☀️
Zane was brought to a high kill Houston shelter as a stray alongside his buddy Rascal and the two have been nothing short of amazing together. Their sweet and loving disposition bought them a ticket to life and they were rescued. Zane and Rascal can be adopted together or separately, as they have two very different personality. Zane likes to chill, while Rascal likes to play. So if they are adopted together, Rascal must have a friend for himself to play with and keep him busy, as Zane rather chill than play.
Either way, this handsome boy is so ready to bring endless fun and affection to a lucky forever home.
Zane is about 3.5 years old, and currently weighs 65 lb. He is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. He is currently being fostered in Houston but can travel to any state to the right home.

His adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and Transport Fee to several states in the United States.
Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.
Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them.
Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible.
