Story
I’m elegant and shoeless like the Barefoot Contessa! (My name is usually a nickname for Teresa.) I’m Tessa, a 1-year-old white and black female cat, one of the 18 “T Cats” who came to the shelter in early December. You may remember that we were found in a parking lot! Brr! A few of our friends have been adopted, but many of us are still here. I have made good progress. I like being petted, and I am quite friendly. I love playing, and I’ll try like crazy to catch the laser light, chase and wrestle with the other cats, and leap at wand toys. Whenever someone comes into our room with Churu or any squeeze up treat, I join the group in gathering around for my share. De-lish! We have access to kibble all day long, and when people bring in the canned food – Fancy Feast or Friskies, that is a great treat too! I’m not all about play and food. I also love to relax by sitting in the big window watching the birds. Do you have a window seat especially for me? I’d love to be your darling Tessa. Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Hey, everyone, Teresa here. Since I arrived here in December with 17 other “T Cats,” I’ve been trying to “bloom” where I’ve been “planeted.” Ha! My name comes from a Latin word that means “earth.” It hasn’t been easy. The whole bunch of us were found in a couple of kennels in a parking lot, so many of us are still rather shy but allow some petting if approached slowly. A few of our friends have been adopted, but many are still waiting for our forever homes. We’ve made a lot of progress. We’re active, playful young cats. I’m a 2-year-old brown/orange tabby girl who loves playing chase games with the other cats. We all love wand toys and even that doggone laser light! One of our favorite things is Churu! If you want to be our hero, bring squeeze up treats! You’ll be mobbed! We have access to kibble round the clock, and when we get canned food – Fancy Feast or Friskies – that’s exciting too. I’ll be even more excited to be transplanted so I can blossom in a new environment, a forever home as your pretty, young Teresa kitty!Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Ooh, la-la! You’ll swoon over the classic tabby swirls in my gorgeous brown coat! I’m Larry, a 1 1/2-year-old adult male who came to Paws and Claws from another rescue group. In my early hours and days here, I was very wary, which made me growly and hissy. Once I’ve settled in, I may prove to be quite gentle and affectionate, but because my behavior has been unpredictable in the early going, I might do best in a home with older children or adults only. If approached slowly, I like having my head and ears petted, and I play a bit. Because of this, staff and volunteers are hopeful that I will warm up in time. With lots of love and a little bit of luck, I’m hoping to be someone’s good-looking Larry someday soon! Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
“Earth has its music for those who will listen,” said a man named Reginald Vincent Holmes. The Inca people cherished the earth. In their language, “pacha” was the word for “earth.” Listen to the music of the earth. Listen to her children. I am one of them, a beautiful girl named Pacha. I am a brown tabby, young adult female who arrived at the shelter on April 22, Earth Day. I was a stray who showed up at a home in SW Rochester, but the family couldn’t keep me because they already have four cats. I did well with the cats, and I like children. I am a shy girl, but I’m very sweet and like petting. I do alright with being held, except I get squirmy. I play a little and like toys, but I am not rambunctious. I’m generally a laid-back kitty cat girl who sleeps alone. I had been eating Cat Chow. I am ready to share my music with you, my purrs, and my love. Choose Pacha to be your girl.Adoption fee $150 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
At times, shy cats can be tough nuts to crack, but once we feel at home, we enjoy spreading the love around. I’m Skippy, a senior, neutered male who was found in Harmony living as an outdoor cat with my friend Patches. The people who had been feeding us were moving to an apartment and already had two indoor cats, so they brought Patches and me to Paws and Claws. When I arrived at the shelter in mid-March, I was quiet and reserved, but I do like being petted. After being out on my own, I’d like nothing better than a quiet place with loving folks to care for me. I can’t wait for that feeling: “Yippee, Skippy! I’m going home!” Patches and I get along well, and I feel safer when I am with her, so please consider taking her home too.Adoption fee $50 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Twenty-five years ago, Robert Redford made his debut as a movie director for the movie “Ordinary People.” A 20-year-old man named Timothy Hutton became the youngest person ever to receive the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. I’m a young 1½-year-old black male cat named Timothy. I may be a little bit shy right now to be a lead character, but maybe I could be your boy in a supporting role. I’m one of the 18 “T Cats” who came to the shelter in early December after we were found in crates in a parking lot. We were all nervous and scared. A few of our buddies have been adopted, but many of us are still waiting for our forever homes. I’m not too nervous anymore. I will sniff you, and I like being petted if you approach me slowly. I’ve come a long way since I got here. I love to play with my friends. We chase each other and play with toys. Wand toys and the laser light are my favorites. I have a favorite treat too. Churus! Whenever someone comes into our room with squeeze up treats, they are surrounded by enthusiastic cats! I like Friskies and Fancy Feast wet food too! We get that every afternoon. We also have dry food available all the time. When we’re not sleeping, eating, or playing, I like hanging out on a perch near a window where I can watch the birds at the bird feeders. I’m not looking for an award. I’m an ordinary cat looking for a home. That would be the best thing ever! Love, companionship, and a home where I will be someone’s extraordinary furry friend. Write “Timothy” on an application form today.Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax
