Story
Baby Eddie is a handsome gentle kittenTo start our adoption process, House of Mews Rescue asks that you please complete our online no-obligation adoption application, which is located on our website under the adopt tab at http://www.houseofmewsrescue.org/adopt.html  Should our adoption coordinator feel your application is a good fit, a HOM volunteer will reach out to discuss it with you.  Current on vaccinations, and have tested negative for both FIV ('Feline Immunodeficiency Virus') and FeLV (Feline Leukemia). Eddie and his brothers, Randy and Freddie, came from a neglected environment.  They were surrendered because their previous owner could not afford to feed them. When he first arrived in his foster home at three months old, the kittens were skin and bones, malnourished, drenched with fleas, and infested with intestinal parasites.  The boys are now healthy and happy, ready to journey to their forever home.  Due to the chaotic environment these boys withstand during the first three months of their lives, they are skittish in new environments and shy with strangers.  Once settled, they open up to be gentle, purring fur babies.  They need adopters who have experience with shy kittens and will be patient with them while adjusting to the new homes.  They are frightened by sudden movement and abrupt grabbling.  Eddie is a gentle boy who enjoys being held and pampered like a little prince.  He has expressive eyes, silky medium fur, a white torso, and a grey/white bushy tail.  A quick Google search revealed that Eddie might be a Turkish Van kitten.  This handsome boy loves to sit in a human lap and have his fur brushed.  He is very affectionate with people.  Eddie won’t do well as the only cat.  He will need a friendly feline companion and, hopefully, one of his brothers in his new home. Approx. birth date: 4/15/24 Foster:  CCLOctober 10, 2024, 1:35 pm

Story
Cinnabar and Packard are two of the lucky ones. They were born outside to a mother that we were able to trap and fix. Little did we know that she had babies. When she went to get spayed, they did not say she was lactating. She had been gone for three days when the elderly homeowners heard kittens meowing over the ravine. The gentleman climbed down to retrieve them. He was lucky that he did not injure himself. We brought them in right away and started bottlefeeding them. They had not eaten in three days. They were in pretty good shape, all things considering. We continue to care for them in one of our foster homes as they are two of the most affectionate fun, loving Kittens you will ever meet. They will be at at our Summer Of Love adoption event at the Willowick Pet Supplies Plus on July 27 from 1 PM to 3 PM. 30450 Lakeshore Blvd Willowick, OH We will have over 25 cats and kittens in one place. You don’t want to miss this event! You may just find your new best friend. Fill out this form to be preapproved before the event so that if you find your match, you can take them home the same day! We’re looking forward to meeting you. https://form.jotform.com/202214857624050

Story
Jewel has a backstory like so many others. She was left outside to survive on her own. Moving around her neighborhood, crossing streets and just otherwise trying to stay alive. She had not been fixed. We don’t think she ever had vaccines but we aren’t sure… What we do know is that we got her in the nick of time. You see, she came to us from a local family that helped strays. She went in for routine spay, and other wellness vetting. We found out that she had what you call pyometra. That’s where her uterus was filled with infection. The infection grows until the uterus busts and the cat passes away. Luckily we were able to resolve this issue before that happened. She also tested positive for FIV. She is otherwise healthy. Cats with FIV can be around negative cats. It’s only transferred through bite wounds. She likely got it during mating. Feel free to ask us for more info. She absolutely adores human beings. She would rather not be around other cats, but she could live with one other. She likes her space. If you’re looking for a single cat or have a very respectful cat at home, she would love to meet you!
