Story
This cat is recommended as a Barn Cat because we have observed that s/he appears to be unfamiliar and uncomfortable with people. We believe that this cat is accustomed to living, likely with other cats, in a protected outdoor environment and may enjoy living in a barn or other outbuilding. Because, upon adoption, the environment will be a new one for this cat, there is a specific five-week acclimation process to help this cat remain safe in his new home. We recommend adopting another cat for companionship during and after this acclimation process. In time, this cat may even warm up to new people and may later enjoy time and attention.

Story
Noodle Soup is a very nice girl. She, and her best friend Tortellini, have been waiting at the shelter upwards of 7 months for a home. They just now went to a foster home together! They have had numerous upper respiratory infections that have kept them from going to PetSmart but are doing very well now. Noodle Soup is an extrovert and would do well in most homes. These two need to be adopted together. Her adopter would need to be committed to providing her with an indoor only life although catio and harness walks are ok.This animal is in a foster home. If you would like to meet this animal, please go to www.souldog.org to fill out an adoption application. Once the application is reviewed our adoptions coordinator will reach out to you.If you have other dogs in the home and are meeting a dog you must bring them for the meet and greet. If you rent, you must provide proof animals are allowed. When submitting your adoption application make sure to submit a good clear picture of your living room, kitchen, and yard.Filling out an adoption application does not mean you will be adopting the animal. Doing a meet and greet with one of our animals does not guarantee you are adopting the animal. We will select the family we feel is the best choice for that animal after screening and meeting applicants.

Story
Reagan is one of our semi-feral cats who lives in the catio. He is still young at 1.5 years old. He tolerates being around people but does not want to be touched. He may or may not come around to forming a relationship with humans over time. We still only adopt out our semi-feral and feral cats to INDOOR-ONLY homes. This can be a temperature-controlled cat-friendly building or it could be something like a fire station, a book store, etc. Reagan will still need to be fed daily and should not be expected to exclusively hunt prey-animals for a meal. With feral and semi-feral cats, we would like to adopt them out in groups of at least 2. If there are other cats on the premise, an exception can be made.

Story
Garth 3 is one of our feral boys living at the shelter. He makes continuous, persistent and loving eye contact so he may allow humans to be part of his life at some point in the future. We would still like to adopt our feral cats to accommodating INDOOR-ONLY HOMES. This could be an exclusively indoor, temperature-controlled building on a property or something like a fire station, book store, etc., Garth 3 will still need to be fed every day and should not be expected to feed exclusively off prey animals on the premise. If there are other feral cats on the property, we don't mind adopting him out as the only new cat on the block (so to speak). Otherwise, if there are no other feral cats on the property, we prefer to adopt out our semi-feral or feral cats in groups of at least 2.

Story
Oakley is a dogcentric cat. He likes people but be really, really loves dogs. He will need a dog best friend who allows him to be as needy as he is. He’ll rub up on his dog friends for 30 minutes at a time and won’t take no for an answer. He has excellent energy and will sprint around in the wee hours of the morning, squeaking to himself in glee. He is shy initially and will need a patient home who allows him to adjust on his own terms. He also does great with other cats.

Story
Yvoire and Eze are two gorgeous white fluffy cats. Yvoire is the female and has the small splash of gray on her head. She is the more outgoing of the two and will seek out affection. Eze is the shyer but spazzier of the two. They were relinquished as part of a hoarding situation and were initially undersocialized but are doing great with positive reinforcement and snuggles. They will likely do well in most quiet homes that are understanding of patience and not "forced love." They do need to stay together as they obviously love each other.

Story
Mama Emily, as her foster mom calls her, is the perfect cat for someone who regularly fosters. She's the ultimate mother hen, keeping kittens in line while also playing and interacting with them. She would also do great in any home with other cats and dogs as she lives with them in her foster home now.Emily's origin story is sad. She is from rural Oklahoma and was found with her newborn litter of kittens. A woman took them inside her home but her husband "didn't like the mom," and separated Emily from her kittens- forcing her to live outside while her newborn kittens were inside and not allowing her to interact with them. When they were finally reunited upon coming to Colorado, Emily was understandably protective and very attached. She is a bit of an odd duck, in many ways. She still seems to be learning to trust humans. She is fine when forced into cuddling but she doesn't seek it out yet. Her love can be bribed with treats (she especially likes bits of chicken nuggets). She's nocturnal and is her playful, silliest self in the wee hours of the morning. She has an impressive vocal range considering her small stature. We know that she's not your typical loving cat and finding a home for her will be relatively difficult but we also think that after all the trauma she's endured, she certainly deserves a permanent and loving home.
