Chai is a tortoiseshell cat, roughly 4 to 7 years old and 8 pounds of quiet, watchful beauty. Her warm amber and black coat is striking, but it is her eyes that will get you. Cautious, steady, and full of something she has not yet decided to share. She came to the shelter scared, and the shelter has not made it easier. That is not who Chai is. It is just where she is right now. She can be handled, she accepts gentle interaction, and she is clearly a cat with depth. She just needs someone willing to meet her there. Tortoiseshell cats are famous for their personality, and Chai has it. She is not a cat who will perform for you. She is a cat who will, slowly and on her own timeline, decide that you are safe. And when she does, that trust will mean something. Chai would do best in a calm, quiet home without young children. A patient adopter who understands that some of the best things take time will get the most out of her. We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 10am to 3pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability. Story

Pollyanna is as positive as can be. She’s optimistic and only knows the bright side of life, even though she was in very rough shape when she was rescued. One night, she appeared before a volunteer with a bloody face and wheezing, suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection that required urgent medical care. But that didn’t dampen her spirits. Pollyanna continued to play, eat, and cuddle into her foster mom as if she was perfectly healthy. She is truly a resilient and loving girl. Pollyanna is a 2-year-old domestic short hair tabby who is spayed and vaccinated. She is FeLV positive, which means she is immunocompromised. Because of this, she should be the only cat in the home unless there are other FeLV-positive cats. Despite her diagnosis, Pollyanna is cheerful, cuddly, and playful. She would thrive in a home with a dog or children where she can get plenty of love and attention. This is a courtesy post, and Pollyanna is not in the care of the shelter. Story

Jules & Guy are a bonded pair of 7-year-old black cats looking for a home together. Jules is a handsome, “slim thick” all-black cat with a more reserved nature at first, but once he’s comfortable, he becomes an absolute cuddle bug. One of his most charming quirks is his adorably prominent vampire-like canine teeth. When he wants attention, he’ll gently raise his paw to touch your face, making it impossible not to fall in love. Guy (pronounced “Gee”) is just as special. He’s a dashing, all-black cat born without a tail and has a single little vampire tooth that peeks out. He’s outgoing, playful, and full of personality. When he’s feeling especially proud during playtime, he lets out the sweetest little meow. These two boys were originally rescued from Nashville Animal Control and spent years in a loving home with multiple animals. They were surrendered to rescue when their owner entered hospice care, and they have remained closely bonded ever since. Jules and Guy must be adopted together. They do well with other cats and dogs and would love to join a home where they can continue to be part of a loving family. This is a courtesy post, and they are not in the care of the shelter. This talkative lady loves to “chat” with her people and will happily keep you company with her commentary throughout the day. Like many older cats, Bodega knows exactly what she likes — and what she doesn’t. She enjoys attention, cozy resting spots, and being near her humans, but she also appreciates having her own space when she wants it. Her expressive personality makes her a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys a cat that truly interacts with them. Bodega does have a cataract that gives one of her eyes a cloudy appearance, but it doesn’t slow her down. She still navigates her world just fine and spends her days doing what senior cats do best: supervising the room, chatting with visitors, and settling into comfortable naps. Bodega would do best as the only cat in the home, especially without younger or high-energy cats. She prefers a calm environment where she can be the queen of the house and receive all the attention she deserves. Senior cats like Bodega have so much love to give, and they often make the most devoted companions.
