Story
True to his name, Velocity approaches life with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a healthy dose of kitten chaos. Whether he's launching himself into an ambitious jump, scaling the nearest cat tree, or racing after a favorite toy, this playful little guy is always ready for his next adventure. When Velocity first arrived in foster care, the world felt a little overwhelming. He spent his first days tucked safely away, observing from a distance and taking everything in. But with a cozy hiding spot and some gentle encouragement, his confidence quickly blossomed. Now he explores his surroundings like he's lived there forever. While Velocity has an adventurous side, he's also a sweetheart at heart. He loves affection and has a charming habit of crying when he thinks he's been left all alone. The moment you answer him, he'll come trotting over, rubbing against your legs and happily soaking up attention. Once he feels safe, he's incredibly loving and enjoys plenty of pets—including his favorite: belly rubs. Like any growing kitten, Velocity spends his days bouncing between energetic play sessions and well-earned naps. String toys, scratchers, and wrestling matches with his siblings are some of his favorite activities. His foster family says he's especially entertaining to watch, thanks to his impressive jumps, fearless climbs, and goofy antics. Velocity can be a little cautious when faced with new environments, people, or animals, but he doesn't stay nervous for long. He was initially unsure about the resident cats in his foster home, and now he's trying his best to make them his friends. Given a little time and patience, he's proven that his curiosity almost always wins out over his worries. Velocity rides quietly in the car, is litter box trained, and has adjusted beautifully to foster life. He'll thrive in a home that offers gentle introductions, a safe place to retreat when he needs it, and plenty of opportunities for play and affection. Sweet, adventurous, and endlessly entertaining, Velocity is the kind of kitten who will make you laugh one minute and melt your heart the next. If you're looking for a playful companion with a goofy streak and a loving soul, Velocity may be the perfect match. ❤️🐾 ---- Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.

Story
Gus and Max are 3 month old brothers looking for their forever home!Gus is a buff and white tabby and Max is an orange and white tabby with a small orange spot on his cheek – it almost looks like a little heart! These two boys had a rocky start to life. Initially found in a barn, a kind community member took care of them for a few weeks until help arrived. During that time, Gus and Max were introduced to both adults and kids and found out they could love and trust human friends!Gus and Max are your typical playful and high energy kittens. Their day consists of chasing each other around the house, roughhousing, and of course playing with toys — all toys! Catnip toys, wand toys, ball in the track toys… these guys aren’t picky and will gladly entertain themselves. They play super hard and then crash and nap hard. Come nap time, they love soft beds (who doesn’t!) but they love being held and petted the most! Max will start purring right when you start petting him. If you’re in bed, they may take it as an invitation to join you. They also love big cats — especially for play and grooming sessions. If they want to chill, they’ll lay in the sunbeams and look at the birds and bunnies outside the window. Gus and Max have a neuter appointment on July 22nd, and then they will be ready to go to their forever home!Gus and Max currently live in a home with humans and cat friends. Their ideal home would be somewhere they can get lots of love, attention, and enrichment with toys. They would do well with another cat friend and would do well with children of any age!If you’re looking for playful and affectionate kittens, Gus and Max may be the duo for you!— — —There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimates.Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat? Story
Hi, I'm Kreacher — a spunky grey kitten with adorable long white socks and a couple of brothers named Dobby and Deek. If you're a HP fan, you probably noticed we are named after house elves! I am ready to bring adventure and affection into your home. I'm mischievous and loyal, which means I'll keep you entertained while stealing your heart - and maybe your socks - at every turn. I'm the perfect pint-sized companion for cuddles and playtime. Come meet me and my brothers and let's start our adventures together! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.
