Story
Hi there! I’m Mario, and this is my sister Peach—we’re a bonded brother-sister duo with a flair for fun and a whole lotta love to give. We’re about 1½ years old now and have been waiting patiently in foster care for a whole year for our forever home. I’m the sporty one—I play fetch like a pro (yes, really!), and I’ll bring the ball right back to you so we can keep the game going. I’m also a top-tier snuggler, but I have one small request: please sit down so I can curl up with you properly. I might even cry a little just to make sure you do sit. It’s called strategy, folks. I love being near my people, and I’ll happily snooze with you for part of the night—just to make sure you’re warm and cozy. And I’m Peach! I’m the chatty one of the two, and I take my job as morning greeter very seriously. I’ll meow hello and make sure you know exactly where to put our breakfast plates—consistency is key, after all. I adore being part of the action and will flop down right in your path to demand flirty belly rolls and a few sweet pets. Both of us love to wrestle, chase toys (catnip balls, yes please!), and be around our people. We’re social butterflies with other cats and would do great in a home with respectful kiddos. We’re not sure how we feel about dogs, though... probably better off without them. We’re just waiting for the right home to fall in love with our sweet, silly selves—could it be yours? Mario & Peach are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites, and health-checked by our veterinary partners. They both tested Negative for FIV/FELV. They are both on a modestly priced diet of IAMS Urinary Dry Food and Fancy Feast wet. Mario did have a single stress episode when he was locked in a room to go into a carrier to go to an adoption event. He was in & out of the litter box several times. We had our vet run a urinalysis just in case and there was nothing - he was fine. He has never had an episode since. We are happy to guaranty his urinary health for the next 2 years. The adoption fee is $400 for the pair. If you have room in your heart & home for Mario & Peach, contact us here, email heartstohomesfelines@gmail.com or submit an application at www.heartstohomes.ca/cat-adoption.

Story
Meet Sushi (black & white) and Tula (tabby) – our lovely velvety coated sisters. Born outside and semi-feral, these girls are now loving the comforts of the indoors and the attention of their humans. Although they will initially be shy, once settled you will be delighted by their playful and loving natures. Tula readily comes to her foster mom when called by name while Sushi likes to give a little hiss before purring up a storm for pets. The girls have been integrated into their foster home and do well with the resident cats. They enjoy wands, spring toys, balls, cat trees and window watching. They are about six months old and have always been together. They deserve to stay that way. Tula and Sushi are better suited to older children and adults. They are untested with dogs. Tula & Sushi have been spayed, vaccinated & microchipped. Tula tested negative for FIV/FELV. Sushi has tested positive for FIV and negative for FELV. We know so much more about FIV now. FIV is a feline only, slow-acting virus that compromises a cat's immune system over a long period of time. Cats can live long healthy indoor lives with FIV. FIV cannot be transmitted to people or other animal species and it is not easily passed to other cats. FIV is passed between cats through a deep bite – deep enough to inject saliva into the bloodstream of the other cat. You see these types of bites with males fighting for territory outdoors. FIV is NOT passed between cats through shared food bowls, shared litter boxes or through playing, wrestling or licking/cleaning each other. Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine conducted a long-term study in cat shelters and found that FIV-positive cats can live with FIV-negative cats and not infect the FIV-negative cats during normal day-to-day interaction. Studies over the last 10 years have also shown that cats with FIV often live as long as otherwise healthy cats that do not have this virus. We have included links to information on FIV below. Cornell University - Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) | Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine Ontario SPCA - https://ontariospca.ca/blog/positive-doesnt-need-to-be-negative-adopting-and-living-with-an-fiv-positive-cat/ If you have room in your heart & your home, contact us here, email heartstohomesfelines@gmail.com or fill out an application at www.heartstohomes.ca.

Story
This is Kumal and Sanga – these sweet boys were rescued from the streets scrounging for food. They are skittish and will require an adjustment period. From their foster mom – “Kumal loves his snuggles. Sanga is getting there slowly. He will now sleep with us on the bed. He comes out when people are over which is a big step! Kumal let me cut his nails a couple weeks ago!!” They have come a long way from their days on the street. Kumal & Sanga deserve & would do best in an experienced home with the patience to give them some time to adjust. Kumal & Sanga are on a veterinary grade diet – Hill’s Urinary CD Stress - for their dry food and Fancy Feast for their wet. Sanga had blood in his urine when we brought him in. The vet believes the blood was due to stress as there was nothing found in tests. The CD Stress diet cleared it up and he is fine now that he is on this diet. We are happy to supply a 3 month supply of their dry food as part of their adoption. A forever home for Kumal & Sanga would be such a wonderful Christmas miracle! If you have room in your heart & your home for Kumal & Sanga, please contact us here, email heartstohomesfelines@gmail.com or fill out an application at www.heartstohomes.ca. They have been neutered, vaccinated microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FELV. Their adoption fee will be reduced until the end of December to help find them a home!.

Story
Meet Wiley! This handsome boy is approximately 9 months old. Wiley showed up on a rural property where a kind family took him in and contacted us for help. Wiley is a high energy young cat that needs a young active feline playmate. He loves his cat tree, springs, balls, catnip mice, wand toys and likes to play ninja in his tunnel - flipping it across the floor. He loves watching the critters and birds outside and he will make you laugh when he jumps into the bathtub when he hears the water running! When Wiley is tired out and wants attention, he will jump up and lie on his foster parents' laps. The 4 middle aged cats in his foster home are still adjusting to his playful energy. He wants to be with them but they are not too sure about him. Wiley is still learning cat manners from them and doing well. Wiley would likely be ok with older children who will play with him and as a young cat would likely adjust to a cat savvy dog. Wiley has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FELV. If you have room in your heart & your home for this endearing character, contact us here, email heartstohomesfelines@gmail.com or fill out an application at www.heartstohomes.ca. The adoption fee is $250.
