Meet Princess, a beautiful, loving 2 year old fluff ball. This sweet little lady came from a loving home who had to make the impossible decision to give her to us when their living situation unexpectedly changed. This little Princess comes with a diagnosis of FeLV (feline leukemia), which is a widely misunderstood disease. Although Princess is healthy, this virus can shorten her lifespan. However, many cats can still live long and healthy lives. She will need to be in a single cat household or with other cats who also have this virus. She also has the added challenge of some birth deformities in her hind legs. Princess gets along very well with a unique walk and can climb stairs and jump to low surfaces like chairs and sofas. She will be seeing our vet again soon for a more complete picture of her health. Princess is affectionate, loving and oh so sweet. Yet, she is content to be on her own, very laid back and undemanding. She would be the perfect cat for pet parents who work outside of the home or senior pet parents looking for a loving and calm companion. Although Princess may need a little extra care, she will be an amazing addition to your family.

Name: Mustachio Male DMH Brown Tabby Estimated DOB: 10/08/2015 About: Mustachio is the sweetest old gent with the cutest croaky meow. He LOVES pets and wet food....wet food most of all! He will SHOVE you out of the way to get his wet food and, if your not getting it fast enough, will meow repeatedly until you do! Backstory: This guy came from the Newaygo area and had been living outside for a few years after getting kicked out of his home when his family moved. The neighbors all fed and took care of him but a few months ago, he came back with a large, gaping wound on his neck. The neighbors loved him so that they asked us to take him in and help him heal. His neck wound is almost healed up. We did bloodwork and that was pretty good for an older guy! The vet said his teeth look good but we're going to have another look to make sure as many older cats need dental care. Location: Happy Cat Cafe Medical: All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccines (rabies and distemper), microchipped, given flea/tick prevention and de-wormer, FIV/FeLV tested, and any other veterinary care that is needed prior to adoption. Hi-C Male orange tabby DSH Approximately 7 years old Hi-C came into rescue when his owner went into hospice care. Hi-C was a neighborhood cat that started visiting his owner around 5 years ago for food, love, and a warm place to sleep in the winters. Hi-C spent most of his time outside but made sure to come back home for meal time every day. Since going into foster, Hi-C has started getting used to the indoor only life. We still catch him sitting in front of the windows enjoying watching the outdoors, but he has become very fond of his warm cozy spot on the couch. He is a sweet cat who goes crazy for his cat treats. He spends most of his day lounging around and gladly accepting pets. Location: If you'd like to meet him, he's currently in residence at the Happy Cat Cafe. He can still go to his forever home while he is waiting for this appointment. Name: Chase Male DSH Grey with White Tuxedo Estimated DOB: 9/15/2020 About: Chase is a very friendly guy that loves attention. He gets along with dogs and cats with slow introductions. We are not sure how long he has been on his own outside so he will need a patient family who understands it will take time for him to be besties with any fur siblings and for HIM to understand he doesn't need to go outside. He does still cry at the windows so right now an apartment may not be the best fit due to possible noise complaints. Also, due to his false belief that he needs to go outside, we would currently consider him an escape artist. Please take extra precautions to avoid him escaping outside. With time and patience, he will learn all the love, fun and safety are right at home.
