PETIE is a sweet friendly little gem of a dog. He's a 5-6 year old 23 pound boy. He is said to be a Feist, an old southern breed. Petie is a charmer. He loves loves loves his toys, loves people and is great with other dogs. He's a medium energy silly boy. He's a people magnet at adoption events, everyone stops to say hello. Petie is housebroken, crate trained and fine with cats. Basically, a perfect little sidekick. If you'd like to meet Petie, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. Do you some silly fun in your life? SPUD is here to help. He's a 3 month old puppy currently 8 pounds. Spud loves toys, playtime and following his foster mom everywhere. He has the cutest little puppy trot and deliciously unruly ears. Spud and his brother Tater came to us from a backyard breeder who was breeding Feists, a small southern dog breed. We aren't sure what the actual breed is on these pups, we think they look like Jack Russel Terrier mixes. Spud is full of puppy shenanigans and needs a home with another playful dog. We estimate he will grow to be a 20-25 pound adult dog. If you've been following us over the last month, you may recall ELO, WIGGLES and SHORTY. They came from the same owner/property. None of the dogs on the property were larger than 25 pounds. If you would like to meet Spud, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. TATER is a silly, fun, adventurous puppy looking for a home! He's around 12 weeks old and currently 8 pounds. Tater and his brother Spud came to us from someone who was breeding Feists, so officially he's a feist but we suspect he's part Jack Russell Terrier and heaven knows what else. We expect Tater to be 25ish pounds when fully grown. Tater loves to play outdoors and loves to chase leaves. He sleeps all night in his doggie bed with all his friends, and by friends we mean all his toys. Tater is fostered with other dogs and kids. He's crate trained and doing well on housebreaking. Tater will thrive in a home where he has a playful dog to help train him. All puppies require training, Tater needs a home with an adopter willing to train him to become a well-mannered family member. Step 2: PawPrints will review the application, verifying Vet and personal references as well as landlord requirements/restrictions (if applicable) Step 3: IF your application is approved, we will call you to schedule a meet and greet for you to meet the pet. &#226&#128&#139Step 4: If the meet and greet goes well, we will schedule the home visit. We’ve tried the more subtle approach and it’s not working, so blunt and brutal it is. Paco needs a unicorn adopter. He has some fear based issues so he’s horrible with new people. His adopter will need to let Paco adjust at his own pace and ignore him for days, maybe longer, when he arrives in your home. If you ignore our advice, he won’t hesitate to remind you that you’re moving too quickly and need to slow down, so no worries about wondering if you’re going at his speed or not. He loves to sit on your lap and wants to be close to you all the time. If you need a lap warmer, he’s your man. That doesn’t in any way mean he likes to be picked up (again, he’ll remind you of his disdain if you try). We don’t even try to bathe him because we would like to keep all of our fingers. Don’t adopt him with the idea that he’ll someday be warm and fuzzy with visitors, it’s a nice thought but he’s probably never going to be that dog. The good...once he trusts you he loves you and he needs your life to revolve around him. He forms a strong attachment to one person and wants to be the love of your life He becomes so attached that he is recommended for a single person home More good...he likes big dogs. He tolerates small dogs (although he can be a bit bossy) but appreciates the friendship of a bigger dog (especially if they let him run underneath them when he’s frightened). He’s okay with dog-savvy cats but he’ll be bossy and chase (no biting) cats who won’t stand their ground. A dog experienced person who has as much of a dislike for other humans as Paco does would be a perfect match for him. Because he doesn’t like people, walks aren’t his thing. He does love running in a fenced in yard though, and he’ll alert you to every falling leaf, neighbors 5 houses down who has the audacity to be carrying their groceries inside and when the wind changes direction You’ll never miss any of the neighborhood happenings with Paco around Paco is a 6 year old Chihuahua/Dachshund who has spent entirely too much time in his foster home. He adores his foster mom but it’s time for him to plant some permanent roots He’s neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on vaccines. Applicants must live within 100 miles of Florence, KY, no exceptions. Home Recommendation: Single Family. Fenced yard. He talks back like a teenager oozing attitude and tends to like to be vocal (he *is* a Chihuahua), so a home that has walls that are shared with a neighbor won't work. He will scream and act like you're killing him if you try to leash him, so a fenced in yard is a must. Oh, and he doesn't like to be picked up either. He loves to be near his people and be as close as he can. Cats: Well, he lives with cats and hasn't injured any, but he can sometimes be a jerk to them. He'll randomly "guard" water dishes and other items, and he'll chase the cats away, but no teeth are involved. Kids: Due to his size, he's not recommended for a home with younger children or where children visit often. Crate Trained: He is crate trained but his foster family usually just leaves him loose. Home Recommendation: Single Family. Fenced yard. Chloe is a skittish dog so needs a home with a fenced in yard. She will need time to acclimate to her new home and needs a fence to keep her safe. She does not enjoy taking walks and finds them to be very scary. She is a trip hazard so a home with someone with mobility issues would not be a good match. Cats: She's a bit bossy with cats and because of this we recommend a home without them. We will consider a home with cats that are very dog savvy. Kids: Chloe is timid and would do best in a quieter home. She tends to hide when there are loud noises. Older children should be fine as long as they understand she may take time to adjust. Potty Trained: Chloe does really well on a scheduled. She may not signal that she needs to go out, but routine helps prevent accidents. She is also used to having access to pee pads and uses them.
