Story
Hi, my name is Beau! I may look like a big tough guy at 95 pounds, but deep down I’m a gentle, sensitive soul who`s learning how to trust again. I was adopted as a puppy and returned several years later. No one knows exactly what happened during that time, but when I came back to Pawmetto Lifeline, I was scared and unsure. Thankfully, the kind humans here gave me time, patience, and training—and I’ve come so far!I’m an active, intelligent boy who loves to play. Fetch is my favorite game, especially if there’s a tennis ball involved. I’ll even bring it back! I also enjoy nature walks, tug-of-war, and learning new cues—I’m working on Sit, Down, and Come, and I’m walking to the yard on a leash like a champ. I thrive on routine, and I’m very treat-motivated, which makes training super fun for me.My ideal home would be a quiet adult household with people who will give me space and time to get to know them at my pace. The best way to build trust with me? Play fetch! I prefer not to be touched right away—unless you’re offering a butt scratch, and even that should be on my terms.Even though I’m beautiful, big, and fluffy, I don’t like to share my things. If you allow me on beds or couches, I may claim them as mine and feel uncomfortable if you try to move me—so it’s best to keep boundaries and teach me that furniture is off-limits.Because of my sensitive nature, I’ll need multiple visits with a potential adopter so we can get to know each other slowly and thoughtfully. Once I trust you, I’ll be a loyal, playful, and loving companion. If you`re patient, dog-savvy, and ready for a unique and rewarding bond, I might just be your perfect match. Could you be my forever person? My adoption fee of $50 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org. Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday, Friday and Saturday are walk in from 10-5. Please fill out the online application, and you will be contacted if you are approved and are a good fit for one of our adoptable pets.

Story
Hi, my name is Blackie! My sibling Brownie and I are stunning German Shepherds with big hearts and sharp minds. We`re already picking up on basic commands and would thrive with an experienced dog owner who can continue our training and keep our minds and bodies engaged—boredom isn’t our thing! We’re still working on crate and potty training, but with a little patience and a consistent routine, we’ll get there in no time. We love people and older kids, and we’re always up for zoomies, roaming, and a good run! Just a heads up—we’re excellent jumpers, so we’ll need a secure, high fence to keep us safe.We get along well with larger dogs, but small dogs and cats aren’t a good match for us. We’re warming up to car rides and discovering that treats are totally awesome. If you`re looking for a pair of loyal, energetic, and loving companions, we might just be your perfect match!Adoption fee: $50Blackie is part of our Home to Home Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the adoption fee. Pawmetto Lifeline wants every animal to have a chance to find a loving home. Please fill out an adoption application at https://pawmettolifeline.org/adoption/adoptionapplication/ or contact adoption@pawmettolifeline.org if you would like to meet this animal.
