Story
Cartman, 11, is finding a measure of happiness and peace again after having to come back to PAWS Atlanta because his owner was seriously ill. It has been a difficult situation for both of them, and returning to the shelter after a lifetime in a home is a very hard thing. Fortunately, a wonderful foster stepped up to take a very sad Cartman into her home. He keeps a low profile, stealthily biding his time under the bed or out of sight during the day and coming out to eat and explore overnight when the fosters are sleeping. His foster says Cartman seems to really like catnip, treats, feather wands, watching the birds out the window and having a safe place where he can relax. Having some peace and quiet to explore on his terms has been hugely helpful. His foster has been able to get Cartman to come close to her but he’s not yet ready for petting.

Story
Meet Specs The Fearless Love Bug Who Sees the World Differently Specs is a kitten who doesn’t just survive — she thrives in her own extraordinary way. Born partially deafblind in a homeless camp, Specs faced more challenges than most cats could imagine. The kind humans around her did everything they could to keep her safe, feeding her, caring for her, and protecting her from danger, and thanks to them, she survived a devastating fire that destroyed the camp. Now safe indoors, Specs is grateful for every single moment. She savors soft blankets, warm sunbeams, and gentle human attention like it’s the greatest gift in the world — and in many ways, it is. Personality: Brave, Confident, and Hilariously Adorable Specs has learned to navigate life in a way only she could. She climbs, jumps, runs, and plays with her siblings and other polite kittens just like any other playful kitten — if you didn’t know, you’d think she was just adorably clumsy. But the truth is, she’s deaf and partially blind, and nothing slows her down. She loves cat trees, tunnels, high perches, and toys that make noise. She even gets the zoomies, sprinting through tunnels and across the room with pure joy. She’s excellent at finding her litter box, food, and water — she’s completely independent in her daily routine. Specs doesn’t require special accommodations beyond patience, love, and introductions done in a way that earns her trust. Otherwise, treat her like any other kitten and cat-proof your home as you would for a toddler — she’s ready to explore. Affectionate and Gentle Specs is a love bug through and through. She loves to be hugged, petted, and held like a baby. She might get startled if lifted without warning, but once she knows she’s safe, she melts into your arms, purring and snuggling with absolute trust. She adores other polite cats and will join cuddle puddles or gracefully avoid conflict. Her fluffy tail waves proudly in the air whenever she’s confident, letting you know she’s happy and ready for love. Specs isn’t just a kitten — she’s a miracle of resilience, bravery, and joy. She navigates her world with confidence, plays with unmatched enthusiasm, and loves with a heart that is huge and unshakable. Her life started with hardship, but now she is safe, happy, and ready to love someone deeply in return. Check out more photos and videos of Specs here: Era Photo album Specs is a petite girl and estimated to be about 10 months old as of Jan 5 2025 and fully vetted: neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed, and microchipped. She tested negative for FIV, FelV, and heartworms. To meet Specs, start by filling out an application here: Adoption application form Questions? info@littlelivesatl.org

Story
Norman is the kind of cat who makes you slow down without even trying. Extra-fluffy and impossibly soft, with calm green eyes that always look like he’s quietly taking everything in. He’s a true gentle soul. Norman is loving, docile, and deeply affectionate — a lap cat through and through. If you sit down, chances are he’s already planning how to join you. He loves cuddles, leans into affection, and has that rare, comforting presence that makes a house feel like home. Norman is also… very serious about food. In another life, he’d absolutely be a professional food tester — enthusiastic, dedicated, and never late to a meal. He’s an extreme foodie in the most endearing way and will happily remind you when it’s time to eat (or when it should be time to eat). Oh and he will do pretty match anything for Churu treats! One of his favorite pastimes is perching on a windowsill or his window hammock, watching the world outside — birds, leaves, passing clouds — like it’s his own personal nature channel. He’s calm and observant, happy to just exist near you, soaking in the day. Norman would do best in a home that appreciates a mellow, affectionate companion who wants to be close, share space, and offer quiet companionship. He’s not demanding or chaotic — just steady, loving, and incredibly easy to adore. He is very submissive to other cats and coexists peacefully with cats that are respectful to him. But he wouldn’t mind be the only cat in the household, as he mostly cares for human affection. He loves been groomed and taken care of, he accepts medicine and having his nails clipped like a champ! Even the vets love him! If there is Churu involved, he doesn’t even mind getting poked for his bloodwork! If you’re looking for a cat who feels like a warm blanket, a peaceful presence, and a best friend rolled into one fluffy black package, Norman is your guy. Norman is estimated to be 5 years old as of January 2026, he is neutered and fully vetted, dewormed, deflead, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines. He tested negative for FIV, Felv and heartworms. Check out more photos and videos of Norman: Norman Photos If you are interested in meeting Norman or want to learn more about him please fill out an application here: Adoption application Questions? info@littlelivesatl.org
