Beautiful Lucy, a gentle, loving girl who is great with children, enjoys car rides and walks in the neighborhood where she is on squirrel patrol! She especially enjoys going with her mom to dog-friendly café’s with outdoor seating where she gets to soak up the wait-staff’s attention and perhaps have a pup cup. She loves playing tug-of-war in the backyard with any dog toy, and she occasionally goes to the dog park and doggy day care. Lucy is looking for a new home now that her mom has downsized to an apartment and no longer has a backyard for Lucy to run around in. She was rescued from the street -- a car wash to be exact -- when she was just a youngster and has lived with a small dog ever since. Lucy’s ideal home would be with a family who would include her in family outings such as trips to the kid’s baseball games or walks along the bayou walking trails. At the end of a busy day, she loves nothing more than relaxing and some quiet downtime with her people. She would enjoy living with another easygoing, calm, small/medium-sized dog friend. Est DOB: 1/8/22, GSD mix, male, currently 75 lbs +, neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, heart-worm negative and microchipped Meet Haribo! (Hari for short) This incredibly handsome boy was born into the rescue on Jan. 8, 2022. He is a happy, goofy boy with a lot of personality. Haribo and his sister Honor were both born with a congenital issue called Megaesophogus. Basically his esophagus is too large to move food adequately from his mouth to his stomach so he just eats differently that others. When it’s feeding time, Hari sits in a special chair called a Bailey chair. Haribo is a clever boy who knows how to get into his chair for feeding times all on his own. He does very well eating and sitting in the chair for 20 minutes afterwards. He eats twice a day and has been eating Royal Canin. Like his sister Honor, his Megaesophogus is easily managed with an inexpensive drug called Sildenafil. He gets 50 mg a day. (25 mg in the a.m. and p.m.) Haribo is great on a leash, loves to play with his sister and likes to play fetch. He loves getting attention and will nuzzle your hands to get a nice petting. He likes walks around the lakes in his foster family’s neighborhood and is interested in the ducks and squirrels but doesn’t try to chase. He is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children that he does well with. Haribo is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children that he does well with. Salazar is a very gentle big boy. He is gentle to everyone. Please note, everyone. He has never fought with other dogs, even with some not-so-friendly dogs in the dog park. very friendly to all cats. can even be in the same room with the cats at night without being caged. I trust him that much. I live in a school district, and there are always many children who want to pet him. He is always very friendly and welcomes anyone's touch. When he is at home, he can rest well in his crate and also behaves well outside of the crate without destroying any furniture. When going out, he is full of energy and loves to play everywhere. He is a very, very smart boy and can easily learn commands. He currently knows how to respond to his name, sit, lie down, play dead, come, wait, fetch the ball, bring the ball back to your hand, jump over hurdles, go through tunnels, get up, get down, walk on a balance beam, climb ramps, and more.
