Annabelle and her brothers, Chucky and Freddy, were living at a feral cat colony in the city. Our friends with St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach trapped them while doing TNR (trap/neuter/return) on some feral cats and realized that these babies were too young to go back. Fortunately, one of our awesome rescue friends agreed to take them in and socialize them for us until we had space. All three kitties are very long and lean and have smooth, sleek coats. Because they were caught when they were a bit older, they are shy and timid initially and need time to build trust with new people. Once they get to know you, they are little love bugs and will climb all over your lap and purr as soon as you pet them. They do startle at loud noises and sudden movement and will hide from people they do not know. However, they are docile as can be and do not have a mean bone in their bodies. Annabelle is the most petite of the group and she has the cutest face with big round eyes. She is the biscuit maker of the group and purrs contently while kneading her blankie when she's really happy. All three kitties LOVE canned food and will come running as soon as they hear the can open. They adore other cats and seek comfort from them, so they must not be only kitties in their new homes. Because they are more timid in nature, they would do best in a quieter home without kids and with patient owners who will give them the time that they need to settle in to their new surroundings and gain confidence. Daisy is a gentle, quiet, loving older kitty who deserves her very own humans to cherish. She has been a mother to kittens, adopted and later surrendered by a family due to allergies, adopted again and later surrendered because she became diabetic and she is now back in a foster home with Heartland. Even though she requires two shots a day, she is the lowest maintenance kitty of all the fosters in the home. Daisy loves looking out the window observing nature. She loves having her hair brushed and laying with her foster mom. She may do best in a quiet home as an only kitty and will give you headbutts to show you her love. Jack is a long, lean black cat. He reminds me of the Phantom of the Opera - a creature of the night! This 5 year old guy has a lot of love to give, but he is most loving at night. He loves to visit with me when I can’t sleep—accompanying me to the bathroom and loving me. He is friendly during the day, but he is happiest when he is the only pet around me and able to give me his affection. Jack kind of likes the other two male cats in his foster home, and tolerates the dogs, but I think he would be most happy in a home with only one or two other cats, or maybe as the only cat. I think he would be happy with an older, calm dog. He loves to be around his own quiet people. Now that he is at home, he loves my dog and loves to sit with us, anytime of the day! In 2022, right before Christmas, Jack was surrendered to the APA/Olivette shelter. Since he is chipped to All Paws Rescue and adopted as a kitten named Freddy, we were given the chance to bring him back to our rescue. He was surrendered because his family felt really sorry for him. He was so scared of their new, very active dog, he hid all the time. They wanted him to find a home where he could be happy. Jack has a lot of love to give the right person! Please give him a chance to learn that you love him, and he will love you back with lots of head bumps and purring.All pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and on a flea/tick preventative. Amal is a darling little lady with a sweet face and personlity to match. She came to us from a TNR group in St. Louis City; they trapped her while fixing cats at a colony and she was just too sweet to release back to the streets. She is a gentle, mild-mannered kitty and shows zero aggression. Her first instinct was to run when I approached her, but now she's much more relaxed and calm in her environment. She is on the shy side and will take some time to blossom in a new home, but she definitely enjoys attention from her humans and has learned that it's nice to be loved and cared for. She loves tummy rubs and ear scratches and will melt as soon as you pet her. She likes to play with toys on occasion (catnip mice are her fav) and can usually be found lounging in her cat tree by the window. Amal has silky soft fur almost like a bunny's and the is on the petite side. She LOVES other cats and must not be an only kitty. She would thrive in a home with a friendly, confident cat who will show her the ropes. No children please, but a calm, cat-friendly dog may be okay. We adopted him from a friend who had a litter in July of 2024, he was born April 30th 2024 so he is just under 1 year old as of April 24th 2025. He is a very loving and sweet cat not aggressive at all. He is great with dogs and kids, he hasn’t been around any other cats however so im not sure how well he will do with them I assume great as he already has been. We cannot afford to keep up the proper care for him that is why we must rehome him. He loves sitting in laps and getting pet, his favorite snack is tuna and he is very chill likes to sleep.
