Story
Bubba & Bistro are best buds. They came from a multi-cat home where someone passed away. During the rescue process they always followed us around showing concern for where their friends were going. Bubba & Bisto were rescued separately a couple weeks apart and during the time apart, they each were sad and lonely. When we were able to reunite them into the same foster home, their happiness to see each other confirmed their bond and strong pairing. They are 2 peas in a pod that love snuggling together. They are extra gentle and loving, friendly, and trusting. They love people and greet you with joy. They follow you around, come to you for petting, love to be pet and scratched. Bubba looks up at you with adoring eyes, while Bisto licks your hand to give you a kiss and thank you for your attention. They are loyal, sensitive and empathetic types that will make great companions for someone. Their personalities are mellow, laid-back, quiet but not shy, well-mannered. They will make great buddies for someone who likes to chill and hang out. Bubba is the handsome black & white shorthair, a bundle of love. The brown cat is Bistro, a magnificent longhair, possibly a Mainecoon/Norwegian Forest. They are both fixed and fully vetted. About 5 years old.

Story
*I AM CURRENTLY OUT OF THE SHELTER UNTIL 4/23/24*Hello, my name is Clara. I am a 3 year old domestic long hair looking for my forever home. I am a shy but sweet kitty who would love a lap to curl up on everyday. I enjoy being petted by my humans and may enjoy playing with toys once I come out of my shell.I don`t know how I am with other cats or dogs and will need slow, proper introductions with them in the home.I have beautiful long fur that will need to be brushed daily to make sure it stays luscious and tangle free.I am up to date on my vaccinations but will need a regular veterinarian to make sure I stay happy and healthy for my whole life.If I sound like the feline for you come up and meet me!If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-3pm. To help speed up the application process, it is recommended that you complete the online application form found at the link below. My adoption fee is $50

Story
Austin is one of three cats that belonged to my 18 year old grand daughter who lived with me. She has moved out of state and does not want to take him. I am 65 years old and not in good health. I will be needing neck surgery soon. I can’t take care of the cats from the pain. When I have surgery I will not be able to do anything for months. He is neutered and his shots are due now. Very loving and good with kids. We had a flea problem which has been taken care of. But, he chewed off the fur on his hindquarters.

Story
I am 65 years old and have taken in 5 of my young grandchildren. My 18 year old grand daughter moved out of my home and left her three cats behind. The long haired grey is neutered. All three are loving cats, I have tried to keep them. I have to have neck surgery and I can not do litter boxes and can’t t afford veterinary services and the food is expensive. I have tried to find openings in rescue shelters and humane society. I don’t have the money they require to accept them and no openings at other places.

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://us14b.sheltermanager.com/onlineform_view?formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will continue to perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
