Story
***Acorn and her kitten, Hazelnut, are bonded, and must be adopted together.***My name is Acorn and I am a torby & brown tabby domestic shorthair. I am an intact female (I will be spayed before I am adopted) and I am 1 year and 5 months old. I returned from foster care on 02/19/2024 where I lovingly cared for my kittens in a wonderful foster home who loved and supported me through my post-partum period. I am a good kitty who uses the litterbox! I am a medium energy cat and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I do not have a history of trying to escape the home, but the shelter staff always recommends owners be mindful that I do not accidentally sneak out on their way out the door. I can be good with men, women, and children. I can be good with other cats and I can be good with dogs. All cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and cats over 6 months of age are tested for heartworms. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Cats are vaccinated against distemper and rabies, receive a flea preventative, are spayed/neutered before adoption, and have a microchip. Adoption fees include the initial automated registration of the microchip at the time of adoption.

Story
My name is Ross and I am a black domestic shorthair. I am a neutered male and I am 5 months old. I was found as a stray and a family has been caring for me, and the Ames Animal Shelter tooke me in to help find my forever home. I am a good kitty who uses the litterbox! I am a high energy cat (just like all kittens!) and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I do not have a history of trying to escape the home, but the shelter staff always recommends owners be mindful that I do not accidentally sneak out on their way out the door.
