Story
Houdini has recently arrived to the island due to wildfire evacuations on the mainland. Houdini is still learning how to trust people and is very cautious and initially reserved when meeting new humans (tends to give an initial hiss and airplane ears). His name stems from his elusive presence and tendency to retreat and hide in his cozy, quiet hidey-holes where he feels safe.Houdini does well with slow, quiet and patient people who bring him lick-able treats and slowly work their way up to interaction with him. Houdini is looking for a quiet, mature home with a cat savvy adopter who can give Houdini the time and patience he needs to thrive. Houdini must go to a home with another social cat as he prefers the company of felines to people. Apply to adopt him today! Primary Color: Brown Tabby Weight: 3.79 Age: 1yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Ally is a mature queen kitty who knows her likes and dislikes very well. She is exceptionally talkative... especially during car rides (which are not necessarily her favourtie). She loves one-on-one time with people and is very cooperative and sweet with humans but she likes the attention to HERSELF. Ally reeeeeeally does not love other cats and can turn from jeckyl to hyde when other kitties are around. ;) Ally is very personable and loves to shine in the spotlight. She is very food motivated and a little stubborn when it comes to her weight loss food but it only adds to her quirky personality. We can't wait to get her feeling like her best self! Ally is very affectionate, chatty, and silly and will make an amazing companion for someone. She is a purring, nuzzling, booping machine.Ally is awaiting a dental surgery and is on metabolic weight loss food. She is looking for a foster-to-adopt home in the Nanaimo region. Apply to adopt her today!

Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Pancake is a big boy with an even bigger personality! Although timid in new environments, given time and a bit of catnip or Temptations treats... you'll soon find yourself with a new best friend. Pancake is extraverted, chatty, and very social with people. Pancake has unfortunately found himself in our shelter a couple of times due to changes in his previous family's' life, and moving around homes. He has bounced around a lot in life and is looking for a peaceful spot to retire once and for all. Pancake has had urinary crystals in the past and will need to be fed a veterinary prescribed urinary diet to keep him in tip top shape. He'd thrive in a quiet, adult only home or one with older cat savvy kids. Pancake needs to be the only animal in the household (so that he can soak up all the attention)! ;) Pancake is early stage hyperthyroid and will require lifelong management to keep his levels under control. For this reason, Pancake does need someone who can commit financially to his ongoing care. His medication costs $47 per month and he will need bloodwork done yearly. Are you a unicorn person?! Consider adopting Pancake today

Not good with kids, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Piper was surrendered to the shelter as she began inappropriately urinating when a newborn baby came into the home. She is a quiet kitty who would thrive in a mature home as the only pet. Piper was incredibly cooperative and easy to handle when she was first brought into the shelter, despite being quite scared and shy. She is not too big of a fan of the other kitties in the rooms here and can occasionally grumble to convey her grievances but otherwise is a very peaceful cat who is especially excited for breakfast and dinner time. Piper has had no issues with inappropriate urination since she came into our care and her urinalysis and health check came back normal. If you need a loaf of a kitty in your home and can give this lady some TLC - consider apply to adopt Piper today!
