Story
This is Rosie we think she is about 4 or 5 years old. She was my boyfriends best friends cat that sadly passed away from cancer last year. His wish was for him to take the cat. Her living conditione werent the greatest. You can tell she wasnt use to humans and interaction much. She was scared and skittish. When we got her home in our care it took some time but we worked with her and it didnt take long for her to come out her shell and show her true self. All she needed was some interaction time and TLC. She is now a great cat affectionate and playful. The reason why we want to find a better home for her is because we already have two other cats and they bully her and dont let her out of her room much so she cant even come downstairs. She is confined to the upstairs room which isnt right or fair to her she deserves better. She is still kind of skittish and on alert because of the other cats and wondering where they are. She will make someone very happy. Any questions (724)766-2994.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
John Coltrane is a jazzy little dude. He has beautiful green eyes and silky midnight fur. He is a little timid at first and prefers a quiet and relaxing environment. Once you give him some treats and prove everything is safe, he will lean into pets and close his eyes in contentment; this man LOVES a cheek rub. He can get fearful and came from a hoarding environment, so he'd do best in a home with someone who has experience with cats and can read his body language. If you like kitties with an independent streak who still harbor an appreciation for affection, John Coltrane is your guy!

Story
Cookie is an 8-year-old cat accepting applications for her furever home. She came to PAWs after her original owner suggested euthanasia due to her weight, grooming issues and reportedly cranky personality.  After a complete check up the vet determined her problems were completely treatable. She arrived at her foster home weighing nearly 20lbs. Initially, she was hissy and swatty but who can blame her?  She was given space to decompress and in the past 6 weeks she has integrated beautifully into the house and lost 2 pounds! Cookie has a unique and beautiful dilute coat and a cute meow, and currently lives with a mellow dog and two cats. She enjoys intimidating the dog (with her mere presence) who requests an escort to pass by her and she mostly ignores the cats. She is not particularly playful and is not a lap cat (yet), but she likes to be near people. She enjoys petting and brushing on her terms, and will let you know if you are doing it wrong. She would do best with an experienced cat owner and could be an only cat or join others with a proper introduction and a safe place to enjoy her meals. Cookie is not suited for a home with small children as she can be a bit grumpy.  She requires a committed owner to help with her weight management and grooming needs. She is currently on prescription weight management food, and she will require sanitary trims as she cannot always clean herself properly due to her size. She has no issues using the litter box. Cookie seeks someone who will understand, respect, adore and love her while giving her the space she needs. She knows she is fabulous!  Are you the person who knows it too and will give her a second chance?  ##2643141##

Story
Meet Kairi. She was rescued by a good Samaritan in Ambridge with her siblings but had to be separated from them due to her Felv+ status, which has been shown to be regressive in a recent qPCR. This means that her lifespan will not be shortened by the virus, and she will likely live a normal, healthy life as long as she remains stress-free. Since being in foster, Kairi has had to learn all about indoor life with humans for the first time. Despite being timid at first, she loves to be pet and will instantly purr and come out of hiding for a good pet session. She gains most of her confidence when there is a trusted human around who can give her endless love and playtime, and then she will start following and cuddling with you any chance she gets. She is still cautiously exploring her foster home but will roll around endlessly when she is comfortable. She has the sweetest face and meow that would melt anyone, and she would also do well with a gentle feline friend. Kairi would make the best loyal companion for someone who can give her the space and attention to continue to thrive indoors. She needs to be adopted into a home with another cat. Kairi’s qPCR came back as regressive, this means she is not currently contagious and is very unlikely to ever show symptoms of the virus—some cats even clear it completely over time. While there is a small chance it could reactivate under significant stress, regressive FeLV cats can live full, normal lifespans. For this reason, we recommend FeLV-only homes or homes with healthy, vaccinated cats. Kairi is around 8 months old, spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV negative and FeLV positive (regressive).
