🐾 WELCOME HOME! 🐾 Bringing Your New Kitty Home: What to Expect Thank you for adopting and giving this kitty a second chance! Here’s what you need to know for a smooth transition: 🛏 Start Small Set your cat up in one quiet room with a litter box, food, water, and a hiding spot (like a covered bed or cardboard box). Let them explore slowly and on their terms. ⏳ Give Time Even the friendliest cats may be shy at first. Expect 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to settle in, and up to 3 months to fully adjust. Be patient—they're learning to trust! It’s normal for cats to hide for the first 24–72 hours. Adult cats, especially, may take even longer to feel safe. As long as they’re eating, drinking, and using the litter box, hiding is okay! 🍽 Feed & Hydrate Keep food and water dishes in a quiet, accessible spot. Follow any diet info provided. Monitor eating, drinking, and litter box habits the first few days. 🚽 Litter Box Basics Show them where the box is right away. Keep it clean and use unscented, clumping litter unless otherwise noted. 🐱 Interactions Let your cat come to you. Avoid loud noises or too much handling early on. Use gentle voices and slow blinks to build trust. 🐕 Introducing to Other Pets? Slow and steady wins the race! Keep your new kitty separated at first and take your time with introductions. 🧸 Playtime & Enrichment Interactive toys, scratching posts, and window views help relieve stress and build confidence. Story
🌧️✨ Meet McIvy & McRain — two soft little sisters looking for a quiet place to bloom. ✨🌧️ McIvy (black) and McRain (grey) are 5-month-old sisters with hearts full of sweetness… and just a sprinkle of shy. They’re gentle, tender souls who want to trust, but the world still feels a little big and loud to them. These girls aren’t bold, in-your-face kittens — and that’s okay. In the right home, with patient people who understand that being a bit socially awkward is totally valid, these two will blossom at their own pace. 🌱💕 What they do love: 🖤 Soft whispers and slow blinks 🤍 Feather toys that flutter magically in front of them 🖤 Snack time (their love language) 🤍 Curling up on cozy blankets with their super-soft fur McIvy and McRain would thrive in a calm, quiet home where trust can grow naturally and gently. They can be adopted together for double the gentle sweetness, or individually if your home is ready to help just one blossom. With patience, kindness, and a little time, they’ll show you their sweetest selves — the soft purrs, the gentle nudges, the quiet devotion that feels extra special because you earned it. If you have room in your heart for one (or two!) tender spirits who just need someone to believe in them, these sisters are waiting for you. 💛 Email adoptions@savedbyzade.com

Pepper is a very talkative loving cat that enjoys attention and playing with any string or rope toys. She has double the personality of any cat I've ever been around. She is a bit skidish and shy at times so she may need a gentle and somewhat quiet home to get comfortable.

Story
I acquired Edith from the Capitol Area Humane Society in February of this year, but due to child allergy and transportation issues it has become impossible to keep her. We really would like her to go to a loving and patient home. Edith is a delicate, sweet little lady who is definitely shy and would absoultely benefit from being an only pet in a quiet environment, preferably a home without children or other pets. She likes to bask in the sun at the window and specifically likes to be pet on her head. She isn't the biggest fan of being picked up yet, but is certainly opening up. In my experience, it will take her a bit of time to warm up and be the cuddler she wants to be. She has her own pace though. Edith prefers dry food, dry treats and has no trouble eating or drinking as much as you give her. She's a bit of a "Garfield" that way. HA! She also uses the litter box without issue. We would be happy to provide her toys, collar and treats upon successful adoption. Best wishes.

Story
Shamo was adopted as a kitten for my nephew who lived with me 7 years ago. My nephew has since moved out and left Shamo. I got two cats of my own and within a year, Shamo became aggressive with my timid female cat. He attacks her unprovoked. Until this point Shamo never had an issue. He is actually very affectionate and loves to be with people. He also loves my dog. Unfortunately Shamo can’t be with other cats. Medication worked to reduce his behavior for a year but its no longer effective. I want Shamo to have a chance to be happy with another family without other cats.
