Story
Beautiful TICA cat show award winner!Royce is a big cat that is reminiscent of the breed Maine Coon. He is a very beautiful boy and has a sweet personality. He likes to be held and carried and near the one he loves. He has lived in multi-cat households and is a dominant male. A cat savvy pet-parent would be needed to introduyce him into another multi-cat family.  Since he is so very affectionate it would be nice for him to have a home without other cats so he could get all the attention. Royce was adopted from our organization when he was a kitten by a couple that showed Maine Coon cats. Sadly, the woman developed a severe respiratory disorder and had to give up all her show cats and Royce. That is why Royce has been shown at TICA cat shows and won two awards. He is available to be met in the caregivers home.       August 14, 2023, 12:02 am

Story
Tallulah Gin aka Lula has enchanting vibrant green eyes and most people say she is really gorgeous!  She is 6 years old with very unusual markings being she looks like she is a black long hair and yet has grey with slight calico markings. She is very furry and would become matted without being in a home that will groom here. She sometimes needs a sanitary clip on her behind. Lula is playful with interactive toys like the feather wand and she likes plastic lizard toys or wadded up paper balls. She likes comfy sofas and chairs and is a pretty lounge lizard. She has lived in the same home since she was a kitten and the couple is giving Tallulah Gin up because they have new grandbabies that visit and Lula will react by biting or scratching them.    Like many cats Lula has petting aggression which is often misunderstood. Petting aggression is easily manageable by just not petting the cat in areas it doesn’t like or not petting in the same place over and over, or not petting when they are not in the mood. Simply put, petting aggression can be managed by learning what areas the cat likes petting and avoiding areas it doesn't and if a cat strikes when being petted 5 times just stop petting at 4 times before the cat gets disturbed. Many cats when first rescued may exhibit signs of petting aggression and will swipe when you pet them because they have not been petted in such a long while and the stimulus is too much for them. When a home is found that they will be happy in and they learn to trust their caregiver and they feel safe the extreme behavior simply isn’t as apparent. We use a back scratcher to pet all new rescue cats to get them used to us and petting. Overstimulation is often the cause of petting aggression and a cat that hasn't been petted for a while can just feel too many feelings and that overwhelm them. A back scratcher is a good tool to build trust and bond with any cat. It allows the cat to experience pleasure and for the pet-parent to learn what feels good to the cat.  Lula currently lives in her ordinal home and we would love a foster parent to be able to help her live without the stress of the grandkids.  If Tallulah Gin is of interest tell me about yourself and others in the home as well as other pets. She will be happy in a home without children. Community Animal Network, a non-profit organization founded by DiAnna Pfaff-Martin in 1996. Mickiey is a beautiful and friendly Maine Coon mix. Mickey is being adopted through the San Gabriel Valley Animal Advocates. If you are interested in adopting Mickey, please submit an adoption application at http://www.sgvaa.org and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Your adoption donation allows us to rescue the next kitty from the streets and pay for all their health and medical needs. Most of our adoptable pets live in loving foster homes. We can arrange meet-and-greets with our foster families, at our live-in habitats in the West Covina and El Monte Petcos, as well as at the Huntington Beach (Edinger) PetSmart. SGVAA is an all-volunteer, non-profit rescue organization serving the San Gabriel Valley area. For more information on how you can help your community, please visit: www.sgvaa.org Their Adoption Process If you are interested in any of our adoptable pets or have additional questions, please fill out an adoption application and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Since we are an all-volunteer organization, it may take us within 24-48 hours to respond. Our little fur babies are so adorable that sometimes we get multiple applications for one pet! So if the pet you are interested in is no longer available there is no need to worry! We have plenty of friends who are furry! As part of the adoption process, we screen each new potential owner, and do home visits to ensure that an animal and owner are a good match. Once your adoption application has been approved, we will have you fill out a Pet Promise Certificate (adoption contract) *SGVAA’s adoption donation allows us to rescue the next kitty from the streets and pay for all of their health and welfare needs (spay, neuter, shots, deworming, flea meds, microchip) *We also provide free home delivery of your new kitty/kitties! About This Rescue SGVAA is dedicated to the protection and humane treatment of pets in the San Gabriel Valley area. We encourage people to rescue a homeless animal instead of buying one. Our organization also educates the community on the importance of early vaccinations for fatal and easily preventable diseases. We also advocate spaying or neutering to reduce pet overpopulation. Once an animal is in our care we vaccinate all rescues against disease & provide needed health care, fight pet overpopulation by spaying or neutering all rescues, and provide lifetime shelter and care to any rescued animal that is not adopted. Come Meet Their Pets Most of our adoptable pets live in loving foster homes. For interested adopters, we can arrange meet-and-greets with our foster families, at our live-in habitats in the West Covina and El Monte Petcos, as well as at the Huntington Beach (Edinger) Petsmart. Story
Hello, my name is Percy! I am a wonderful kitty who needs a loving, forever home. I was living on the street and a nice lady rescued me (and my two friends, Tabby and Moxie). I am a super sweet kitty, I love pats, cuddles, and sitting in your lap. I am also very playful and have so much fun with a wand toy and playing with Tabby and Moxie. Churu treats are simply the yummiest, so I hope you have a lot of those! I have a great purr and the softest fur.   I definitely am a Maincoon mix. I am about 2 years old, up to date on my vaccinations, neutered, FIV and Felv negative, and microchipped...I mean, what more could you want? I would love to go to a home with a kitty friend, or better yet with Tabby or Moxie (or both!) I think I would do well with kids, as I did well with a 2 year old and 7 year old when I was initially rapped and in a cage. Now that I roam freely, I hide when the kids come in. But I think if I were able to get used to them I would be fine. I have not been introduced to dogs yet. I am a beautiful, loving, playful, kitty and I would love to have you as my family. Percy has been neutered, defleaded, dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, and had a dental cleaning when he was neutered.   If you are interested in meeting this sweet fella please email us for an application to email adoptions@lbsn.org to request an application. Once we receive your application back, we can set up a time for you to meet him. A donation of $175 is required to adopt him.   April 19, 2024, 2:29 am

Story
Look no further, you've found me, your ideal kitty! My name is Tabby, and I am a big, mushy, love. I was out on the street for at least 11 months before the lady who was feeding me finally trapped me. I am a big boy who loves attention. I enjoy getting pats and love being brushed. Although I'm not much of a lap cat, I love to sit right beside you and get loves. I am playful, I love wand toys, and playing with my kitty friends. The way to my heart is through Churu treats, which I believe, are the best things on Earth. I get along well with my two kitty friends, Percy and Moxie. I am a healthy boy, FIV and Felv negative, am up to date on my vaccinations, am neutered, and have a microchip. My age is estimated at 3 years old. When I was first caught, my foster kept me in a comfy cage while I was healing from my surgery and acclimating to the other two kitties caught at the same time. While in the cage I was really good with her two kids, 2 and 7 years old...I would let them give me treats and everything. Now that I'm out of the cage, I hide when they come in the room...so I think I would be fine with kids, but just would have to get used to them. As for dogs, I have not been introduced to them yet. I would love a home with a kitty friend, better yet, adopt my friend Percy or Moxie...or all three of us!!! I hope to meet you soon, forever family! Tabs has been neutered, defleaded, dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, and had a dental cleaning when he was neutered.   If you are interested in meeting this sweet fella please email us for an application to email adoptions@lbsn.org to request an application. Once we receive your application back, we can set up a time for you to meet him. A donation of $175 is required to adopt him. If adoption and his darling brother/buddy (Percy) together we do both for $275.   April 19, 2024, 2:29 am

Story
Emma is a sweet senior cat that needs to be the only cat in the house. Looking to rehome her with someone that likes to relax at home and cuddle with their pet. All she wants is cuddles, affection and tuna flakes. I am a busy entrepreneur and simply don’t have the time and she also does not get along with the other pets in the home. If you want a sweet, purring kitty to watch TV with, Emma is a great companion. She will take awhile to get used to any changes though. She is very timid and shy and will require patience.

Story
Friendly, Easy Going and CalmI'M BELLA THE MOM: My coloring looks like it has been done at an expensive salon using a color technique called Ombre. My fur is darker and then it brightens at the ends to a rich sable reddish brown that glistens in the sunlight. I’m super relaxed and calm. One of my daughters, Java, is just like me. I love petting and playing with my kittens and lounging on a cat tree. I’m not interested in going outside after being out there already! I was lost and all alone outside except when “the boys” came around…. and you know what that means!  I had kittens! A very nice person fed me every meal. She was 90 years old and when she died her son moved in to fix up the house to sell and I had to find another place to be. Community Animal Network made room for me and my family and I am so very grateful. Community Animal Network didn’t separate me from my kittens like other rescues do. I’ve given my kittens a good upbringing and they have been nurtured and have had a good healthy start because I was never starving when I was pregnant like many other rescued moms.   For more info, call or text DiAnna at 949-759-3646 or email at DiAnna@animalnetwork.org. This kitty is being cared for by Community Animal Network, a non-profit organization founded by DiAnna Pfaff-Martin in 1996. C.A.N is a veterinary medical rescue that helps local animals find forever homes. The animals are cared for and raised in private homes. The founder of Community Animal Network, DiAnna Pfaff-Martin, is very particular about the quality of raising the kittens with vitamins, proper diet. A board-certified feline specialist provides the animals with their veterinary medical care and Community Animal Network offers veterinary internships to young people as young as 15 that have aspirations of becoming a vet.  Feral kittens are tamed to "pet quality" and rescue cats that are shy are disclosed and termed, "rescue quality" with a lower placement fee. With all adoptions DiAnna Pfaff-Martin gives valuable information about cat care in a "feline pet-parenting consultation" to adopters. The most current information is made available about how to keep your cat healthy, pet foods, litters and how to make your cat more affectionate and her specialty is teaching, “How To Make Cats Happy!” The AVID microchip is implanted in every cat and the chips’ registration fee is included in the adoption and the animals come with a 30-day heath commitment and return policy.
