Story
Pebbles is one gorgeous long haired calico. Somehow this beautiful girl ended up living in a Colony but thankfully had the best person watching over her and the others.   Pebbles is shy but once she feels safe with you she loves to be petted.  Her purr can be heard by all.  She will headbutt your hand to continue those pets and when no one is looking will toss a toy mouse around like it was real. Pebbles rooms with another cat now and think she would do very well with another calm cat.  The perfect home will be someone who understands she is shy and willing to give her that time.  A quiet home we feel would suit her best. Please consider giving this gorgeous girl a home. You can find our online-fillable adoption application by visiting https://animalsforlife.org/feline-adoption-application.April 28, 2024, 8:04 am

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi everyone! My name is Lena and I'm an innocent victim of a very messy divorce. I lived with my family for about 10 years. One day, my mom and human siblings left me behind nd moved away without telling me. I was heartbroken because my dad never really wanted me. Soon after the rest of my family left, my dad threw me away and I lived on the streets of West Haven for about 2 years before I suddenly became blind. I was so frightened, I didn't know where I was or what to do. A kind neighbor heard my cries and took me into her home. She began looking for a rescue group to come to my aid. That's when a volunteer from Foster and Forever stepped in and took me! I now live in a foster home with other cats and dogs, and I've been to the vet (who took care of all my needs). However, it is still unknown what caused my sudden blindness. I am a sweet, affectionate older lady with a pretty calico pattern and polydactyl paws, and despite my traumatic past, and I am now looking for my forever home! Lena was born some time in 2012 and is currently being fostered in Watertown. She is fixed, is up-to-date on shots, is microchipped and tested neg for FIV/FeLV*. All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved.  Applications for adoption can be found at https://www.fosterandforever.org/  Our volunteers do their best to respond within 24 - 48 hrs. Story
Brownie is a 2yr old tortie long haired female. She was living in a cat colony in Waterbury where the male cats were harassing her. The feeder was able to trap her so we could spay her and we thought she had a good personality and with some work could become a housecat. She is sweet and a little shy. She likes her head to be pet but not so much her body. She is playful especially with catnip and feather toys. She does still need some work to help socialize her a bit more. She doesn't like other cats or dogs. Since she can be shy and has rules for petting, as torties do, she would do best in an adult only household. All of our cats are spayed/neutered and current on rabies and distemper vaccines. They are tested for feline leukemia, FIV, heartworm and intestinal parasites including giardia. They have been dewormed and treated with flea prevention.  Our adoption fee is $150. Apply now or reach out to us with any questions! ##1950510##
