Story
This pretty lady is Maeve, a 3 year old German shepherd who came to us from a local shelter with a leg injury. We believe her leg was broken and healed incorrectly, and our vet believed amputation was best, since it was impairing her quality of life. She is recovering in a foster home where she enjoys big comfy beds and easy walks in the sunshine. Maeve is a very friendly, sweet shepherd who, once healed, will be active and playful! She walks well on a leash, gets along with other dogs, and is a smart cookie! Maeve is going to make a spectacular family dog for a very lucky family! We promised Maeve that the rest of her life, would be the best of her life. Hi, my name is Brownie! My sibling Blackie and I are beautiful German Shepherds. We are naturally smart-we know a few commands already but would need an experienced dog owner to work with us to continue our learning! Please have the time and desire to keep us from getting bored and we will make you proud! We are still working on potty and crate training-we just need some patience and consistency please. We love people and older children-zoomies, roaming, and running is so fun! We really can jump, so please have a nice high fence so we can't get out~We love dogs, but only large ones like us, please! Small dogs and cats are definitely not a good idea please! We are learning to really like car rides, and of course, treats are the BEST!Brownie is part of our Home to Home Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the adoption fee. Pawmetto Lifeline wants every animal to have a chance to find a loving home. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Location: West Columbia, SC Name: Ginger Age: 5 or 6 years Breed: Coonhound, German Shepherd, Akita Mix - 68 lbs with long legs M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Spayed; UTD on rabies & distemper Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: good with everyone she has met so far; haven’t exposed her to cats but doubt it would be an issue Aggression or medical issues?: No aggression; heartworm positive upon arrival and has been through fast-kill. Is on monthly prevention and will need to be retested in a year to verify treatment work did what it was supposed to (extremely high success rate). Reason for rehoming?: owner did not keep her contained and eventually moved away. For 4 years, she walked miles every day for food/water on her daily rotation having back to back litters. It is not simply that the neighbors did not care, she just wasn’t used to being contained and they struggling catching her and keeping her contained. I have had no issues keeping her contained in my back yard, but I do have a hot wire lining my fence and I am nowhere near the area she was wandering for all that time. House/crate trained?: she has only come inside my house a handful of times honestly, she prefers to be a yard dog as that is what she is used to. She has had no accidents when indoors though. Does need a fenced in yard. Potentially additional measures as mentioned above but I have no way of knowing until she is in the new situation/environment to see how she reacts as she never even tried escaping at my house. Additional info/story (personality): She is beyond sweet. No, she isn’t a house dog, but she is a loving dog. Out of the many animal’s I have taken to my vet, she is in their top 2 list of favs out of my group. While she is a yard dog, she walks decently well on a leash (I’m ~125 lbs and the only thing that is difficult is getting her in my car as in she isn’t one to drag me all over). She has been around tons of dogs and people with me with absolutely no issues. Vet had her in perfect health besides the heartworm treatment that we have completed. She is definitely past her puppy days and prefers to lay around instead of playing with the other dogs, but this could also be due to the recent heartworm treatments. I definitely wouldn’t consider her as a guard dog as she is such a people pleaser (she rarely barks - assuming it was learned behavior as she was surviving “on her own” for so long). Please help give her the furever home she has always deserved! Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home .

Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Age: 1 year Breed: Coonhound/German Shepherd/Mix - 55 lbs M/F: M Spayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies, bordetella & dhlpp, up to date on heartworm prevention, neutered Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: all of the above but will most likely be a bit much to have direct access to small children unless ran before (very excitable) Aggression or medical issues?: was born with a deformed paw but the vet does not see it needing any future medical care although it will put him more prone to arthritis (easily managed with joint food or supplements at a younger age). This doesn’t affect his daily life or energy level in the slightest, he will only hold it up after a lot of playing as I’m sure it tires out quicker. No aggression but is barrier reactive (will act like he will eat you through a pen if he doesn't know you well but once let out turns into a complete sweetheart) House/crate trained?: yes to both Additional info/story (personality): He is extremely sweet with everyone and meets no stranger. He loves his outside time and playing. Would thrive best in a home with lots of attention or doggy friends to play with. Also a huge goofball. Does still jump when excited but is doing much better. Can pull quite hard on a leash as I don’t think he realizes his size. Was super gentle with the cats I introduced him to though. HIGH HIGH energy and loud bark due to breed mix. Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Pulls quite hard on a leash when scared or with a new human. Is a big baby and has no problem being held. Big personality, long, and lanky. Definitely a cuddle bug. Was raised in an apartment so was raised to not be very talkative. Message/comment if interested. Story
3 years ago, my son left for the Governor's school, and is now attending Clemson. It's been a lonely 3 years for Chop. I'm not providing him with the attention that he needs. He is a stubborn but very sweet dog. He spends a good amount of time running around my large back yard in Irmo, occasionally escaping to roam the neighborhood, but he is an inside dog. I started a new job outside of Aiken and am preparing to rent out my home. I have even less time now to take care of a pet properly. Chop will make a great companion. I really wish I could keep him. -Dean

Daring and charismatic DC is the best of both worlds. Reason to add him to your family.. 1: He wants to spend time with you watching animal planet. 2. He is willing to go to bat for you if the need arises. He won't be able to bail you out because he will be sitting next you. :) 3. When you need someone to accompany you on a trip He calls shotgun. ( please don't let him drive no telling where you will end up). And finally well frankly every one needs that one friend that will dry your tears, laugh with you, go the extra mile and never question your decision. Apply at Www.wearezeus.org
