Look at how they sparkle! This gem litter is too cute!Meet Amethyst, a 2-month-old female Domestic Shorthair.Amethyst has been a sweet kitten and loves playing with her siblings and toys. They all use their litterbox well and enjoys curling up on their comfy bed after getting loved on by staff and volunteers! Please remember that Amethyst is a kitten and kitten behavior comes with the package. They need lots of toys and places to scratch to learn good scratching habits. They also need patience as they finesse their litter box skills in a new home they are unfamiliar with. They are all currently in the Ellensburg shelter and will be available for adoption soon!If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday.A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

Story
Toes comes from a colony of cats that existed in our neighborhood since before we moved in. We've been told the colony formed when one of our neighbors threw out their unfixed female cat and she repeatedly became pregnant and birthed multiple litters. Toes was one of her friendlier kittens that we were able to socialize and take in. Like the others, she's in need of a home. We do our best, but we are low income and can barely afford to care for this many cats. Toes gets her name from the white markings on her toes. She also has a love of people toes and loves to rub her face on them, moreso when she was a kitten. Toes is a funny kitty who's full of sas and personality. She often makes us laugh with her smug and snooty facial expressions. She's a queen bee who loves to be the center of attention. When the other cats are getting attention she will become very jealous and try to get between us or swat at them. Despite this, she is very sweet and cuddly and loves to sit in your lap.

We do our best, but we are low income and can barely afford to care for this many cats. As his name suggests, he has a very shy and anxious demeanor. It's likely he'll always be a little bit afraid of you. However, if you apply a gentle approach and let him come to you, sometimes he will surprise you and show you affection. He just needs a lot of patience. The best home for Shy Guy is one that is quiet. We prefer if Shy Guy was adopted with his mother as she provides him comfort, but we are now willing to adopt them out separately. They look like a captcha that reads "Coy" on one side and "Joy" on the other. It suits his personality as he is both coy and a joy to be around. CoyJoy is a very sweet, affectionate and talkative boy. He has a lot to say and he speaks his heart. He's also very energetic and frequently gets the zoomies. At the very least he needs a home with a window he can look out of, as this helps calm and entertain him.

This is a courtesy post so please contact Loree directly at the phone number or email below Hello, my name is Gurdy! I'm 14 yo. I love snuggles and lap time rubs. I sleep a lot, I'm friendly with other dogs, cats and kids. My tummy is sensitive to chicken so I typically eat rabbit dry food. I'm also polydactyl and love it when you play with my feet! I've come from two very loving homes, one moved to Europe and the other is moving to VA to start a family! I love treats! I'll even go outside and sit in the sun with you on a nice summer day. I'm easy going and super affectionate with everyone! To find out more contact Loree directly at 804-386-9468 or Spriggs.loree@gmail.com ARRF has not met Gurdy and urge you to do your own evaluation
