Story
Hi, I’m Fifi! I may be a little shy and cautious at first, but I’m a total lovebug once I feel comfortable. My wonderful foster family has been helping me gain confidence, and I’m doing so much better! I still get a little skittish with fast movements or new places, but I promise, if you give me some time and space, I’ll warm up to you and show you just how sweet I can be.I absolutely adore attention, but I won’t always approach you right away. I prefer it when my human gets down to my level and lays with me, and that’s when I really relax and let the love flow. I’m the perfect snuggle buddy, and once I trust you, I’ll happily curl up beside you for some quiet bonding time. I am a huge biscuit maker and love to go to town on soft blankets (or my persons lap of course!). My past wasn’t the easiest – when I was surrendered with 10 other cats, I was very matted, and I had to be shaved. But now I’m feeling so much better, and though my coat is still growing back, I’m full of love and ready to find a patient, understanding family who will help me continue to build my confidence. My majestic fluff will be back soon! I tend to be a bit picky with the kitties I get along with, some I do - some I don`t! I tolerate some of my foster roommates but others I am not particularly a fan of. I would totally thrive in a home all by myself though, where I can be the queen of my castle! That sure would be the perfect life for me. I want to spend the rest of my days soaking up all the attention from my people and giving all the love I missed out on the past few years. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle kitty who just needs a little time to settle in, I might be the perfect match for you. I promise, with a little patience, I’ll shower you with purrs, affection, and snuggles (and maybe a few cat hairs - I`m a glorious long-haired kitty after all!)Come meet me soon – I can’t wait to find my forever home with someone who will give me the love and care I deserve!

We have been taking care of Phoenix since September of 2024, we found her as a very young kitten abandoned outside. We are unsure how old exactly she is, but she is definitely no older than 7 months. She is very sweet and playful. However, we are moving out of state and cannot bring her with us.

Story
Meet Chainsaw! His nicknames are Chains, big kitty, & big papa. He is around 10 & weighs about 14.5lbs. Loves to sleep most of the day & loves to cuddle occasionally. He had kidney stones in the past, so he’s on a urinary tract food. He’s declawed (not by our choice). We believe he used to be a barn cat, but unclear & got him from a friend. He sadly is not happy living with our other cats. We’ve tried everything & believe a new home is the best option for him at this point. No other pets recommended.

Story
Hello! Ollie is a wonderful, 13-year-old cat who is incredibly sweet. He loves to cuddle, is outgoing, and is great with new people. He LOVES head scratches at all times of the day, and will never skip an opportunity to curl up next to you while you watch a movie. We adopted Ollie from a family member four years ago, and he has been a staple of our family ever since. A couple of years ago, we welcomed a new cat into our home, Frankie. It took a couple of weeks of getting familiar with each other, but Ollie and Frankie found ways to peaceably share their space with one another. Sadly, Ollie hasn't gotten along with our new dog, Winnie. He experiences a lot of anxiety sharing his space with a new pet friend... and he is now looking for a home without dogs. Because Ollie is a senior cat, he has developed a cataract in one of his eyes. He also has an ulcer in that same eye we are hoping will be healed soon. With this being said, he will always require daily eye drops in both eyes.

Story
Shadow is a stunning 7 year old long hair cat who was unfortunately surrendered to the shelter and does not understand why. He is already neutered, up to date on vaccinations and house trained. He is also noted to be great with dogs, does not get along with other cats though. Come meet this handsome boy in kennel 651, his ID is 7932. He will be microchipped and combo tested upon adoption. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by appointment only until further notice, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays.
