You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi there, I’m Indu — and I’m hoping you’ll see the moonlight in me.  I’m a 5-year-old Dutch Shepherd mix, about 65 pounds of quiet love and gentle soul. My name means “moon” in Hindi, and just like the moon, I’ve been learning to shine a little more each day. When I first came to my foster home, I was so shy that I’d stay in the other room or outside, watching the world from a safe distance. But with time, patience, and kindness, I’ve started to believe that people can be safe and love can be real. Now, I sleep on the bed, wag my tail when my humans come home, and even ask for pets (they feel amazing, by the way). I’m still learning to be brave — loud noises and sudden movements can startle me, so I’d do best in a calm home with kids 12 and up. But I promise, I’m trying every day to grow into the confident dog I know I can be. I would probably do best as an only pet, as other pets kind of stress me out. I do live with other dogs in my foster home, but can sometimes be overbearing to them. So if you have another dog I would need you to be understanding that I take some time to warm up.    I’m house-trained (never had an accident!), I know my name, and I come when called. I’m not a barker, and I can be trusted to roam the house while you’re away. Walks are one of my favorite things — I’m still working on not pulling, but it’s just because I get so excited to explore the world with you. If you have a little patience and a lot of love, I’ll give you my whole heart. I’m not perfect, but I’m trying so hard — and I hope you’ll see the beauty in that. Sahara is our two year old, previously feral German Shepherd mama who came to us a year ago from Palmdale desert in California. A friend reached out to us saying she was found in the desert and being cared for by a kind samaritan but needed a rescue to step in and help, so we said yes! She gave birth to 10 adorable puppies out there. Sahara has come out of her shell tons in the past year. She is house trained, crate trained, trained to go in and out of the car, can go on off leash hikes, is wonderful on leash AND is great with dogs/kids/humans. She is the total package. She can still be timid with initial greetings and take a little bit to warm up but once she does, she is the biggest love bug you will ever meet and super loyal to her family. Sahara is one of the sweetest and most sensitive dogs who will thrive with a family who is caring, loving, patient and kind.

She would not thrive as an only dog, so a confident canine buddy is a must for her.She’s both housetrained and crate trained, and her crate is her safe space… though she prefers it without fluffy bedding (those don’t last long!). Like a true young Malinois, she’s smart, curious, and can be a bit sneaky when she’s bored. Chew toys, bones, and peanut-butter Kongs are her love language.With continued confidence-building and basic training, ShyShy has the potential to be an incredible running or hiking partner.
