Story
Don’t you love the feel of a cat’s fur? Mine is white and tabby, a nice brown color. I’m called Tucker. Did you know that the name Tucker means “cloth softener” or “cloth weaver”? I’m especially glad for my coat because I am one of 18 cats who were left in the parking lot of a boat store in December 2024! We were left together in 2 carriers/containers. A rescue group brought us to Paws and Claws, where could be safe, warm, and receive the care and attention we need and deserve. I was adopted in April, but unfortunately I was returned to the shelter recently because my people were moving and could not take me along. I appreciate attention and petting, and I started playing a bit my first day here. When you meet me, please touch. Please pet. Please talk to me. I’d love to have people spend time with me. I hope that someday soon I can be someone’s very own Tucker boy. Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Remember “Finding Nemo”? I’m a tuxedo kitty, and I’ve never seen a movie, but I’ll bet you have. Dory’s a fish. Dory said, “When life gets you down do you wanna know what you’re gonna do? Just keep swimming.” Easy for a fishy fish to say! I’m a kitty cat. But I guess I understand. I was found as a stray and was brought to the Carriage House Vet Clinic in Kasson. Then I came to Paws and Claws so I can find a forever home. Since I got moved to a new room here, it’s been taking me a while to adjust. I feel most secure when I am in a hiding place. Normally, I am good with other cats and like to play. Don’t worry. I won’t “drown.” I will tread water. I will swim. Before you know it, I’ll be diving in! Splashing and having a ball! No one can keep Dory down! You’ll see! You will love Dory, and we’ll get along swimmingly.Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Mark your calendars. There’s a Tortoiseshell Appreciation Day; it’s April 17! But it should be every day! I’m Catherine, one of a large group of cats plus other animals who came to Paws and Claws from another rescue in early September. I had originally been found as a stray, and I live up to the tortoiseshell’s reputation. I am a highly spirited girl, full of spunk and sparks. Do you remember the moral of the fable about the tortoise and the hare? Slow and steady wins the race. If you are to win me over, I will require patience and understanding. If you can purr-severe, I will sense your compassion. Love wins. When love wins. I win. I deserve love. We all do. Catherine.Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Please pet me. Did I hiss? Sorry, I didn’t mean it. I do like being petted. I’m Snoopy, not a beagle but one of 30 cats who came from a home with too many animals. Charles Schultz’s Snoopy famously said, “Keep looking up. That’s the secret of life.” Life’s been hard so far but petting helps. Things are better now that I’m here, so I’ll try to look up. Thank you for caring. – Snoopy.Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Goddess? Me? Juno was the ancient goddess of women and protector of the Roman state. She was also the wife of Jupiter. I’m not a goddess now, though. I’m a sweet, mellow adult cat who came to Paws and Claws from a rescue partner. Although I wouldn’t mind being adored day and night, I mostly want love and affection – and food, of course. I love being petted. There’s a whole month – June – named after the goddess Juno – but that doesn’t mean that must be MY special month! I’d really love it if I could be special every single month of the year! MEOW! You know how to make me your Juno, don’t you? Go to the PCHS website and fill out an application. Make sure to write JUNO as the name of the kitty you want to adopt! Thank you! Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Tortoiseshell cats are known for being tough on the outside and “’squishy” on the inside. So, If I’m stand-offish at first, don’t worry. I’m a real sweetie. That’s my name – Sweetie! I’m around 2 years old, and I came to the shelter with my siblings Little Girl, Bebe, Cocoa, and Honey because our person is in a nursing home. We’ve been around other cats, but never this many! I can be quiet and shy in new situations, but I like people. I often slept with my person. I am playful and affectionate. We were eating both wet and dry Fancy Feast in our home. Because this is such a big change for me, I might like to be adopted with one of my siblings. I’m a lovely girl who’s longing for a home where I’ll be cared for and cherished. Can I be your Sweetie?Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
They call me Max Goldman – you know, that’s one of those fellows from “Grumpy Old Men.” I’m not grumpy, at least not any more. Maybe I was at first. I came here with a whole lotta other cats from a home with too many animals. I was scared and in pain. I had bad teeth. But I went to a foster home where it’s quiet, and I get great care and loving attention. I had some more teeth pulled, so I only have a few left. I feel a bit better. I can be chatty, especially when I want food or brushing. I rub up against my foster mom when I’m brushed, even in the more sensitive back areas – tail, hind legs, and butt. I haven’t engaged in playing with toys, although I’ve appeared interested at times. During the day, I mostly sleep in my cat bed on the couch, or lounge on the cat tower where I can lie in the sun or watch the birds. Despite being quite skinny, I move around very well. When my foster mom tried to put me in a crate at night due to incontinence issues, I could move surprisingly fast trying to escape her! I have no problem jumping onto the couch, dining room chairs, or the cat condo. I am stronger than I look!I have consistently been eating Weruva Press Your Dinner Chicken Breast Dinner Pate (warmed to room temperature), and my incontinence issues have been improving. Yum! I like this food. I’m a lovable, affectionate mature guy. I’m not a geezer, though. I’m 12, but I do have some special needs, so please talk to an adoption counselor about that if you’re interested in adopting me. I will be staying in my foster home, so anyone interested in adopting me should call the shelter to make arrangements to meet me. If you’re a special person with a heart of gold who’s looking for a special cat, I’d love to be your golden boy, Max.Adoption fee $50 + microchip fee $30 + tax
