Story
Velma and Daphne are medium-haired orange tabby sisters who came to us at the end of October from a local grassroots rescue. Along with their siblings (Fred, Shaggy and Scooby), they made their journey to safety and eventually to cozy foster home where these two formed an unbreakable bond. They’re truly a special find. Because of cat genetics, only about 20% of orange tabby cats are female. Add in medium-length fur and you’ve got an especially rare combination! Why These Sisters Are So Wonderful * Bonded pair: Velma and Daphne are best friends. They play together and find comfort in each other. They do not want to be separated and must be adopted together. * Beautiful, soft medium fur. Their silky tabby coats are gorgeous, but they will need regular brushing to stay tangle-free and keep that shine. Velma and Daphne are looking for a forever home where the adopter is ready to give them time, love and a little extra grooming care. Because they’re sisters, they bring double the love, double the purrs and double the joy. If you have room in your heart and lap for two gentle, bonded medium-haired orange tabbies, Velma and Daphne would love nothing more than to curl up in your forever home. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Not good with cats,
Story
Nipsy is a medium-haired beauty with a story that’ll tug at your heart and a pair of white “slipper” feet and long white whiskers that are sure to win you over. This sweet boy was brought to us at the start of July by a local grassroots rescue who wanted to make sure he had a safe place to land after being heartbreakingly abandoned. A concerned neighbor overheard his previous owner saying the cats were no longer welcome—and then saw Nipsy and another cat left outside with only their litterbox. While Nipsy was fortunately rescued a few weeks later, the fate of the other cat remains unknown. Though he’s been through more than he ever should have, Nipsy has shown incredible resilience, grace and trust. He’s a cat who knows what it’s like to be unwanted and now he’s ready to know what it’s like to be deeply loved. Nipsy is a sweetheart with a gentle spirit. His black and white coat is silky and soft and his expressive eyes reveal just how much he’s been waiting for someone to call his own. His adopter will need to brush him regularly to keep his gorgeous medium-length fur in top shape. Grooming will be a great way to bond with him. Nipsy is seeking a home where he can be the only cat. He’s adorned with the fluffiest white feet that look like cozy slippers and whiskers so long and white, they practically deserve their own zip code. Nipsy’s story may have started with heartbreak, but it doesn’t have to end there. He’s safe now and ready to give his trust and love to someone who will never give up on him. If you’ve been looking for a calm, classy companion with a heart full of gratitude and a whole lot of love to give, Nipsy might just be your guy.
