Story
Gelato is a fabulous 2-year-old lady with main-character energy and a personality that makes her unforgettable. She’s friendly as all get out, loves being part of the action, and has that effortless cool girl next door vibe—you know, the one you can’t quite pin down but absolutely want at every party. She’s not the type to demand constant cuddles or be carried around like a baby, and that’s part of her charm. Gelato prefers affection on her terms: hang out nearby, exchange some love, maybe a few pets… and when she’s had enough, she’ll let you know. (Pro tip: when her tail puffs up like a tiny porcupine, that’s her polite way of saying, “Alright, let’s take five.”) Gelato is confident, social, and independent—perfect for someone who appreciates a cat with boundaries, personality, and a little sass. She’s the companion who’ll lounge near you, supervise your day, greet guests like a pro, and bring fun energy into your home without being clingy. If you’re looking for a cat with charisma, charm, and just the right amount of spice, Gelato is ready to be the coolest addition to your life. Visit her at our adoption partner, PetSmart. The address is 1779 Stone Church Road East, Stoney Creek. *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

Story
Straight out of a storybook and into your heart, Annabelle is a 2-year-old feline icon whose black-and-white markings look just like Annabelle the Cow from the beloved books. Yes, she knows she’s adorable. Yes, she will absolutely catch you staring at her. And yes… she will judge you (lovingly). Annabelle is a friendly, curious gal with penetrating, stop-you-in-your-tracks eyes that seem to say, “I know things.” She enjoys being part of the action, observing her kingdom, and checking out whatever you’re doing—but on her terms. Annabelle’s Personality, Unfiltered: Affectionate… with boundaries. She enjoys pets and attention in moderation and will politely (or not so politely) let you know when she’s had enough. Independent Queen Energy. She has no interest in sharing the spotlight with other cats and would prefer to be your one and only. Curious & Confident. She loves to explore, watch, and engage—without being smothered. Treat Tube Enthusiast. Churu, Lick-e-Lix, cat yogurt—whatever you call it, this is the way to her heart. Who Annabelle Is Looking For: Annabelle has a soft spot for people who respect her space, read her cues, and don’t insist on constant cuddles. If you’re the type who enjoys a cat that sits near you, watches you intently, and occasionally blesses you with affection, you may be her perfect match. She’s not a fan of other cats, and she doesn’t want to be fawned over—but earn her trust, offer a treat tube, and you’ll have a loyal, hilarious companion who chooses you. Annabelle isn’t just a cat—she’s a character. A cow-cat muse. A confident, quirky soul who knows exactly who she is and isn’t apologizing for it. If you’re looking for a cat with personality, presence, and boundaries (plus incredible markings), Annabelle is ready to move in and run the show. Story
Meet Meatloaf: Built Like a Brick, Soft Like a Marshmallow!! (case #6459) If cats could be constructed by a bricklayer with a sense of irony, Meatloaf would be the final masterpiece. At 4 to 5 years old, Meatloaf is not just a cat — he’s a load-bearing unit. Solid. Dense. Immovable. The kind of cat you expect to see holding up a retaining wall or supervising a construction site with a tiny hard hat and a clipboard. This man is BRICK. Brick wall. Brick oven. Brick through a window. You don’t pick Meatloaf up — you negotiate with gravity. At first glance, Meatloaf looks like he runs an alley gang. Like he’s got beef with three raccoons and a tabby named Vinny. He has the face of someone who’s “seen some things” and would absolutely charge protection money for garbage cans. But here’s the plot twist…Meatloaf is a melted fondue on the inside. A soft, gooey, affectionate cheese dip disguised as a concrete slab. Despite his rough-and-tumble exterior, Meatloaf is an absolute clown. He’s sweet, silly, and delightfully ridiculous. He will: demand attention like a mob boss, then immediately flop over for belly rubs; stare at you intensely…then trip over his own feet; look like he’s about to fight someone, but instead just wants to be held like a baby burrito. He has big “tough guy with a teddy bear collection” energy. The kind of cat who looks like he bench presses Buicks but emotionally collapses if you stop petting him. Meatloaf is the perfect mix of intimidating aesthetics and marshmallow behavior. He’s affectionate, goofy, and full of personality — a cat who brings both laughs and love in massive, brick-sized portions. If you’re looking for a cat who: Looks like a hardened alley boss Acts like a soft, squishy cheese snack Has the emotional depth of a rom-com protagonist And the physical density of a small bunker Then congratulations. Meatloaf is your guy. Adopt Meatloaf. He promises not to reinforce your walls — just your heart. Meatloaf is available to meet and adopt from the following PetSmart location: Address: 1779 Stone Church Rd E, Stoney Creek, ON L8J 0B4 *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

Story
Meet Lexi! 3 yrs Spayed/Female Lexi is a cat's cat, and her future hangs in the balance of being able to connect with a compassionate and caring pet owner who can love a cat for the sake of that cat, not for what they get in return from that cat. Lexi was born and raised among a colony of community cats, she was incredibly difficult to catch with efforts spanning more than 10 months as she diligently worked to evade even the most skilled of trappers before she was finally secured, pregnant, and ready to begin adding her own little ones to the overpopulation crisis. Thankfully, Lexi was secured before she could give birth, and her babies never had to experience the harsh reality of being born on the street. Lexi was spayed, and she has been in foster care for well over a year, but Lexi is still a cat's cat, and she has very little use for humans beyond being grateful that they can ensure her comfort and a full tummy. Will Lexi meet you at the door after a long day at work? No. Will Lexi sit up on your lap? Nope. Does Lexi like cuddles? No thanks! Does Lexi love to be petted and show her appreciation with purrs? Also no! Will Lexi sleep up in the bed with you? Not a chance. Will Lexi leap around playing with toys with you? Not going to happen. Will Lexi sit up on the couch with you? Probably not. What WILL Lexi do or offer?? Honestly? Not a lot in terms of what she will give back, or show, but she will faithfully use a litter box, she will happily eat canned and dry food and she may even meow/chatter at you at meal times, and allow a head pet or couple of quick strokes (only at meal times, thank you kindly), she will use a scratching post, and she wont try to dart out your front door every time you come and go. And she is a really great hunter should you happen to have a mouse! And that's about it. Lexi is a good friend to other cats. She settles in really well with another mellow and relaxed cat, she seems to really like the boys to pal and chum around with, and she can make a comforting presence for another cat who would like a buddy who wont try to steal the limelight or try to hog any of the love and affection, but who will just hang around, being there, to watch, cuddle up beside, and hang out with. There is a great chance that Lexi will never become any more open or affectionate. She will probably never be a lap cat, will probably never want to be picked up or held, she will never be able to give what many people are looking for when they adopt a cat - but Lexi still needs to be loved, she still needs a Forever Home, where she can be free to be herself, do her thing and thrive, despite not offering the love, cuddles and sweetness that most people are looking for in a furry family member. Lexi needs someone special to take notice of her, to see her worth despite her aloof and independent nature, and who will offer her a truly unconditional love, that means sharing a home, a life and a love that does not meet the traditional expectations of pet ownership. Lexi can consider a safe barn or shop cat post, where she will be kept safe, well fed and cared for, or would be happy to be a house cat who is simply left to do her thing as she chooses with no expectation of her changing to suit the needs of her humans while they change their focus to accept and love her for who she is. Lexi is fully vetted, vaccinated, spayed, she is microchipped has been treated for routine parasites and is is great health, she has fantastic litter box habits and is a neat and tidy little room-mate who likes to keep herself to herself and is in no rush to change that. ADOPTION FEES WILL BE WAIVED FOR A SUITABLE ADOPTER. Please submit an adoption application for Lexi today at http://priderescue.ca/
