Who are our Working Cats? Some cats are not social enough to live as indoor pets, and prefer an independent lifestyle. These cats have experience living outdoors and are proficient mousers. Since these kitties are happier and more successful outdoors, we put them to work in homes, farms, and businesses where they can do what they do best. All our blue collar kitties are spayed/neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, ear tipped, and fully vaccinated. Why hire a Working Cat? By hiring a blue collar kitty, you can avoid using toxic pesticides, save money on a pest control service, and provide a home to a cat in need. Adoption fees are waived for our Working Cats. Cats are also more effective than other methods of pest control because they act as a deterrent! If you are interested in adopting a Working Cat, please visit the shelter in person to start the process.

Story
Meet Dumpling, a young feline resident of our shelter. Her timidity speaks volumes about her personality. She`s a bit under socialized and may take a while to come out of her shell. But don`t let her shyness fool you, Dumpling is full of potential and just needs a loving home where she can decompress and adjust at her own pace. Her journey hasn`t been the easiest, but she remains hopeful for a future filled with warmth and affection. Adopt Dumpling and give her the chance to flourish. Her gratitude will be evident in her purrs and gentle nudges.

Story
Zariyah is probably the most playful kitty I have ever had the joy of loving. I found her as a young kitten almost 2 years ago and she has been with me ever since. Zariyah is a loving and cuddly kitten at many times. I often wake up to her in between my legs. She is sitting on my lap as I type this 🩷 Zariyah was raised with my 60lb pit bull who loves to play with the other cats she has lived with, so Zariyah has always had a very spunky energy. When I fell in love with my partner and we moved in together, I fell in love with his small 8lb terrier as well, and unfortunately, Zariyah continues to almost harass(?) the small dog because she is used to playing with the large dog. Because of this, and it absolutely breaks my heart, we have to rehome Zariyah. She is potty trained, she has two really nice top entry litter boxes and a gamma vault for food that will come with her adoption fees. Please let me know if you have any question about this beautiful, sweet girl.

Story
Hi Everyone, My name is Abby. I am a spayed and vaccinated 15-year-old tuxedo cat. I was born in Germany and moved to Colorado when I was four. I have lived as an only pet most of my life. I am pretty scared of other animals since I have lived alone for so long. But between us, I rather prefer living alone anyway. I now live with four humans, Joe and Kerstin and two kids. I am not so great around small children, but usually I just try to find a spot to sleep and hide where they can’t find me. Joe, Kerstin, and the rest of the family are moving back to Germany soon. And at my age, I think I would rather stay here. I now have some cognitive decline in my old age and I probably would not handle that move very well. It was really hard on me when I was four so now that I’m such an old lady, I really don’t know what I would do. Joe is looking for a place for me to go that would give me the space and quiet that I like. And also people that would be patient with worsening anxiety.

Story
Hello there! I'm a tuxedo polydactyl furry friend named Baby! I'm about six years old and have been loved and spoiled in my life, but haven't been able to land a forever home. I'm recovering from cancer and spry as a kitten, so you'd never know I had any issue at all. I also have FELV, so I need to be the only cat in the home, but as long as you love petting me, it won't be an issue. I don't like being held, but I love sitting next to my humans and getting scritches. I'm mild and quiet and while I'm not very playful, I still get the zoomies and adore my scratching post and birdwatching out the window. I have a few quirks, one of which is I don't like walking on blankets or pillows. I prefer wet food and pate and like having my water fresh every morning. Won't you please give me a chance to be your bestie?

Story
Meet Cider, or as we call him, 'Cider (House) Rules!' This buff guy is not only confident, but affectionate:  when you sit down, he will immediately approach & curl his tail around you, then flop to the floor as he asks for head & cheek pets.  If you're able to spend a few more moments with him, allowing him to know you better, he'll roll over onto his back, gaze into your eyes & ask for belly rubs!  But Cider is no slouch:  this ten years young guy has lots of energy & loves wand toys.  His former guardians were crushed to have to give him up due to financial challenges... he is a 'regulated diabetic,' meaning he does not require shots, but simply a special diet.  Please know there are lots of options for diabetic foods! He would prefer to be in a home where he is the only furbaby. Please come meet this sweet, loving boy

Story
Hi, I'm Freya! I had a rough start early in life and I almost didn't survive. But here I am full of energy and a happy (and sometimes sassy) 6 month old little girl. I like to run and play. I'm pretty fast. I'd like a home with cat towers to climb on and space to run around. I am hyperthyroid. I'm available to adopt with the requirement that you will initially take me home as a foster so MaxFund's medical team can closely monitor my health and recovery for a couple months. Additionally, while in foster I will need to be brought to MaxFund for regular check ups with the shelter vet. ALSO - I am bonded with Bill and would like to go home with him. We both beat the odds and formed a very special bond.
