When you look at Comet you see a beautiful fluffy cat with a blended dilute coat.Comet hasn`t been with us all that long and is still a bit timid here. She has wonderful potential though and will be a blessing to anyone looking for a calmer, laid back angel. We think her timid nature would diminish in a home with a quieter setting and her regal nature will shine brightly for all to see.

Barn Cat ProgramWorking cats, such as barn cats, are not typically suited to being indoor pets. These independent felines prefer to roam and hunt in outdoor environments working for you, hunting mice and other pests. To be eligible to adopt a working cat you must be able to provide a period of confinement for at least two weeks, and potentially longer, to help them acclimate to their new surroundings. During this time, they can adjust to the idea that your property is their new home base where they can work to keep pests at bay. You must provide them with safe shelter that protects them from harsh weather conditions and potential predators. They should be fed once daily and have constant access to fresh water to keep them healthy and happy. These diligent workers will earn their keep by naturally controlling pests on your property, making them valuable allies in maintaining a pest-free environment.

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact clsouthern513@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet. This little lady has it all. Personality, playfulness, snuggles, purrs, long naps, and is a beautiful chocolate tortoiseshell. She's looking for a home where she is the only feline. She's good with a cat-friendly dog.The vet thinks Lovey has a condition called hyperesthesia (extreme sensitivity on her lower back) , but it is currently being managed well with Gabapentin which she takes like a dream in her food. Our family has had Lovey for 5 months. She is highly treat- and food-motivated. This has helped to begin harness and leash training  at which she is progressing wonderfully. She has nicknames like " dumpling" and  " munchkin,"  We'd love to keep her, however, we know she will blossom in her forever home where she will be the Queen Kitty Bee.Contact clsouthern513@gmail.com today to learn more about beautiful Lovey! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Story
Betsy, about a year old, is a medium-haired gray and white kitty with a dark pink nose. She is an outgoing feline, full of love, who was head bumping and rubbing her whiskers on her foster mom in just a few days. Having finished rearing a family of kittens, Betsy is now ready to be with her own human family.  She saw, but did not have contact with, her foster’s cats, and seemed interested and curious. Betsy did not like hearing the foster’s dog bark, but with proper, slow  introductions, would probably accept a dog that wouldn’t be abrupt or aggressive with her. Meet Betsy at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd during our weekly adoption event from 12-4pm.  All cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, FELV/FIV tested, microchipped, dewormed and started on flea preventative.   All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption.
