Story
Elsa is a great cat, she actually acts like a dog and even can say bow wow (when she wants) she goes out and roams around and then comes right back home. She talks A LOT and needs a lot of attention. Besides my allergies I work crazy hours and it’s unfair to her. She’s a very special girl and I’ll miss her a lot but it makes more sense for her to have someone who can pay more attention to her. Her claws are intact and she will get your furniture but if you’re around and tell her “no” or “stop” she listens any questions feel free to call .

Story
Elusive and majestic, Monarch is just over a year old and is not a fan of shelter life. She is however a fan of her hidey holes and she's definitely a fan of some catnip! She's all about the little joys in life. She has a few cat friends here at the shelter, and a calm mannered cat friend may be all she needs to come out of her shell in her new home. Monarch is one of those cats that will flourish in a home. Shelter life can be difficult on even the most well-adjusted cats. Having their own space away from constant change allows cats to open up in ways that are almost unbelievable. Though Monarch may never be an outgoing lap cat we're hopeful in a home her true personality will shine through. Monarch is spayed and up to date on her vaccines. For more information on Monarch, call AWS at 860-354-1350 email animalwelfare.socty@snet.net or visit our website aws-shelter.org for an application Adoption Fees for Senior cats (8yrs and up) is $50 Adult Cats $200 and Kittens under a year $250.

Story
🌸 Maggie Meet Maggie — the beautiful young mama who raised her boys with love, patience, and plenty of purrs. At just a year or two old herself, she’s still got plenty of kitten energy tucked inside that caring heart. Maggie is sweet, affectionate, and gentle, with a calm presence that makes everyone around her feel at ease. She loves a quiet nap in the sunshine just as much as a little playtime with her toys. Now that her mothering days are behind her, Maggie is ready to enjoy being someone’s baby for a change! Maggie is currently in foster care, so if you’d like to meet her, please head to happylifeanimalrescue.org to register for adoption — once registered, we’ll be happy to schedule an appointment for you to meet her at our adoption center or a future event.

Story
Profile and Pics: Meet Alfred, our wonderful, resilient street survivor, ready for his forever home! Our big, beautiful boy, Alfred, came to us from one of our feeding stations about a year ago. He seemed to be an old, stiff street cat worn down by life outdoors, and with winter setting in, we brought him inside. But when our vet examined him, we learned he was much younger than he looked; it was only his injured, shattered paw and gimpy hip damaged in some unknown trauma that made Alfred seem so ancient. One year later, Alfred has absolutely blossomed in foster care. This 4-year-old boy has healed well enough to be a happy and mellow purring machine craving attention and companionship. Pat the couch next to you; he’ll be by your side in a flash. Hold up a brush, and he’ll take the lead, rubbing his chin against it, almost grooming himself! Like many former tomcats biologically forced to fight for territory and love, Alfred tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). But Alfred will live a normal life if given the love and care all cats deserve. What's most important about our Alfred is he’s a big, handsome, and soulful boy looking for a family to cuddle with. Alfred would be happiest as an only cat. Are you ready to meet Alfred? The first step is to submit our adoption application at https://www.fofct.org/adoption-application. Adopters must live within 45 miles of Stamford, CT.
