Story
Meet Delilah and Fireflies!! Bonded sisters we are keeping together. They will be shy at first in a new home but very sweet girls who love to be with you. Good with other cats and older kids who will respect their boundaries would be ok. They have not been around a dog as far as we know. They both love attention (once they adjust) and will head butt for pets!! They love to play and while not lap kitty's quite yet, they are very affectionate. Story
This is Sunshine, our tiny 7 year old calico. She will be 8 in July. She weighed a little over 6 pounds at her last vet visit. Tiny and petite, but full of life describes this girl! She is playful and active. She enjoys being close to people. Will spend time with you on the couch or follows you to give you a helping paw! She never seems to meet a stranger. She loves a catio, so that would be a great thing if you have ever thought about that! She seems to get along ok with some female cats but not males. Seems very threatened by them and even though she is so small, she sometimes doesn't back down if the boys try to bully her. She then is very stressed and spends hours hiding. We feel that a home with a female or her as the queen of the house will be best. She is really healthy and up to date on her vaccines and spayed. She has been diagnosed with asthma but at this time, she does not need medication because it doesn't hinder her life. You can sometimes hear her breathing a little harder or hear her snore, but she doesn't struggle to breathe. She just recently had her checkup and her lungs were clear and everything else was good too! She is a fun, loving little girl. She does what we call the prairie dog where she stands on her hind legs for pets. It's really cute! She likes to go to the bathroom with you and will stand on the toilet lid while you get ready. Any place you are, she's happy to be. She deserves a great home that makes her feel special and wanted and safe! If you can do this for her for the rest of her life, please contact us for more information on Sunshine!

Story
Cooper is our lovely senior boy, looking for a nice, calm home. He is very sweet and lovey-dovey. Can be nervous around some men. When he's comfortable with you, he's not shy to "tell you" what he's thinking and what he wants. He is very food motivate, but he needs to be fed with caution. He will eat until he vomits and then since his tummy is now empty, he wants to eat again. We find that it is best to feed him measured meals, 3 times a day. He's currently eating some kibble with the canned food mixed in with it and that seems to keep him from vomiting much better than if he were just left to scarf it down. He's in really good health and is up to date on his vaccines, he's been neutered and recently visited the vet for his checkup. He did well. He does sometimes get stressed with noise and can vomit. Once he's chilled out, he's fine. Doesn't happen often, but I guess everyone can have a bad day. He's currently out of state, but will be transported at no cost to the adopter. He is a special little boy that needs a great home to make the rest of his life the best years yet! Someone to make him feel so wanted and so loved and to spoil him to bits! If that could be you, please contact us for more information about Cooper!

Story
Amadeus is rambunctious, playful, lovable and outgoing. Did I mention rambunctious? That is the perfect word to describe Amadeus who is very high energy. He does like to take breaks to get some love and nibble on your nose. Amadeus has a beautiful fur coat and you should see his bushy tail. He has been in foster with Cotton for a few months now and we would love nothing more than to see these playmates adopted together. For more information, please contact their foster mom Debbie who does live in Maine at 802-595-0107.

Story
Are you looking for a sweet, gentle, fuzzy panther to add to your family? Napoleon might be the cat for you! This 7-year-old kitty came to us in August from one of our partner rescues here in Maine. He was transferred to HART because he is diabetic, and we have a lot of experience with successfully caring for diabetic cats. His diabetes is currently well-managed with a low-carb, canned food only diet (in our shelter, we feed Fancy Feast Classic Pate), and twice-daily insulin injections. We will require that his adopter has a well-established relationship with a veterinarian, because we are committed to the health and happiness of Napoleon and his new guardians even after they leave our shelter. HART's Medical Team will provide his adopter training in the care of a diabetic cat (it’s easier than you think!), along with a blood-glucose testing kit, a vial of insulin with related supplies, and a generous starter amount of canned food. In order to make these preparations, he won't be able to go home on the same day that you meet him.Napoleon will be a fantastic addition to a family looking for a laid-back cat-panion. Meet him in Room 4.Go to our website, www.hartofme.org, to submit your online application today!***FKA = Formerly Known As
