Story
Juju is an absolutely adorable kitten! She has such a unique and expressive face with her itty-bitty nose and doll-like eyes. We think she looks similar to the wild "Sand Cat" of Africa (look them up, they're so neat!) Juju is extremely social and personable. She wants to be snuggled up with her foster parents 24/7. She's very trusting and docile. She loves to give kisses and will use her cuteness to try to beg for extra treats. She gets along very well with the other cats and dogs in the house, and she loves every person that she meets. If you're thinking about adopting a pair of kittens, her foster sister Barbie would make an excellent choice! One thing to note is that Juju doesn't really realize how small she is and gets into trouble because of it. She finds all of the best hiding spots to squeeze into, and we think it would be best if she doesn't go to a home with small children due to her petite size and fragile frame (kids 10+ years old should be fine as long as they are properly supervised). *** If you'd like to make this pet part of your family, please fill out an online application today: https://form.jotform.com/211746872887169 *** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Would you like to help us with the financial cost of the pets in our care? Story
Barbie was found in the Girard parking tower at ULL, in Lafayette, LA, back in August. We don't know exactly where she came from, but we believe that she rode in the engine of a car into the parking lot and jumped/fell out. When we got her, she was covered in oily soot and had sustained a fracture to her pelvis. After some intensive TLC, Barbie made a full recovery and is finally ready to find her forever home. Barbie is a sweet and loving little kitten. She is pretty shy in new situations and startles somewhat easily at loud noises (understandable after all that the poor baby went through), so she needs a calm household with compassionate and gentle owners. Barbie is somewhat on the independent side. She comes when you call her and excitedly greets her foster parents when they come home from work, but she is content to chill on the bed if you're busy. She's respectful of personal space and probably isn't going to be a lap-cat, but she does like to curl up next to her foster parents while they're watching TV. She gets along well with other cats and is okay with dogs as long as they aren't too hyper around her and respect her boundaries. If interested in adopting a pair of kittens, Barbie's foster sister, Juju, would be a great choice. They aren't related, but they get along very well. Of course, they can be adopted separately as well. Barbie would do best in a quiet home with a family that wants a sweet companion. NOTE: We are lucky to have not one - but two - Barbies for adoption! Please make sure you mention this is Sam's Barbie! Story
Kenlee & his brother Moseley were part of a TNR kitten group that got a second chance at being inside kitties. After spending time in a foster home, they've both warmed up to people. They are still a little skittish, but are incredibly passive and will gladly snuggle and purr if you pick them up. They spend most of their time snuggling or playing together, but they love playing with their foster cat brothers as well! They would love a home where they can stay together, but are OK being adopted separately. Story
Natalie is an absolute sweetheart. She adores all of our volunteers and is constantly vying for their attention. Natalie and about 20 other cats were living within a community cat colony in an RV park in Lafayette. Things were pretty calm for them, but everything changed when the local coyote population began to creep into their territory. These coyotes were something else too - multiple were spotted venturing throughout the area in broad daylight! Because of this risk to their safety, our organization took them all into our care. It takes a slow introduction for her to get used to new cats, and she does not like dogs. Natalie is all about her people! She would make a lovely addition to your home! Story
Meredith used to be a member of a feral cat colony in Broussard. They have a caretaker that sees to their needs, and they all usually do fairly well there. However, we decided to take in Meredith because she was quite sick and needed to be on medication for multiple weeks. During that time, she's been in a foster home and has adjusted to the house-cat life quite well. She's now completely healthy and ready to find a forever home! Meredith is very much a diva and likes things her way. She's more like a roommate than a pet, to be honest. She can be very vocal when she wants something, usually either food or to go in/out of a specific room. She's not really a cuddley cat, but she does enjoy people's company. You'll often find her napping on the couch next to her foster parents while they're watching TV. The best way to win over Meredith's heart is through food - any kind of treats will do. You can also always count on her to join you in the kitchen when you're cooking food or sitting down for a meal. Meredith absolutely adores other cats and loves to play with the other foster kittens. Because of this, we'd love to see her go to a home that already has one or more friendly cats, but she'd probably be fine as an only child too. She's currently living with three large dogs and gets along with them quite well as long as they respect her personal space. Please consider letting Meredith join your family!
