They were diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) and received 84 days of antiviral injections and passed an additional 84 day observation period. FIP is a mutation of feline coronavirus that can happen in some cats who have lower immune systems or who have a genetic predisposition. There is no continued care after treatment. Most cats have been exposed to felines coronavirus and only a small percentage will experience a mutation. You can read more about FIP here: https://www.sockfip.org This cat has tested positive for FeLV and needs to be adopted as a solo cat or into a home with another FeLV positive cat. FeLV is not transmitted across species. Cats who are positive for FeLV have a reduced immune system and are more susceptible to illness and disease. They will require more frequent veterinary visits and may or may not have a reduced life span.

Story
Meet Ceecee and Chip...a mother and son pair who are looking for the perfect home. Their ideal family will appreciate their sassy ways. They both have a tendency to swat playfully, and Chip has a fondness for love bites and yelling like a victim when being forced to cuddle, despite his many minutes in air jail to curb this behavior. They roam freely, however much of their time is spent napping in a box in our closet. Unfortunately Ceecee sometimes likes to instigate a fight with unsuspecting and undeserving cats, so perhaps a home where she and her son could be together without other cats might be best. They are around dogs all the time, albeit against their will
