Story

Molly is a laid back, sweet shepherd mix looking for her forever home. She demonstrates most shepherd traits, and bonds most often to the female of the home. She adores children and is very affectionate with them, but can be nervous initially with some men and new situations. (She will hide/avoid until comfortable) She doesn’t mind other dogs as long as they do not try to be dominant around her, but would be perfectly happy in a only dog home as well. She is not super playful with other dogs (does occasionally play with some, usually 2-5 year old males) but is well socialized. Because of her size and herding tendencies on fence boundaries, we do not recommend she live with small dogs. She walks beautifully on leash, and is obedient. She does have some slight separation anxiety and will be vocal in a new home until she settles into routine, but once settled she is calm, quiet and crates without issue. She is non destructive in the house and prefers simply to be near her person/people.

Sweet, smart, and super friendly – Dk is the total package! He’s got the manners of a gentleman. He’s a great leash walker and already knows how to sit and shake on command. He seems to know to be calm and gentle around people. When it’s time, he has no problem letting his silly flag fly! He enjoys rough housing with toys, and has yet to find a toy he doesn’t like. He’ll play with any and all of them!

Note: The following information is from March 2023. She now weighs 46 pounds. Her adopter returned her due to allergies and provided no information about her other than she is now house trained. (tw 4/24/2024)Daria is an excitable girl who really wants your attention. She is jumpy and vocal. She is curious and intense, active and confident. She weighs 40 pounds and enjoys leading while walking on a leash. She knows the sit command but we don't know if she is house trained. She transferred from another shelter and forgot to bring her resume. We haven't seen her interact with children so you can always bring yours to meet her. She has a desire to please people and enjoys being close. She likes running, sticks, and chasing balls but has no interest in picking one up. She is an absolutely amazing and loving dog. We have 2 cats that she gets along with and plays with daily. She loves kids and other dogs. My wife recently took a full time position and we no longer have the time during the day to keep her entertained. She has a lot of energy and needs more attention than we can give her during the day and feel like she would be better suited with someone who had the time during the day to be around. She is potty trained and kennel trained where she sleeps in our bedroom at night. She enjoys the water and can swim, but is very cautious if she can't put her feet in. Everyone absolutely loves her and we just want to find a suitable home for her and what is best for her needs. We would love to keep her but we feel like she gets easily bored by herself most days left alone. Only serious inquiries who can give her the attention and care she deserves. She would make for a great working dog. She is easily trainable and eager to please.
