Story
Pebbles is one gorgeous long haired calico. Somehow this beautiful girl ended up living in a Colony but thankfully had the best person watching over her and the others.   Pebbles is shy but once she feels safe with you she loves to be petted.  Her purr can be heard by all.  She will headbutt your hand to continue those pets and when no one is looking will toss a toy mouse around like it was real. Pebbles rooms with another cat now and think she would do very well with another calm cat.  The perfect home will be someone who understands she is shy and willing to give her that time.  A quiet home we feel would suit her best. Please consider giving this gorgeous girl a home. You can find our online-fillable adoption application by visiting https://animalsforlife.org/feline-adoption-application.August 31, 2024, 7:12 am

Story
*PART OF A BONDED PAIR - PAIR MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER* My name is Helga. I am a beautiful feline with a gorgeous long-haired gray and white coat. I adore chin rubs, but belly rubs are my favorite! I roll on my back, turning from side to side with sheer enjoyment. Neck rubs are most welcome, and I am in heaven when showered with cuddles. My foster mom pats the loveseat, and I’m on my way for blissful attention. My brother, Harlin, and I enjoyed love and affection in the past but for reasons unknown, we found ourselves out on the street, left to fend on our own for our very existence. Life was hard, we were hungry, cold, and ill. Helga came down with Calicivirus and Harlin lost his right eye. Thankfully, we were eventually rescued, but were completely traumatized by our time on the street. We were wild with fear and responded by hissing, spitting, and striking out with a paw to any attempt of kindness. Our foster mom and dad did not try to touch us and patiently just let us be. It took a long time for us to once again enjoy human touch. Our foster parents take good care of us. We have fresh water, food, treats, lots of toys and a wonderful cat tree, but we are waiting and yearning for more pets and cuddles than our foster parents can provide. There is competition for attention, and we must share our foster parents with all the other cats in the home. Our veterinarian says that, with our Calicivirus history, it’s best to be in a home with no other felines since it’s possible for us to spread the virus, even if vaccines are up to date. We are the sweetest ever, a bonded pair, longing for love, affection and a home of our own. Helga needs to be adopted with her brother, Harlin. Helga was born around July 12, 2020, and is currently being fostered in Naugatuck. She is fixed, up-to-date on shots, is microchipped, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV.  All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and Greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved. Applications for adoption can be found on our website at www.fosterandforever.org.
