Story
Little Ms. Perfect, aka Duchess is a 2 year old Dutch girl from Houston's third ward. She is the bestest pup you will ever meet. Poised, intelligent, obedient and absolutely stunning, Duchess loves to give her paw when she first meets someone she likes. However, she is a Dutch shepherd, so expect her to be protective when she is home. Duchess was found as a stray by one of our team members who trapped her and brought her to her foster home. She became best friends with our Belgian malinois Mia instantly. The two are just incredibly sweet together. Duchess will do great in a home with or without a second dog, She loves her toys and is a hassle free pup. Duchess is 2 yo, 54 lb, spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped and kept on preventions. If you are looking for a sweet, sophistated, loving companion, Duchess may just be your perfect match. Yards must be full fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or invisible fences. To meet this amazing pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Duchess' adoption fee of $400 includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and harness. There is also a transport fee of $100 - $300 depending on destination if outside of Houston. Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

LOVES RESTAURANT PATIOS TO GET ATTENTION AND PUP CUPS  Est. DOB 4/8/18, weight 62 lbs. Beautiful Lucy, a gentle, loving girl who is great with children, enjoys car rides and walks in the neighborhood where she is on squirrel patrol! She especially enjoys going with her mom to dog-friendly café’s with outdoor seating where she gets to soak up the wait-staff’s attention and perhaps have a pup cup. She loves playing tug-of-war in the backyard with any dog toy, and she occasionally goes to the dog park and doggy day care. Lucy is looking for a new home now that her mom has downsized to an apartment and no longer has a backyard for Lucy to run around in. She was rescued from the street -- a car wash to be exact -- when she was just a youngster and has lived with a small dog ever since.  Lucy’s ideal home would be with a family who would include her in family outings such as trips to the kid’s baseball games or walks along the bayou walking trails. At the end of a busy day, she loves nothing more than relaxing and some quiet downtime with her people. She would enjoy living with another easygoing, calm, small/medium-sized dog friend. Or she could be a solo girl, but no cats, please.   HOPE ID D26-0225-0013 Lucy’s $200 adoption fee includes the spay, vaccines, microchip, negative heartworm test, negative fecal test, and monthly prevention for heartworms and fleas.  To apply online, go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php.  Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt from us but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started. If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site Lucy will be at this weekend, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com and a volunteer will get back to you. Story
Frankie is a 1–2 year old Dutch Shepherd with boundless energy and the purest soul you’ll ever meet. This silly, playful boy is always ready for an adventure and thrives when he has something to do. He’s eager to learn and loves showing off the tricks he already knows—sit, lie down, and shake—especially if treats are involved! With his big brain and bigger heart, he’s ready to keep learning with the right family. One of Frankie’s absolute favorite activities is playing fetch. He’ll proudly chase down his current “favorite toy,” and when he’s finally tuckered out, he knows it’s time to sit pretty, soak up some love, and collect every ounce of affection you’re willing to give. Frankie has had a rough start, and while he’s not the most dog-friendly pup right now, with patience, consistency, and the right environment, Frankie has every chance to grow into his best self

Story
Meet Dax!Breed: Teacup Shepherd/Pittie MixAge: ~1 yearWeight: ~30 lbsLooking for a sweet, snuggly sidekick? Meet Dax, a lovable Pittie mix who’s ready to steal your heart, and maybe your lap, too!Dax is a gentle, medium-energy boy who adores his people and loves nothing more than curling up for cuddles and giving soft kisses. He’s a bit shy at first, but once he warms up, you’ll see his goofy, affectionate personality shine through. He’s currently living with several other dogs (nine, to be exact!) and gets along great with them. While he’s shown a little food-guarding around human meals, he responds well to correction and has done beautifully with structured feeding routines.House & Crate Training:Dax is doing fantastic with his potty training — he knows to go outside and is great about holding it. He’s okay in his crate, though he’ll sometimes “chat” if he knows you’re home (he just doesn’t want to miss out on the fun!).Other Notes:Great with other dogsCats & kids: unknownWalks nicely on leash, no reactivity observedNo aggression or separation anxiety notedLoves toys, especially noisy ones (the crinklier, the better!)May indulge in a bit of backyard digging if left alone (he might have a little mole in him).Dax would thrive in a loving home where he can continue to build confidence and get plenty of affection. He’d enjoy having a friendly dog buddy to play with, but he’d also do well as the only pup if he gets lots of human attention. If you’re looking for a loyal, tenderhearted companion with a silly side, Dax is your guy! Dax is currently in a loving foster home in the Houston, Texas area. He is able to travel out of state!Adoption application: https://www.this-is-houston.org/adopt/adopt-application
